This has been our regular haunt for birthday presents, kids activities, home decor (frames etc.) and so much more. For a small shop you get such a great selection, great prices and always lovely service. I would go out of my way to shop here.

Always helpful staff and a wide variety of art supplies. My kids and I find most things we are looking for without trouble. Framing center staff is very helpful and clear about prices and timing.

So glad there’s an art store right downtown! The staff there are so friendly and helpful. Jess gave me a most detailed run down of their basic watercolour products and I found exactly what I wanted :)

DeSerres has always been my favourite art store. My sister used to work at this location and everyone seems friendly, knowledgeable and are very helpful. Theyve branched out into more crafts and other projects (such as tie dye and puzzles, among others) beyond the traditional arts of drawing and painting. Its an absolutely great place for children and adults alike to get into art or continue their artistic journey.Definitely worth a look around, you might be surprised with what you can find!

Great place for artist grade and student grade art materials. They have more products in their online stores than the physical ones but you will definitely get what you need. I have shopped at Blick art materials and Jerrysartarama in the USA and I can say Deserres has really competitive prices. There are sales items in the top floor where you could find a steal. I love coming to the store to get my stuff and also buy online because they ship the items with great care 💕

I walked in and was so impressed with the variety of crafts! They have a lot of drawing and painting. A bit less for felting or invitations but I thoroughly was amazed at all the ideas I gathered.Second floor are frames - a bit pricey.Lots of parking in the lot!Highly recommend this place, prices are reasonable.Tip: bring student card for 10% discount.

The service Ive gotten is great, the Deserres art brand is disappointing, particularly the colored pencils. Id rather use Crayola color pencils. I wouldnt even consider these good enough for a high-school project. The watercolor paints under their brand are entry level as well. Im not at all interested in trying their other products. :(

Good customer service! The watercolor pad I purchased was deteriorated (sizing gone bad). I did not realize this until I finished 4 pages and found it was very difficult to apply watercolor on some area. I returned the item to the store and they refunded it for me.

Best spot for art supplies. I find also for best prices. I also recommend checking out the clearance sections every now and then!

The staff here are usually helpful and friendly. I dont want to present this as a rant. But the staff I dealt with today (male) was quite rude, moody and snippy. I understand that he could been having a bad day? But dont spread the negative vibes to shoppers. Not a good experience there today.

Well laid out art supply store. Lots of selection and a wide variety of products. Theres parking to the West of the store or some parking on the street. Clearance area on the second floor. Helpful staff.

Reasonably priced canvases, a good selection of drawing and painting supplies. Last time I went i accidentally spent $130 because I was like a kid in a candy store: Look they have resin! So many sizes of canvases, I better stock up. Theres art books too!!- type thing. Quite nice indeed.

I visited Deserres as I am working on a new project and needed to gather a few supplies that I did not already have in my collection. I love wandering the aisles anyway, but on this day, I was on a mission. I asked staff help in locating the product I was in search of. Not only did the staff person know where it was, but they were also well informed on how to use it, and had suggestions about the project I had in mind.The cashier was equally friendly.I gave this experience a 5 out of 5.I love purchasing art supplies and Deserres is my go to when Im getting them.

Great selection of paints considering everywhere else is sold out. Staff were helpful but had to wait to pay despite the store being virtually empty.

Great shop! Staff are friendly and helpful, students can get a 10% discount at all times. Prices are reasonable. One of the best places for art supplies.

Even after almost a year of COVID I dont think theres a shop I go thats a fastidious as DeSerres. Big selection, damaged by COVID of course (the oils section a bit of a wasteland) but still a great collection in one stop for a lot of what youre looking for. If youre a miniature hobbyist like me theres no excuse not to visit DeSerres if youre going to Central Hobbies. The two places are made to complement each other! Let art dorks and mini nerds unite in art!

Favourite art store in Vancouver

The shop itself was well laid out, very clean and bright. Staff seemed friendly and helpful. I will just mention to be careful with the parking (this is not necessarily a fault of the shop, but a warning nonetheless) as following the painted arrows will NOT get you out of the lot... It will get you stuck behind the building. I only got out because I have a good backup camera!

I never go to Michaels anymore. This is where artists should go!

Very reasonable prices for artist quality craft supplies and paints. Quality level of paints are clearly labelled for student and professional.

This store is great for their extensive pen and marker collection. They have more markers than Michaels and/or Opus, and they have pretty decent deals too. They are a bit lacking in crafty supplies, like for beading or stencil making or collaging. It seems that their focus is more on canvas or paper art work with colored mediums like ink, paint, pastels, and pencil crayons.

This is one of my top 3 favorite stores. DeSerres is art supply store, so they have an amazing selection of paints, mediums, canvases, and tools but they also stock many wonderful craft projects. DeSerres definitely has the ultimate selection of paint-by-numbers.

Serious paranoia in this store.. make you feel like a health risk to them even if you wear a mask.. if you are so scared of people and stupid covid get another job i just hope its was just one paranoid employee otherwise perfect store for those people praising the news.

Did not have what I wanted on sale and prices were high.

This place is just down the road from where i live !I always go there if Iam looking for something different, art shops have so many interesting things to sell.i use to work in an art shop in downtown vancouver in the late 60s .I have had a picture framed here and they did a wonderful professional job for about $70.00 . It was a little painting by a canadian artist about 13 inches by 2 feet approx.The other day i picked up a little bottle of acrylic white paint to make a pirate costume, it turned out great.So go and wander around the store take the kids they will love to look at things, they also have drawing classes for kids

I really valued the customer service, it was my first time there and I found some prices really expensive and others not so bad. Great customer service.

The store is following good safety practices to help control the spread of COVID. Although some of their products were in short supply, for obvious reason, they still had an excellent selection of art and craft products. I enjoyed slowly walking around to see everything. I left with a new pen and ink book, watercolour paper a some new paint brushes. They had a selection of products for almost any budget. This was my 1st time in deSerres but it wont be my last. I would recommend this location.

As a Watercolor Artist, I find that they have wider selection of art supplies in connection to my medium such as Watercolor paper and brushes. Supplies that are great quality that wont break the bank.

Lots of art supplies, books, puzzles and things for kids. Prices are a little higher than big box stores but they also sell many things that the big box stores dont have.

The only place which I found Artography for my paintings .They have very comprehensiveArt equipments.I searched their website and called them then I picked it in store.

Wide selection of art and craft supplies just not as large a range as the store on Broadway that recently closed, nor is the staff as experianced. Staff is helpful and reasonably well informed, prices are not cheap but generally better quality products and service than you would find at Micheals or the like. Would have been 5 stars if the staff and product selection from the Broadway store carried over to this location.

Some of the shelves are empty without any goods. Its not like Montréal branches at all.

Went to both stores on West Broadway ave and on Grandview hwy. Courteous staff. Nice variety of products. I recommend those stores.

Great place for all your art needs. I could not find indigo dye here though, or a stylus for wax resist Easter eggs (pysanky). Would like more acrylic paint sets. Otherwise good.

Great staff, good rewards program, and a discount for students. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and will give honest advice if you ask. Huge variety of products and good prices (the lowest Ive found for canvases, paints, acrylic supplies, and quality pens). Def recommend!

Thats a very interesting place for art resources. They have materials ranging from many different areas, from drawing to clay, and the staff is incredibly friendly.

The staffs are very very helpful and knowledgable. Helped me to find what I was looking for. I was looking to create the effect with watercolour, the staff was able to do demonstrate a demo for me. They offer classes. Lots of art supplies.

Its kind of like a mini Michaels. Has a bit of everything for all ages. Paint, canvas, markers, jigsaw puzzles, yarn... Prices seem average. They have classes as well that are reasonably priced and often include supplies.

Always an easy shopping experience, and they usually have what I need. Wish they had better security in their parking lot, though.

Dont really shop for art supplies so I cant comment on cost and quality. The shop was very clean and tidy and the staff very helpful picking out a gift. Best part is that it seemed a majority of at least the DeSerres brand paint supplies are all made in Canada. Will shop here again just for that.

This is one of my favorite art supplies store. This location and the one on Broadway are both well stocked and the service is always welcoming and helpful. Here you can find less main stream craft supplies and their prices are good too. Love it!

DeSerres has a great selection of art supplies and is a bright cheery place. For some items, it even has the cheapest prices in town. Also, they carry a few things that other art places dont have such as certain Canson pads.

Alot of empty racks and supplies missing

Theyre the only store near me that carries Ecoline Watercolour Ink, and Im so happy they do! I really like how organized and friendly the staff are, in addition to the cleanliness of the store. My only negative opinion is that a lot of things tend to be out of stock such as specific paintbrushes, watercolour inks, nib holders, etc.

Small, but great place for gift hunting, Xmas, Birthday etc. Staff is very friendly. Love to go there just to look whats on sale. Schetch book cheap during back to school time. Easy parking, street ot parking lot on the West side.

Once you walk into the store you are overwhelmed by the shelves of art supplies. I purchased two sets of oil pastels for my daughters (one set for each daughter) for their art class. Their art teacher told all their childrens parents that he recommends the oil pastel that I purchaed and several parents came and asked me where I purchased them from. So Deserres, be happy that I gave them your business name and address and had more customers drop by and buy more oil pastels!

They have an ever changing stock.. the wool section is gone!They are a smaller version of Micheals. More specialized, I suppose. In contrast to michaels i did find many nibs for dip pens. Not so diverse in the ink..For example, I wanted aquamarine ink... not your standard blue or black. But so what? People here are friendly and somewhat knowledgeable. They have student discount, loyalty program and some on line deals. It wasnt busy... apparently more folks shopping from the website instead of in person. But then am I writing this review for not? 😐

Convenient to get to from Renfrew station just a block away. Store is always well organized; but there is a lot to take in as there are lots of supplies. Its good to ask the staff for help if you need specific items; make sure to check in advance as some items tend to go out quickly. Student discounts applicable!
