A now iconic venue of course but kept genuine and service led watering hole. Great setting and great tunes so my calling in for one turned into a few! :)

Cozy place with good athmosphere. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are many types of gin, the service is really great. We spent a half day here :))

A pub that we visited given its connection to Oliver Reid. In all honesty, this is now a pub that could really do with being updated. It is a bit grubby and only has 1 bathroom that was so smelly I had to leave. I could not have went again. This is a shame as it has a terrific gantry.

5 stars for Oliver Reeds last known bar, a strangely British place with well known UK beers and ciders mixed with local craft ones. Yes its a tourist trap but the staff are helpful, the prices fair and if youre not inspired to watch Gladiator to spot various locations then theres no hope.

Great little find amongst the more high class bars and restaurants in Valletta. The rock music initially attracted us, but we ended up speaking with some of the other patrons and it turned into a 3-hr session. We were eventually kicked out at 1am sharp due to Covid restrictions, but an excellent selection of beers, wines and whiskys and friendly staff. Probably not the place to visit if youre getting all dressed up for a night out

Always wanted to visit The Pub after hearing lots about it. Its a tiny little boozer, however the staff are really friendly and have lots of interesting stories. Its also famous because Oliver Reed died their while filming Oscar winning movie Gladiator. I was told by the barman that pub used to be a chemist and the owner purchased it and turned it into a naval boozer that it is now. When you go inside you can see lots of photos of naval vessels. Plus upstairs you can sign your name on the wall so remember to bring a felt tip marker.

Full of Royal Naval (RN) and British history from the time when Malta had a British naval base. The place where Oliver Reed drank during the filming of the Gladiator. He suffered a heart attack during an arm wrestling and drinking competition and later died. Found just off the Main Street up the side of the government buildings. Good cold beers. Seating outside. Go upstairs To see the amazing graffiti.

Quaint, typical English pub. Set in an ambience of memories, and presence, in their Senior years, of former British Royal Naval personnel and other military services. Also known as being the favourite watering hole of the famous, talented, British Actor Oliver Reed. Reed passed to a better life in this very same Pub. Back then he was on Malta filming the movie Gladiator with Australian actor Russell Crowd.

Wonderful British oasis in the middle of Valletta. Such fun! We went there every night we were there. Must say, though, although many people have signed their names on the walls upstairs, it might be time to make it s bit more user friendly for people who want to sit and drink. Review №99

The vibe here is completely different from other bars in Malta. A huge British flag is draped across the ceiling, the clientele is composed mainly of expats and visitors from the Isles, and at some hours of the day a large group forms outside and sings drunken sailor songs. Dont be discouraged from entering if the crowd outside looks raucous; there is seating upstairs as well. Free WiFi for customers. Bowl of peanuts available. Although not necessarily Maltese in character, this is nonetheless a Valletta icon worthy of stopping into.

Tiny little pub with a great atmosphere and some interesting, if macabre, history. Good for rowdy nights out if you can get in and good if you like hanging out with sailors when they’re in port. Not good if you’re an alcoholic hell raiser.
