Highly recommend the Full Roaster. Others are okay but not as exceptional. The environment of the shop is fantastic. Hot coffees are amazing but ice coffees need a big improvement. Services are quick and staff are friendly.Latest visit:Significantly improved their ice coffees. Excellent service as usual. Full Roaster not as good as last time though, still, Redroaster Cafe remains to be an amazing place to have breakfast.
The Redroaster Cafe is the kind of place that not everyone will like, but some will love. Its marmite. I found it a bit too poncey for my liking and the service, when taking orders, was very slow. I didnt eat half of my waffle as it was way too rich, but my partner really liked his, and his coffee too. The people were nice and the cafe had great decor, but again there were just small things I didnt like. Such as the tables being badly wiped, meaning there were crumbs and still hair all over it, and we had to wait for the table to dry. I sympathise, as they were rushing to get people seated, but I would rather wait 5 mins for them to clean, the sit at a still wet and dirty table. Overall, this place is nice, but it wont be some peoples cup of tea.
A really wonderful place with a glorious menu and tasty drinks. Staff super friendly and service quick although it wasnt busy when I visited. The decor is delightful, spacious and pretty plants. There is also a garden area to sit in and some tables out front where I sat with my friend. We ordered courgette fritters with egg and dukka. I also had the watermelon soda with lime and cucumber. Really clean, tasty food and refreshing drinks.Definitely recommend.
Stylish and airy with some interesting coffee based drinks with cream/ice cream/syrup, in addition to the “normal” coffee of course. Their menu tells you how their coffee is responsibly sourced from Rwanda and in their roastery they provide job opportunities to people with learning difficulties, which is wonderful
Gorgeous place with amazingly friendly people working there. In spite of being very short of staff which Ive been acknowledged before sitting down the ambience was very chilled and organized. It didnt even take that long. Well I had the whole day to spare but like I mentioned they gave me a choice. It would have been well worth the wait even if I had been in a hurry - menu looks great with loads of variety and interesting twist in every dish. My eggs Benedict with crab was delicious and refreshing elderflower soda just perfect. Thank you team and hope your tough day went well :)
A+++ Excellent Coffee, good food, very friendly staff. Fully equipped for disabled with wheelchair. Its a good place to relax and chat while eating. The evening dinners are of higher class and excellent. But yet remained decent pricing! For that I recommended. Also thats where I met my husband the first time and still married after 12 years ❤🤍💯🆒️🎖👍
Lots of unique hard to find creativity here. What can you say about a place that roasts its own coffee? And takes the time to devise one of the most original menus Ive ever seen? I wish these food artists luck. Anybody with a solid steel staircase is going places.
Great breakfast options. I had the house version of a bacon and egg roll which was with hot sauce and pineapple. Really well made with a really fresh brioche roll and lovely garnishes. Made with skill! Flat white coffee excellent too. Street side dining and top notch people watching on St James’ St. Waitress lovely.
Came here for bottomless brunch, arrived late but the team were very accommodating, especially Ellie, who went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our visit and really made our experience as great as it was! Would recommend, especially if Ellie is on shift!
Mouth watering menu. The crab avocado Benedict is out of this world. The English breakfast is a bit funky with some strange ingredients and no sausage. Poached eggs perfect.Very good ambience and service. I cant wait to go back. Booking advised.
I have lived over the road from this establishment for years. This lunchtime was my first visit in a good 5 of those years. Id heard very good things recently from friends, and the place looks alive and fresh everyday I walk past. I visited today in the hope of finding a little oasis in the sun serving fresh fruity cocktails for my lunchbreak. And I wasnt let down, I was shown straight to a table in their courtyard and promptly served two stunning Fresh Watermelon Cooler drinks. I wasnt rushed, the place looked great, the drinks were exactly what I had hoped for, and was well looked after by Alice, and a trainee named Aaron. a delight of an hour, and will definitely be back. Service was on point :)
Loved this place. We had booked a table for birthday brunch and they did not disappoint us. We tried the chilli eggs, waffles and churros. Everything was delicious. Their menu is very creative and different. Will definitely recommend it.Good job team Red Roaster!
Excellent breakfast and coffee. Great seating.Recommend the Poached Egg with Avocado
A little gem in the back of a busy high street. Food quality. Service excellent .
Food is bang, lamb tacos were phenomenal. Bottomless Brunch was very slow to start due to understaffing and a lack of urgency, but was soon rectified after speaking with the staff. Friendly staff, cute garden, great mirror upstairs for a selfie or ten. Would recommend. Again, food was banggggg.
Eliza gave attentive and a personal service. We were never left dry. Thank you.The venue served gorgeous food. The Thai chicken was gorgeous. My friends vegan ragu was incredible!!
We waited half an hour for our order to be taken, most of the menu was not available, they messed up our drinks order, we waited an extra half hour to be served, finally they charged us a drink twice by mistake. The vegan Ragu and the Fritters were quite good though and the staff was super friendly so I would say avoid busy times, they cant cope
My first time visiting this place, and I wasnt disappointed. Besides the modern, open and stylish decor and sunny staff that really helped set the sociable mood, I was pleased with how flavourful our orders were. They were also presented well. My only small criticism is I wouldve liked my main dish to be a bigger portion, especially at its arguably dear price. Nevertheless, Redroaster has bagged itself a regular customer. Ill definitely visit it again and show it off to friends.
Great venue and lovely staff but a little bit pretentious with the food and high prices. Ok coffee.
Beautiful, creative menu and friendly staff. Delicious passion fruit fizzy virgin cocktail. Unfortunately the eggs were completely cold and not runny. I got given an icing sugar shaker instead of salt and dusted my savoury brunch with it. 🙈No offers to replace or apologies the sugar was just whisked away off the table. Staff didn’t check how we were enjoying our food. A real shame as this place seems to have so much potential.
Nice staff but really slow. The coffee was burnt and not nice. I ordered a cinnamon almond ice coffee from the menu. It was not nice. Beautiful scenery though and the food looked good. Not great vegan options though.
I just had a brilliant lunch here. The lobster club sandwich was do delicious and accompanied by a gorgeous Rose. highly recommend
The atmosphere is great, the portions are very small and service is slow, when my food came out it was cold but i managed to get a refund.
The food was mostly good -- my friends loved their burgers (especially the one that was gold) but I thought the chicken one was not that great and pretty bland. The FRIES however were AMAZING. So much so that we ordered seconds. The coffee was good too. highly recommend. dont forget to try!
Food OK expensive I thought 7 pound bottle Thai beer but not unusual in Brighton. Try it and see wasnt a unpleasant experience
Came here with my girlfriend and we wanted something that was relatively cosy. We were pleased how spacious it was and the fact it offered a good layout. The bar/cafe/Thai restaurant is a good way to entice a varied audience. We had a the 2 for 1 cocktails (well made) and enjoyed a latte. Overall Service was great, and organisation between the staff made it more valuable. Very impressed and will look to bring family in the future.
The vegan burrito tasted like baby food. All 3 of my friends have been vomiting after eating here. Good service but poor food and drink. Dry and flavourless. There were only 2 very bland drinks options for bottomless brunch that we paid an extortionate amount for.
The interior decor immediately takes your eye and it’s no surprise it’s become an Instagram hotspot. The venue looks fantastic and is a really fun environment. The food was good but a bit hit and miss. I ordered king prawn bao buns. The filling was delicious but there buns were thick and extremely doughy - I wouldn’t have said they were “bao” buns. The creme egg dessert was delicious and I really l loved it. Go for lunch with friends but menu needs a little bit of work. Booking is advised as it was extremely busy when we went on a weekends
The food was really great, I think the batch brew was ground a little fine though. Really pretty cafe/restaurant.
Food was great. I ordered the chilli eggs and it was really impressed at the spice level of the chillis. The eggs were cooked to perfection and I really enjoyed my meal. My only gripe was that we waited 15 mins before being given a menu and the food did take a while to come out but I would definitely go back!
Called in for cocktails, service was slow even though it was quiet. Bar was untidy and the toilets were extremely dirty. Wont be going back again.
Unfortunately I didnt personally enjoy the food but the service was lovely
Nice friendly staff. Secluded outdoor seating at the back.
Possible the most disorganised restaurant/staff in Brighton...I tried to get a table here for 12:30 but I got told that by a member of staff that they were too busy to have any more people in the restaurant (the restaurant was half empty) I then went back 5 minutes later and spoke to a different member of staff who sat me down straight away...Bearing in mind the place was half empty it took over 30 minutes to just place an order and then 45 more minutes again to say that they didnt actully have any of the food we just ordered... we then order a posh bacon butty (a small slice of bacon and a burnt brioche bun...) what took over 30 more minutes to comefully understand if these problems were because they were understaffed but there was more staff than customers.....
Chic and trendy bar style restaurant with tree covered outdoor area. Atmospheric all round, and spitting distance from the pier. Modern Mediterranean brunch options ie smashed avocado etc. Very tasty if somewhat small portions. Quick and efficient service. Drawbacks: rather pricey and also somewhat spoiled by being invited to leave a tip despite the bill already clearly including service. That old chestnut...
Watermelon cooler is highly recommended on a nice sunny day sat in the garden! Food was good too!
Ate here after vibing at ranboo my beloved
Great coffee and the Crab Benedict is amazing 😲 Great service too.
Used to be a real cool cafe but now its just modern middle of the road
Delicious food and good service. Ive sat both inside and in the garden and prefer eating inside due to the atmosphere.
Went for bottomless brunch and to be fair, for the price they charge, the food was not quite worth it. It was too sloppy and the baos came soggy and messy. The service was also really slow and we had to order our drinks 4 time and didn’t even get the last order within the 90mins time slot. The restaurant also had a huge bbq next to our table and they kept cleaning it with all the dust coming to our direction. I wouldn’t say it was the best experience for the price.I guess if you come for just brunch it could have been better.
Eliza was amazing this bottomless brunch was everything being from Birmingham it was a great service! Fab fab food was fab!!
Loved this place, the coffee and food were amazing and the girl who looked after us was so friendly and lovely !
Excellent all round. Friendly staff, delicious drinks and food.
Nice place, good service, quality produce and a nice garden out the back. Cozy basement seating too.
Brunch and drinks were delicious, the only downside was they seem to be short staffed and the wait for brunch was an hour.
The Brunch food was good, the Beef Hash with eggs was tasty and filling. They have a big juice menu, with lots of ‘rejuvenating’ options, some of them are a bit thin on flavour and just taste like a weak cordial drink, bit of a waste of time really. The venue is good, with good music and decent bathrooms.
Fab coffee and food, lovely beer garden out the back - one of our fave places!
The coffee was ok & the food was tasty. However I was planning to stay for a bit longer as it was raining outside , I did order another coffee and sparkling water...but the Waiter kept asking me if I want the Bill ?! And he finally brought the bill to me (I didn’t even ask for it yet) as if they want to kick me... for that they deserve 2 stars.
Went for brunch with friends and the food wasnt great and arrived with items missing - I had to make it very clear that I didnt want a side of bacon on its own to make up for this and was offered a very small discount instead. Gnocchi was extremely overcooked so as to be inedible. Mimosas were very weak. Garden area felt very noisy due to the crowd and layout. Not great value for money and I wouldnt return for brunch.
Most awful experience I have ever had sadly, had big expectations due to recommendations. We weren’t even offered a drink we had to pull someone over after half an hour of waiting, took an hour for us to get fed up of waiting for our food so we left. My partner was told he can’t have the bacon taken out of a sandwich even though it was for religious reasons, he was forced to pick something else which there was nothing he liked. The beer he picked he was told after 20 mins there’s none available, he picked another and yet the one he was served was not even on the menu. We were both starving and saved our selves to eat, sat down at 1.10 and left an hour later after only having our drinks and getting fed up of watching everyone else around us get served drinks and food although they were all seated after us. When we were leaving all of the guests knew what had happened and were apologising for the staff. I honestly felt so rude having to complain and having to decline the food as an hour later and it was still not ready to come out, I’ve never in my life had to make a complaint at a restaurant. It’s just not my personality, it was horrible to be put in such a situation.
Lovely place to go brunch and Alice really looked after us
Best breakfast place we found in Brighton.Went back each morning after finding it. The staff are nice and helpful and the food and drink is great. 5 stars for taste and presentation. Good variety ranging across different categories for everyone. Not to busy in the morning and the atmosphere is very laid back, they even have an outdoor seating area in the back. Try it if you have a chance.
Great coffee, and nice food. Staff are friendly and helpful.
This cafe is cool and trendy area with a lovely array of different breakfast types. Theres plenty of seating with more space upstairs and even a beer garden towards the back. I immensely enjoyed my breakfast, with it being flavoursome and adequately sized, I wasnt left hungry after the meal. I would say this place is better suited to adults, whether in a group or alone (as I was), but children can also be brought along.
Lovely coffee shop/restaurant. I gave it a 3 star as one of the dishes we ordered, the chicken was not cooked almost raw. We informed the waitress however she only took the plate back to the kitchen after we insisted that we dont eat raw chicken but 5 minutes later she brought it back the same to us. We just ended up not eating it.
Service was great. Lovely place to chill and wind down, helped by the good mix of music. Staff were very helpful with an allergy information question we had. Food and drink was promptly delivered (but not too quickly)! A good range of breakfasts to cater for vegan & veggy. A very pleasant experience 😊
The restaurant is modern style and quite big. It is cleanish but there is a stain on the cup and scraps on the chair. Atmosphere is very good and also service is friendly. They have a lot of variety of food and drinks. The toilet is fancy and clean because there are paper towel, hand wash and hand cream also there is a disposal envelope for women.
The food is great, the service, not so much. The staff are a bit moody. When we went for a friends birthday bottomless brunch we waited 40 minutes for our drinks, then when we asked for more drinks it took ages, they seemed annoyed that we were asking for more drinks. Go for the food, don’t expect great service!
The overall vibe of this restaurant is great, very cool decor and good music. We went for bottomless brunch but in the end worked out that we would have had to have 7 mimosas each to make it worth the money...That being said the brunch food we had was to a good standard, would highly recommend the eggs over anything else.Service was quick and staff were friendly, felt more like a cocktail bar than a brunch place!
Freshly roasted, ground and hand delivered. Exceptional coffee. What else could you want?
Very polite and helpful staff. However, the food.........was EXCELLENT!!!!
Superb nice cake
