Oldest school in Kurakkanni, the Lower Primary Boys School, established by my father, Sri. G. Pachu Pillai, more than one hundred years ago, continues to provide good quality primary education to the local kids. I have been a proud student of this school until my 4th standard. My father was the Manager and Head Master of the school at that time. This is the school along with the Lower Primary Girls School, again established by my father, on the other side of the road, that educated many generations of local population. Currently, both schools are run by the Govt. of Kerala as my father gave up the administrative control of the schools many years ago.
