I visited this place during my Varca visit. Its a small, cosy place hosted by a very humble family. I tried several dishes puri and bhaji, chicken samosa, Fish Thali, Coffee. The food is authentic and cooked by locals. The preparation is homely - not like heavily garnished restaurant food. The fish thali was just amazing. The best part is cost. The food is light on stomach, lighter on pocket. The owner couple is very friendly and an authentic guide to Goa. They were happy to recommend me other restaurants to try authentic Goa food.If youre in South Goa, its worth your time and money.

Superb food. Very tasty, wholesome and affordable. Their Thali meals (they have options of Veg, Fish, Chicken & Special Fish) are a must try. The Thalis are served between 12.00PM and 03:00PM. Being a vegetarian had the Veg option (Rs. 100) and was so impressed, that I could not help myself and ordered a second one. The Fish Thali is Rs.120 and Special Fish Thali is Rs.160 and the Chicken Thali is Rs.150. They have a host of other options too. Must try!

The restaurant is a small cosy place and the staff is very helpful and supportive. I wanted to try something goan and the chef suggested me a dish of prawns. To be honest is forgot the name but it consisted of prawns and vinegar. The dish was absolutely amazing. Nice place to go. Would definitely try and visit again when in Goa

Its what you get, when a warm loving family opens its door to strangers. Clean and simple but warm and soulful, the description fits to the food as well as to the people who run it. Do try the veg thali, lightly spiced goan home cooking. And when youre done return for some more as we did to a completely different but equally delicious assortment the next day.

Once in a while only once a while you come accross food which leaves you in wonder. Wonder of skill, spices cuisine and how perfection comes neatly arranged in a thali. Goa can be challenging for a vegetarian especially one searching for local food. And the search ends at Costal cafe, Varca. Cant recommend the veg thali more. Pickles to hospitality all heartwarming and visitworthy. Miss at your own risk!!!

A small, clean & homely restaurant at Varca South Goa. We had King fish thali for just Rs. 180. Cooked very tastefully and yet light on the stomach. The meal consisted of one medium piece of fried fish (sweet & sour thanks to home fermented vinegar with various spices), one vati shark ambot tik (an original Portuguese dish, others generally replace shark with mackerel), one vati mackerel curry, one vati of dry shredded prawns, one vati kokum and of course plenty of rice (sans baking soda). Believe me, for this price with four fish types its a steal. Served with love, attention and care by the warm, soft hearted and passionate owner Aselmo. Very few owners like him take special interest in their customers explaining the process of their internal food making. Kitchen is open for viewing providing customers with confidence. We were fully convinced that such small eateries can easily give bigger restaurants a run for their money.
