Sevasi Vav (Vidhyadhar Vav) : Situated in the outskirts of the city, on the way to Sindhrot is the 500-year-old Sevasi Vav. Considered as the oldest and most beautiful vav of Sultan Mehmud Begadas time. According to a Devnagari inscription on one of its beam, it was built around 1496 (Vikram Samvat 1549).
Sevasi vav , is a historical & religious place , both together, but being a historical place , its not being maintained , the authorized official should maintain it as a great place to visit once .The architectural structure is very well made & its very strong.A good spot for photography & visit with family. The water in step wall was dirty & garbage & small packets was there.
An ancient place with a beautiful small temple inside. Nice place to visit during the day time. A peace and calm place where you can sit peacefully without any interruption. Sevasi village people take care of it.
Historical monument need to be taken care by Government or by Local Body..... Very worst and poor cleanliness and no maintenance at all.... Surprise to see how worst the Government as it the responsibility to take care and save our historical monument and culture.... Need immediate action on this by Government
It was okay not as expected but goof enough. Can get hot in humid weather as its underground quite a few floors. But its a cool place for clicking pictures. It also has a temple under there if you want to visit that.
Great place in vadodara thar resemble the heritage time of maharaja gayakwad..
Amazing. Everyone must visit. This seems a real hard work. Its of 5 stored deep. Superbly managed. U can never ever get this kind of solid construction in todays world. Its a heritage. Plz go along with ur kids. Let them see instead of passing time in mobiles and understand that how beautiful India used to be. Let them also feel proud to be the Indian. Thanks and Regards 🙏.
Great place to explore, only in dry season, as the steps get really slippery and its hard to balance. Otherwise, very silent atmosphere and great feeling.
Not like seen in pictures...poorly maintained
Beautiful place but government forget to maintenance. Government should look for that
Bau saras Vav che.. Visit for every time lots of small nakashi drawing their wall.
Its a historical place almost 500 yrs old step well with 7 levels. Its construction is beautiful. But not maintained well, it stinks on the lower levelsCan get good photos of its architecture. But small place cannot spend more than 1 hrs max here.People do walk on frames but i wont recommend as its too risky.
Its superb and quite place. And the atmosphere is superb
Its not crowded, amazing place for a photoshoot.
Very old yet classic wav.Request not to make it polluted
This is not a famous vav but its old heritage is great
The step well is beautiful it has its own Beauty but it needs to be maintain well
Ancient glory of Baroda..!! Historical..Local People need to Maintain cleanliness here..
What amazing place to visit near in the City this Heritage site it is awesome because when you enter in the stepwell it is up to 40 foot Deep from the ground
Beautiful and Majestic Place... Historic place but yet neat and very clean. Must visit attraction if you are History and architectural lover
According to me this is best vav after rani ki vav
The place is in Devasi, Near by Brand Factory, on road towards Sindhrot, place is photogenic , and can have glimpse of step well too, must visit back side of Vav , with deep well .
The place can me maintained properly, no security or any other facility developed. Request authority to maintain it properly as its declared as monument also.
One of the few step wells where you can go right to the bottom. May not have as many carvings as Rani-ki-vav or Adalaj-vav but still worth visiting. Very few visitors, nice. Pics attached.Tip : Easy and cheap way to get to Sevasi from Vadodara.City Bus 27A starts near Vadodara Station opp Sayajigunj Police Station and terminates at Sevasi. There is a enquiry counter under the badam tree. Ask for departure time.Bus stops very close to the vav.Travel time is approx 15 minutes, cost Rs 11.
A beautiful Stepwell on the outskirts of Baroda. It is used as a temple by the locals, and since it isnt popular yet, one can spend enough time here in solitude. The stepwell goes seven storeys below ground, the bottom of which is still accessible, and has marvelously detailed stonework.
Stepwell shows Vadodaras rich heritage ...💝
500 Years Old Stepwell. Located in outskirts of Baroda but it is worth visiting there. You can sit and relax for 20-30 mins with friends and family. Sevasi Vaav is jist Woww..!!
Wonder place nice see now.
Place is good but it seems there is no maintenance
The step well is open for every one, but its getting in in shape day by day. Its very cool and humid down. You can see the bottom of the well. Water is not there inside. Locals have made puja / havan kind of arrangement inside which is spoiling the walls of the step well. Archeological survey of India doesnt support this 500 year old well. I mean they used to but now they dont. Locals have tried to repair the walls, but it need experts who restore old buildings. But I can say if go downstairs you will experience a different world. Its very pleasant down. Sunlight is excellent inside so no need to worry for insects or snakes. Steps are clean. Bottom is covered with dry trash like plastic bottles etc. The well is beside the main road but due to illegal construction of Shops on the road, the well is hidden.
Worth seeing but regret to say that it is not looked after with care by the Gujarat government nor the Archaeology department of India. The structure will soon collapse if not looked after. Besides the local people have not kept the place clean. It needs maintenance. Its a structure Vadodra should be proud of. Architecture and technology of construction is worth seeing.
Cool place to visit with dear ones.
As mentioned its a step well, a heritage site and an archaeology site. Good place to get symmetry photograph and peace. You can actually feel the cold vibes as you go down stairs. The entire structure is made up of stone and craving on it can be seen clearly. In the mid of the well there is also a temple. Surrounding villagers do care about this site, and make sure that traveller dont misbehave in this place mostly the teenagers.
Its really a beautiful step-well.One should definitely go for a visit. The cleanliness is bit of concern.
It is also known as #Vidhyadhar Vav and its 500 year old. it is located around 8-10kms from vadodara city. also considered as the oldest and most beautiful vav of #Sultan Mehmud Begada’s time in 16th century.A stone masonry at the entrance has a name inscribed in Devnagri script. The gate has two tigers carved on the left and two elephants on the right. Stepwells were used to store rain water, and also became sources of legends.
Old step well, should be undertaken by Archaeological Department and taken care, before its completely vandalised and dilapidated.
Its a osm place.... Me and my frd family lots of enjoy....
Nice and historical place away from City , so do visit in morning or evening. But remember Its far from main city.so manage your time .
Nice place to see the beauty of step well, this place is historical and geometry is very perfect that steps are aligned with middel frame portion 0f well.
Very good place for photography
Place looks good in photograph only. Very dirty, no one mentained it. You can go there just to click good photographs. There is a temple in the stepwelll.
Haritage placeVery old and beautiful
Great infrastructure but not maintained well
Very beautiful place but you wont find peace at all. Because majority public came for only photoshoot and makes place annoying.
A small stepwell, but a good place to visit in the morning or afternoons
Visit if in Baroda. Nice place to click few pics
Very nice stepwell. There is a small temple inside stepwell.
Not at all maintained. Pathetic condition.
Awsm place to see the real architecture an art Above 500 Years old Awsm
Less crowded place and not maintained. We were standing besides well and asking for the direction to local but no one was aware of it.. after asking 5-6 ppl then we finally got someone who could direct us properly
Place is great but it is not maintained, its not clean except the temple area.
This well is also called Vidyadhar ni Vav and is nice and clean place to visit. There is also a shiva temple inside the vav and hence one needs to take off shoes while going down the stairs. The well is mostly dry and seldom gets water at the bottom. However, the architecture is nice and majestic which is an attraction by itself. One can also go to the top and view the well vertically from the top.
Great historic place...The legend is that they used have 12 year old girls being sacrificed here the moon god....A place amidst the nature...Quiet and peaceful....Great architecture...
Yaa its cool place for photography..
Historical place which made by king
One the best heritage place in sevali
It way 5to 6 km from Gujarat refinery township and vadodara city
Old step well nice place to visit, historical importance, nice public attraction, safe to visit, had good quality construction and also has some beautiful views, some perspective Angle are amazingly fantastic it is also a good place for photoshoots
Really worth to visit
Very nyc... Historical place.. usually vadodara is aware of this beautiful old archeologically important place. Water has dried up here therefore one can go to the depth of the well. There are no specific way to move across the well instead move along tge wall by narrow constructed walls.. therefore adventours too.
Nice place
It is fabulous place in Vadodara.....
Its really a good place to visit with child.
Awesome.and marvelous architecture...
Symmetry of structure is mind blowing !Do visit if you have 15 mints in your schedule while exploring Baroda Gujrat !
It is a good quiet place to sit and spend sometime. But the cleanliness is bit low so one cant stay there for long. Also water is not pure there as it is condemned over the period and not maintained. Still there is a small idol of lord Shiva where you can sit and meditate for a while
Its was absolutely breathtaking
Herritage place but poorly maintained.
Heritage step well. Its just a photography place and its beautiful example for art lover who are into designing field.
Good place for photography , not well maintained but u can use it for pre-wedding Photoshop or normal shootout. Half an hour max to explore it. No need to government permission or guide.
Its very cool place..even though its very hot outside, when we get into sevasi vav the place is cool.
Nice place to visit in Vadodra if an ancient step well will interest you. It is not taken good care of by thre #historicalsocietyof india at all. Government of India unfortunately has been neglecting it pushing it to deteriorate! Very sad!
Beautiful.... Now its time to take care of this VAV by government and specially take care by Vadodara municipality
That place was too holy and represents our cultural architecture but the only problem is that government is not taking care about its cleaning and maintenance.Even the water is somehow transparent clear but people have thrown so much plastic waste in it, this is shameful 😕
