The slides were fun and my kids had a lot of fun on the climbing wall and the trampoline bungee. The gondola ride up was fun. It was cool to see all the people riding the bike trails below us and we also saw some deer. The grounds were beautiful and we took a little walk on the bike path and found a rustic bridge and a river.I would have given a higher rating had the ropes course been open, which is the only reason we went. We werent told the course was closed when we bought tickets.
Writing from the perspective of a summer visitor really only interested in the mountain coaster: First of all, there are two parking structures in Vail and both are free in the summer during the day (you have to pay to park overnight.) The mountain coaster is at the Lionshead village, at ticket windows near the gondola. A ticket for one coaster ride includes unlimited gondola rides on the one right there, one in Vail Village (the other parking structure) and at Beaver Creek. The two Vail villages are both pretty touristy, with nicer art shops and cheesy tourist shops as well. Its also invariably crowded, but its very pretty, with an overt European/Swiss architectural style. Everything to eat is expensive. The coaster itself is at the top of the Lionshead gondola, and you do the ride down before the lift hill brings you slowly back up. Its a nice coaster with good views, very smooth, and the ride operations team is very professional and follows all the rules (long hair in a bun!)
Best skiing resort I have ever been to! The ski school is amazing and the mountain has a huge variety from greens, blues, blacks, and double diamonds. They have bowls on south side of the mountains and well groomed greens and blues on the north side of the mountain. They also have parks and areas for families. Chair lifts are good and the gondola is really nice. Staff is really nice and the view at the top is amazing! Wish I could do more than 5 stars!
Pictures and description doesn’t describe unit 302. Compare the actual pics taken March 2021, to the pics on the website, please ignore our personal items, the pictures just reflect the bulky furniture, not at all like the website pics. The web description state entertainment center with multiple speakers, there is actually a flat screen with just the TV speaker. Website states well-maintained, there are actually holes in the walls. It is an easy walk to the West Wall lift.
An upscale resort destination better than any European ski village , like Disney but for SkiingDozens of beautiful hotels and intimate restaurants, shoppingNo cars in the village, really beautiful and top notch skiingThere is a nice hike along the river that runs through townGreat food all around, lots of fireplaces everywhereA bit pricey, but definitely worth visiting at least once
Vail is a nice place to ski with innumerable choices for runs. There is a front AND back side of the mountain, all accessible from lifts in Vail Village itself. Ultra beginners might have a hard time sticking to green routes but its possible. Stick to the mid or east side of the resort for an easier time. Theres always some colorful characters around, regulars, and tourists.
Amazing resort, feels like you are in a European town. Walking around Lionshead especially is magical. They have tons of gift shops, Starbucks and even a Haagen Daz (delicious) you can go on the gondola, summer tubing, zip lining, ropes course and alpine slide. Great spot for anyone and everyone! Also gorgeous hikes and views
Awesome two days of skiing for our family!! We found a great deal on a hotel so we made a long weekend of it. Our seven year old got to ski the back bowls and had a blast!! Our five year old felt super comfortable skiing the greens. All of the staff from the pass scanners to the restaurant cashiers were so friendly and helpful. Restrooms in Eagles Nest were clean. I think it’s our new favorite resort!! Just wish the traffic home to Denver was better lol.
It takes a long time to get to the good terrain. Some days I spend more time traversing than descending. Plus its overpriced.
I have called several times with a season pass issue. I cannot reach anyone in the Unites States who can help. I have been transferred 5 times and my call was disconnected twice. I keep being placed on an endless hold when I ask to be transferred to customer relations and not sales. Vail Resorts customer service is atrocious. I get better customer service from a mom and pop ski resort! What a joke!
Crazy experience purchasing 4 Epic passes. Web site not terribly user friendly. I messed up picture upload wrong picture - can’t edit even though still pending. Could not add all family members to account. Called customer service. There the fun begins. Very poor offshore call center. Poor language skills. Illogical explanations. Hung up on me. Finally spoke to supervisor, after 3 failed calls who added other family members but could not help with picture upload error. Would think Vail could do better serving customers.
Great resort with tons to do for whole family. We went for mtb trails. There arent a lot but the ones they have are pretty good. They have a super long pump section on one of them thats pretty unique and fun. Some of the trails are blown out pretty bad but the rest are super fun. Good place to bring a family as the town had all the eminities.
Spent the day downhill biking. What a blast! The gondolas were easy to get on and off with the bikes and people were always there to assist. It was nice to grab a bite to eat in Vail Village, too. The entire place has a great vibe! Lots of great shops to browse.
Huge mountain! There is no problem finding spots where there aren’t many people. The mountain is so big that you’re not constantly dodging and weaving around other riders. We rode for 2 straight days (Sunday and Monday) and found a new run each time. Friendly staff that are doing their best even through this pandemic. I would definitely come back again! 😊
Fun both in the summer and winter. A little expensive so try to get lift tickets as far in advance as possible or a season pass. Pack a lunch and save $20 to $30 for relatively basic food. Skiing is epic. Hiking and mountain biking in the summer is fun too.
It all depends on what you consider fun. We arent big roaming through the streets shopping people, but we love to find good, local restaurants and hikes. Downtown in very touristy and cute. Tons of shops and restaurants. The town is extremely outdoor friendly...volleyball, tennis, golf, etc. We rode the gondola to the top of the mountain and there were zip lines and a roller coaster, as well as a bar and stunning views. Hiking paths as well. We also rode down the mountain on bikes. A LOT of fun and beautiful scenery. The altitude got to us a little but just be sure to be aware of that.
We took the Gondola and did the mile hike to the childrens activities center. My daughter had a blast on the trampoline. Rose who was working made her feel so special and helped guide her to do the tricks she wanted to do. Very beautiful views and the grill had excellent food. A very memorable experience and a huge shout out to Rose!
A fun week, mostly felt Covid safe and the staff were very good about enforcing rules. There were the few inevitable people being arsey about masks etc but not enough to ruin the fun. The mountain was fun but fairly flat with few challenging runs. We stayed in Lionshead and the village was very picturesque. Would probably visit again for the powder in the back bowls and the ledges to jump off.
Vail is super cute but tailored to shoppers- lots of spendy boutiques and fashion stores, which isnt why I go to the mountains. Also, I had a rude waiter serving me lunch here. I kept it at four stars because the aesthetic is very picturesque.
We had a great time in Vail today! We bought a gondola pass with lunch, went up the Eagle Bahn first, did some hiking, ate lunch at the top, then went down and went up the Gondola One for another short hike. Really appreciated the free parking and walking sticks (ski poles) to borrow at the top. Everyone we came in contact with, from the ticket counter to the gondola staff to the greeter at the top went out of their way to be friendly and helpful.
As a first time skier, it was an amazing experience. Took lessons with Jeff and he did an amazing job to make me more excited about skiing. Highly recommended
Love the place . It’s worth it 😊
A nice mountain, but there are so many better experiences on a mountain available in the area for a lot less money. My son and I paid $440 for single day passes and had to wait 20+ minutes to take the gondola up. Factor in the $55 for 2 turkey wraps and 2 Gatorades, and the value for the day was just not there. The picture is the top of the Lost Boy trail.
Id never been to any ski resort without snow. Much to do in the summer too. We rode the gondola to the mid-mountain area and hiked across the mountain. Trail was great for us as we were not ready for more than a short hike this day.
Simply sensational. Best skiing experience I’ve ever had. Pricey destination but well worth it for the array of trails available.
Honestly enjoy spending time in Vail Ski Resort (pow pow powder)!! Back bowls are amazing and peaceful while at the same time a touch of Europe in the base camp with amazing food and drinks !!
First time in Vail. For comparison, my other skiing resorts: Aspen, Lake Placid, Park City Utah, St. Anton, Lech, Zillertal, Kitzbühel (Austria), Garmisch, and Cortina (Italy).Snow is great, the Back Bowls live up to their reputation if you have powder snow. Without the right conditions, the bowls are ... simply a vast South-facing skiing area. But maybe the safest and one of the best off-piste experience you can find anywhere with beautiful nature views. The terrain is family friendly but not thrilling, some runs are really nice, but few are very long. If you look for a Lech experience of never ending runs, you won’t find it in Vail. The more challenging/steep runs are not groomed and 100% moguls. Seems to be a Vail thing to love moguls. Why are all black/double black runs moguls? Limits your ability for a fast&vertical and more Alpine skiing experience. Flatten the moguls! The high number of runs make skiing a private event, you won’t meet too many other skiers on the piste. But there is a limited number of lifts, so some waiting time has to be expected. There is a lot of crossing to do to get from lift to lift. Certainly not comparable to the Austrian high tech resorts with their abundance of lift capacity and connectivity. Service is outstanding and helpful throughout. Vail village is old-world cozy, restaurants are excellent. Family atmosphere - no St. Anton Schicki-Micki (which is fine). To the Mountain management: pls build more lift capacity, nobody wants to stand in line.Avoid Saturdays, it gets very crowded.
Amazing place. Beautiful area.
Beat place ever.I think this is my favorite ski resort!
A beautiful resort !Thought it is overpriced !
Cold Snow and fast runs fo shizzo ma nizzo
Ive snowboard all over Colorado and Vail is definitely one of my favorites!! Nightlife is great too!
Have you seen this beautiful Ski Resort in Autumn? It is absolutely gorgeous. It seems everyone knows how wonderful it is in winter, as we could be skiiing, snowboarding there. In fact, Vail Ski Resort is also very popular for summer holidays when people would be golfing, hiking, fly fishing, as well as enjoying culture festivals there. We visited Veil in Autumn and I love it. With Winter is arriving in Northern Hemisphere, we could find time to go there having fun. Pictures here.
Huge mountain with the most amazing bowls I ever experienced!
Large place, easy to spread out. The view from Eagles Nest Ridge is breathtakingly spectacular. Seriously. But the run is slow, so keep your speed up. The back area is much more wild. Skiing is bigger & better than Breck, but the parking / availability of ski-in, ski-out makes this drop to 4 stars. Some places will store your gear near the lift, so that beats walking far while carrying stuff - but it also adds a stop.
Great during summer to ride down the mountain on mountain bikes and hikes on the gorgeous full oxygen mountain
Over priced, food average, service less than advertised. The summer season is just another tourist trap. Over rated.
Vail Ski Resort makes skiing easy, with all runs on one mountain; however, that is also the reason I only give it 4 stars. There are limited options and longer waits than most other ski resorts, in my opinion. Also, many of the greens may be considered blues, if you are skiing with beginners. Overall, Im happy with my experience in Vail.
Breath taking beauty and runs for everyone from double blacks to easy cruising beginner greens...family fun destination with a town feel that is warming to the soul
Very chill spot to go to for summer or winter vacation. This place has everything you need to start your exploration journey or just chillax and enjoy the scenery. Views of the mountains at a distance is breath taking. Stores and restaurants are all walking distance from hotels and if you want to take a ride East or West theirs more to be scene. Such a great place to go to. I highly recommend it to any one to go there.
Love the wedding deck!! Such a gorgeous place to get married! I love photographing here!
Simply the best. Lots of acreage for all levels. Great snow, great restaurants and lots of galleries.
One of my favorite places to ski in North America. It is an incredible and beautiful resort and town. This is my first time going there in the summer and it has a similar feel but different vibe. The mountain has plenty of summer time activities, including mountain biking, which was exhilarating! We also attended a wedding at the top of Eagles Nest which was very unique and and amazing sight to see.Less than two hour drive from downtown Denver.Highly recommend in the winter or summer
Amazing place for the whole family. In the mountain you can found a lot aventure for kids and also for adults.
Beautiful location with lots more than skiing to offer. There are great shops, restaurants, and amazing views. Its a great place to make family memories, couples getaways, girls trips, or even a solo ski trip. I love the art shops and architecture in the area. Its just a visually stunning area. Everyone will appreciate the heated streets and walkways.
Absolutely an amazing place to ski. The instructors patrolled the mountains and checked on you if you fall. Breathtaking views, with long, exciting run. A must go to ski resort
Ok lets seeVail is a great mountain. Its big, theres always untouched terrain (even in the most crowded weekends)It pricey yes, from lift tickets to a bottled water.Overall its an awesome experience BUT having worked for them for three seasons, I know how much they underpay, overwork and undervalue their employees so thats why I give them 4 stars.
The slopes at Vail are not snowboard friendly, as there are many cat walks. I was among dozens of snowboarders forced to unbind and walk long distances. I also believe some of the greens to be more difficult than other resorts, and I may consider them more like blues. All in all, I don’t believe this resort is beginner friendly or snowboarder friendly.
The guy in the squirrel suit gets 5 stars.
A wonderland of beauty and fun. So many unusual shops and great restaurants.
Great but WAYYYY TOO MUCH WALKING very overrated. It wouldnt be my first pick but I still had an amazing time
My favorite ski resort in this area! I am a blues n cruise skier and there’s so many runs that I love. The facilities are amazing, the snow is always high-quality, and there are relatively short lift lines.
Nice mountain but very strict w rules
Like Nothing on Earth
Good day of early season skiing... Make your reservations to get on mountain...
There is NO PLACE like Vail on this earth. Friends, Food, Fun. Do not miss Betty Ford Alpine Garden or Eagles Nest
Awesome days at the mtn
In summertime we rode the gondola to the top where they have set up amusements. A sled type alpine ride on rails was most fun. Mountain bikers can ride up and ride down. Also a great spot for hikers. Views of the ski runs and Vail Valley are spectacular. NOTE :after 5pm the gondola fair drops from $32 to $15. There is a restaurant on top if you are hungry. We didnt try It.
OK, its very pricey. God, a 3 hrs lesson costs 750$.After having said that, I can honestly say it is worth it. The whole resort is amazing, and amazingly diversified. I have been skiing for about 45 years and this is the best all around ski resort I have skied. Including the ones Ive been at in Europe, Canada and the others in the US.Recommended.
If you can afford it, Vail will not disappoint you. With an elite selection of gondolas and chair lifts, miles and miles of groomed runs for most skill levels, and access for all kinds of snow sports beyond snowboarding and skiing, you will experience an unsurpassed snow vacation everyone will treasure.
First time visit. Enjoyed the hiking at top of lift. Really pricey for the experience.
Everything is so convenient. We stayed at the Lodge at Vail. There was a fire alarm in the middle of the night. The hotel compensated us 20% for the night. That was insanely gracious of them. Would definitely stay here again!!
Took skiing lessons and loved it. Everyone was helpful and guided me throughout the process
One of my favorite ski spots in the US. Good skiing and nice people.
Beautiful day at Vail
Loved it! Its a nice place for families, for mountain bikes, hiking.....
Vail Ski Resort does it right! Wow! From the layout, to the attractions, and most especially the employees. Kudos to your staff for their incredible customer service and amazing can-do attitude. Thank you for providing world class training and your commitment to your patrons.
First time there and cant wait to go back.😀The Farmers market was amazing.
Vail was hyped up and it didnt disappoint. So much to do here and one day is not nearly enough. The runs were great and the view was gorgeous.I did have a bad experience at High Noon where the wait was two hours long. Once we got back up, the wait times vanished. Just bad luck I guess. Other than that, the stores and bars are a nice touch. Awesome place.
Golden peak is for beginners thats where we were it was great. Make sure to get on the gondola it was breathtaking
I love this place in the summer or the winter its the best for skiing around and the best for summer fun. It gets busy any time of year still great place. Ski season is over though so.
Come to Vail they said. Stand in line they said. Dont eat in line they said. It will be fun...they said.Arrived Feb 6 9:20AM, departed 4:00PM. Total ski time 1hr16min per Garmin Fenix 6. The rest was standing in line talking to wonderful employees like Fred (35 years ski school) and Kim ;) regarding the fine points of the county covid regulations.
Just amazing, such a well thought out resort. I have been to France, Whistler and have enjoyed my stay here the most.
One of the best ski resorts and if you know where to ski - a lot of backcountry terrain...I love it.
So many fun things to do here! Carve out at least a solid day for this place. Even in the summer is absolutely gorgeous! A little pricey overall though, so be prepared.
Think BIG! Awsome with kids on the summit. Great view and great employees.
Very beautiful and the resorts are over the top. Allot of traffic so just take public transportation to get from A to B
The most amazing skiing in the USA. So big and vast. The back bowls are superb and a treat to ski on. Service from all staff is overall very good and the lifts and equipment is top notch.
Love this place ❤ Summer is gorgeous here.
