Apparently, it’s beautiful! Unfortunately we visited pretty late and the guards very restlessly began asking the visitors to leave as it was nearing the closing time. All we could see was the entrance and a little bit of the architectural marvel just as much as we could. Hope to visit again soon and share more.

The most amazing part of a place is when you feel connected to it. The audio guide helped me feeeeel every inch of this place, the grandeur of its built and the stories behind the artisans. The story behind every artefact shows not just the methodical indulgence of the visionary but also the dedication of the finishing touches that every person involved has been beautifully showcased.I am glad that I went at a time when it was not crowded and got to actually focus on all the words that the audio-guide took me.It was a beautiful experience for me.Its a place that not all can understand or enjoy, as photography is strictly prohibited.Hence if you live for social media, I wouldnt recommend for you to pay and visit such place which is made only for people who appreciate art and have importance of it for their own understanding!

The palace is amazing. However some issues were observed during the visit.1. The Rs250 entry fee gives you access to only the ground floor of the gigantic palace.2. No pictures allowed.3. Not worth the money if the structure cannot be entirely covered in the visit.4. Visit gets over even before it starts.

Laxmi Vilas Palace is one of the most majestic structures in India and was the private residence of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III. Known to be the largest private dwelling of the size equivalent to four times of the Buckingham Palace, this magnificent palace is a must-visit when in Vadodara. The striking Laxmi Vilas Palace was constructed in 1890 and took nearly twelve years to complete. Sprawling across an area of about 700 acres, it is still home to the royal family of Vadodara, the Gaekwads. It is built in the Indo-Saracenic style which is a hybrid of the Hindu, Gothic and Mughal architectural forms with the presence of domes, minarets and arches. The Laxmi Vilas Palace incorporates several other buildings within its complex including the LVP Banquets and Conventions, Moti Baug Palace and the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum building. The museum building was mainly constructed as a school for the Maharajas children. Today, it houses an extraordinary collection of paintings by Raja Ravi Verma and various other artefacts gathered from all around the world.
