The food (chicken curry) quality was very bad and the Price of Parata is too high. 60 rupee for 1 parata!Seriously?The fish grill which was served to us it was actually rotten one which was discovered while returning. The cook was talking to the waiter that you should havent given that one.They thought we all were tourist and we dont understand Malayalam. But we had our guide who was from Kerala.They dont have the hand wash even. It was full of water.Location and view is very good but the food and service is horrible.

Worst restaurant in varkala. It took 1 hour to get the menu we ordered. The staffs seems careless here and the service is too bad. Most of the menus are overpriced and their service is very poor!!!

The food is horrible. We ordered a whole fish fry and they served us a rotten fish with too much of bad smell. Though they apologise and didn’t charge for the fish but it was totally unexpected from a restaurant. The environment and vibe is okay.

The food was too bad also the staff was behaving rudely. Please stay away from this cafe.

This is really nice place, they serve beers and cocktails... You will get nice fish barbeque.... Service is nice.... A place with good ambience.... For live fish I recommend all to negotiate with them because I found some prices are little high and when I negotiated they have reduced... Some times some people used to come and sing which gives an extraordinary ambience...

Food is tasty. Its good, its fresh. Very Nice. However, service/friendliness needs to be improved. The person who looks after the sea-food table is very arrogant.

I hope the blue moon cafe and Blue moon are same if it is. I have to tell you guys dont ever visit this place. Very bad people and food. The near by table people was having ganja and beer when we are there.

Owned by an expat. The place is really good with some delicious food. The quantity of food provided is very less and the beer is fake watch out for this one since alcohol is banned in Kerala State. Do not get duped by ordering drinks that you know aren’t available.

My friend and I had a lovely experience at Blue Moon, they are new owners of the restaurant and we spoke to Alee the waiter everyday of our trip, either passing past restaurant or having our amazing iced smoothies there, he is very personable and sociable. We had pakoras and pancakes for snacks and they were very tasty and served within 20 mins.I would ignore the past reviews on this place as it was the old owners. I would say that the actual decor and furnishings could do with a revamp, but the service and food were great.

Food is very good and in budget..Outdoor seating is also very nice at night.

This place is a sham. Please dont make the mistake of going here. Varkala has many other cafes along the cliff side. Food took about an hour after which we found that it was completely tasteless. The bill took another hour. When we asked them to hurry, the staff was extremely impolite and asked us to pay the money and leave saying that they didnt care as long as they managed to make money through tourists.

I would give this place a 0 star rating if I could. It took about an hour and a half for us to be served our food. My friends who ordered fish said it was overcooked in some places and raw in other places. I ordered a very disappointing coconut chicken curry. There was no added coconut milk as I had expected, rather there were some strands of shredded coconut within the curry. The worst part is that the chicken in my curry had been deep fried and from the taste of it, I would say it was fried in the same oil they fry their fish in. Fishy chicken, YUCK. My friend who ordered a pizza also reported that the chicken on her pizza tasted fishy, I definitely would not recommend this place if you are looking for a decent meal. I also ordered a bottle of water twice a which never arrived.

A scam, Had a horrible experience, rude waiter, forced us to order fast and served the food almost an hour later. First time in my life tandoori chicken was priced by seasonal price and it cost a 1000 bucks. They mixed up all other orders and gave us food they felt like making. The bill was handwritten and illegible, so we dont know what we paid for. #Touristsstayaway

Awfull service here (I saw many customers trying to catch the waiters attention without much success) but the red snapper in banana leaf was excellent.We had also selected a plate of 3 big, fresh calamari from their outdoor display but when we received them (garlic fry) they had shrinked to barely 12 pieces ... ? Not sure we were served the whole quantity we were shown and charged. The bathrooms were filthy.The night we visited there was a live jam session which was pretty cool.

Hotel facing towards the sea 🌊 in a cliff. Variety of sea food is available all the season. Taste of food is OK. Prices are high.

Very friendly people around, good stock of sea fish available here. Loved the open space atmosphere.

This is the worst place in varkala cliff. The service was really bad. We waited almost 40 mins for even getting drinks. The food was not cooked properly. Orded fish sizzler the fish was soo raw that we had to eat that with a sip of water. In a nutshell worst service and waste of money.

I must say it sucks!!They prepared a grilled fish for us and it was just a boiled fish. They are trying to take all your money away.

Arrived at the restaurant at 9.00 pm. The host was pretty accommodative at the beginning. It took JUST 2 hours to serve jeera rice and the server retorded had we ordered multiple items of the same dish food would have ordered earlier. This was the same reaction from the host, his deamenour changed as it was the already 11 and we were the last ones. Do not go here if you have kids.

Their only concern is foreigners! Delayed serving and no proper response! I wont recommend it!

Worst place to eat in Varkala. I ordered for French Fries and what they served is normal potato fries. Then Chicken Mughlai was just ordinary chicken curry and there I got two pieces of fish also. Going there for meal is total waste of money. Instead try Gods own country kitchen which is just near to this useless restaurant.

Unlike other restaurants on that strip they serve fish and crab thats not fresh! We arrived late 10pm and ordered 2 crab as they were cheap and a snapper. After the dishes arrived we noticed they just put a sauce on top (garlic and masala) rather than cooking the fish/ crab in it. Even worse, the crab smell so bad (fishy & like ammonia) that we complained. Unfortunately they were unwilling to admit that the crab wasnt fresh and did not offer any discount. Very disappointing and actually dangerous as Food poisoning is a common result of ingesting bad crabmeat! Avoid this restaurant!

Served us with bad food as in rotten fish very bad service one of the worst in varkala the owner or the man who persuaded us to try was mean afterwards trust me you do not want to try this place it will only ruin your day at a beautiful place like varkala I think all the other cafes are much better than this

Good restaurant with tables on the street. Without pretenses, good food, good service and good price. Its an area full of restaurants and its hard to decide, after trying out several, it looks like the best value for money.

So-so. The waiters are fussy. Feeding also turns out to be some kind of fussy.

We are here for 14 days, unfortunately the Blue Moon completely disappointed. First of all, the waiter wanted us to sit down in his restaurant, when he selected the menu he wanted to force us on something. Although only 6 tables were occupied, the drinks lasted around 15 minutes and the meal a proud 45 minutes. We always waited only 20 minutes for the bill. The portions were very small but at least they tasted good.

Usually a very long wait. Today we sit 1.5 hours and still no food. Forgot about one order. Hardly go back, because Osadochek remained :-(
