What a classy and impressive place! Food and service 10/10. I always order takeout from here (fries) and ask for them to be extra crispy.Today I had a problem with my takeout order so I called them. Not only did they make an entirely new order for me (mind you they were also busy) but they were SO kind, professional and caring about the entire situation. I can’t explain how surprised and happy I am after my experience with them today! Employees are always so friendly, warm and inviting. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a genuine and professional dining experience. Xx

One of the worst service experiences Ive ever had. I totally understand that things are difficult with the global pandemic, but this was ridiculous. We were a group of 6 which is a big party to serve but the restaurant wasnt overly busy. The food was good, but over priced in my opinion. When it came time to ask for the bill, we told him that we will all be paying separate. Since the bill was not printed I didnt think this would be an issue. He was very rude and told us that we should have mentioned it earlier and try to get us to pay in groups of 3. With the 18% already added to the bill it would have been pricey for the 2 people covering the bill. The waiter went to get our receipts and tossed them to each of us. I am not one to normally complain as I am in the industry myself, but this was honestly the worst service Ive ever received. The other staff were absolutely amazing. I will never be returning to this establishment.

Four of us ate at the Ambiyan restaurant tonite. They have a deal which was posted on the Aileen Willowbrook site that one will get 15% off one main dish if you order 2 dishes Sunday -Thursday dine-in only until Oct. 13th We complied with all the criteria and yet we were refused the deal . Our waiter was told by management that the deal would only be honoured the next time we visited the restaurant. what kind of nonsense is this? Do not advertise a promotion and then renege on it. The food was quite good but due to this dishonest advertising , the restaurant is not looked upon favourably.

Ambiyan offers a comfortable, slightly high end dining experience with a menu of basic traditional North Indian cuisine. The food was good, but could have been better - especially considering the price of the dishes. The portion sizes were fine and the presentation of the food was excellent, but the taste of the food wasnt as authentic as I was hoping. If you find yourself on Main Street Unionville, I still recommend Ambiyan especially when the patio is open.

I placed a pick up order at the Unionville restaurant and not only were the staff friendly and efficient, but we enjoyed the clean and organized environment whilst waiting for our order. The food was presented beautifully and the quality and quantities was perfect. As for the flavors and taste, the 3 different dishes we ordered were all so tasty and enjoyable and it just kept us wanting MORE! One observation though, the vindaloo could be a little more spicy. This was such a treat and pleasant surprise! My daughter and I will be back!

I would give 4 stars to this restaurant, but there was something wrong with my DINE-IN experience. For the last 1 year, Im ordering food from this restaurant via Uber Eats and Im enjoying the food. Today I decided to go for DINE-IN. For sure, the restaurant is on the main street, why dont enjoy the street and have delicious food. I reserved the table one day ahead (its better to reserve early these days because of the demands of dining in all restaurants).I went there and got the table. The server gave the food menu. THATS IT. I was looking for a drinks menu as well. There was a girl I called her for the drinks menu and suddenly a 45 to 50 years old man comes talking rudely I am your server, ask me whatever you want. Dude! If you are a server you should improve your body language and treat the customers nicely. I even felt bad for the girl, because this 45 to 50 old uncle behaved with her badly too. This kind of situation made me upset.Overall, service wise 1 out 5 (because of that rude 45 - 50 years old uncle). Food-wise 4 out 5.I was reading other comments before writing down my comments here and realized Im not only the one who experienced that rude guy.

First off, the door person and host was amazing. But as soon as our waiter came to our table, he did not look happy to see us and it wasnt that busy at the time. When he asked us for drinks and we ordered just water, it looked like he was not happy with our request. Then when our food came, we were happy with the portion. My friends beef Curry was consisted of beef cheek cuts. Plain English, alot of fat in the beef. That is not what it said on the menu.My butter chicken was fair. The naan was terrible. Thin and baked till it was really hard. Not what I expected at all. I expected the naan to be thicker and soft. I was highly disappointed.Again the service was terrible. He didnt ask us how our meals were and when we asked for another pitcher of water, he did not look happy at all. The water itself didnt taste good either. It wasnt that busy and he just looked unhappy, like he didnt want to be there working. I was highly disappointed and turned off.I told my friend it wouldve been better off going to LaHore Tikka House instead. Definitely not coming here again! Also from the time I left till the next 3-4 hours I felt very heavy and bloated by their food. It was not a pleasant feeling at all.

Delicious food and reasonably priced. The best option for lunch is a fixe price lunch special for $22 (verified Aug 12th 2018--price may change at a later date). The lunch special is in effect from 11am to 3pm. The special includes 1 appetizer, 1 main and 1 side. Normally just the main alone is $19. Service is great with the server ensuring water jug/glasses was always topped up. Would come back again.

Food was very good but the service was terrible. There were around 2 other tables outside and 1 inside but 4 servers, and it took way too long for our server to take our order, and then for the food to come out and for us to pay our bill in the end. The servers were just talking amongst each other the entire time. On top of that, an excessive amount of bees were very disturbing.

The service was good and the atmosphere even better. They had a great pre fixed menue that was affordable and gave you all the options of the mains to choose from - which is very uncommon. Lets be honest here... The food, like others say isnt very authentic. The quality was pretty poor. The lamb $20 had pieces of both tender meats and some that were firmer -probably cooked and added in later. The butter chicken $19 sauce was flavourful but sadly, the chicken was dry. The fish pakora $12 was thin strips of unknown fish with sesame(really?) as part of its batter. The accompanying chutney was OK. The naan $4.25 for plain and $4.75 for garlic was extremely expensive as with the rest of the food. The service was sub par. Split tables, lack of water. Asked for the bill twice.Overall: 1.5 - rounded down because they charged 18% service charge for a table of 4.Food taste: 2Service: 2Price: 1Bottom line: not worth the trip. Save your money and go somewhere cheaper and more authentic. The price they ask for the quality and taste doesnt make sense. Trust me. Ive eaten many places.

Only giving a star for the food, which was decent, but service was terrible. The servers were rude. When we got in, we had to wait because the staff was sitting at the bar clicking away on his phone. We werent sure if he was a staff (there were only 2 servers at the time, maybe he was on break or something but the other one didnt even look at us). Then they gave me a cup with a lipstick stain on it (they did change it when I asked, but not one smile the entire time we were there) and only poured water for one person in the party (the one closest to him). When the table across from us left, he literally just brushed crumbs off of the table to clean it and sent crumbs flying everywhere and towards our table while we were still eating (there are literally crumbs everywhere, even found some on the seats when we got our table). The staff werent very present either, we had to go look for them to get our bill. Not the type of service I would expect from a high-end restaurant serving $20 entrees.

The patio is nice. Service is good, other than the staff forgetting they need their mask to cover their mouth AND nose (a few of them kept on pulling the mask down with one pulling it full down to his chin in order to chew on his nails... kinda weird during our COVID times). Vegetable Samosa was nice (big and tasty). Navratan Korma was also good (but only had 2 chunks of paneer). Malai Kofta was overcooked and mushy in a very strong-tomato flavored sauce (no nutty flavor at all, unlike in many other places). Saffron Basmati was overcooked by a LOT but the naan was nice.

Our Go To Restaurant for Indian Meals. The Quality and service has been consistent, since our very first visit 11summers ago. The Biryanis do not have the over bearing spice that is prevalent in many Indian restaurants all over Toronto. The Butter chicken is Not just the Chicken tossed in a generic gravy. The Chicken Karahi chicken is just delicious and dont get me started on the Lamb Saagwalla...yumm!! The customer service is top notch too. It might be pricey, when compared to other establishments, but you get what you pay for. Flavor and that sense of value seems key when it comes to Ambiyan.
