Food was incredible and the servings are just perfect. Given that this is their first weekend serving the new lunch menu the crew did an amazing job and made sure my friends and I were comfortable. A special mention to the Magic boxes concept, the combination of those three dishes were executed well!

Great place to have fun. With family, children, friends. It’s true I didn’t win, but the decor and fun was great.

Nice fantasy themed surroundings. We had our dinner in the garden. The staff was helpful and most of the food was delicious. I would definately recommend to try the chicken teriyaki and the bruschetta. The pork tenderloin was dry and seemed overcooked and the cheeseplatter only contained two big pieces of regular old cheese, which isnt really what youd expect from a cheese platter. All of the desserts were super yummy. Overall a nice experience. Would recommend to others :)

Een super gezellige avond uit met ex-collegas/vriendinnen. Voor sommige de allereerste keer erop uit sinds het begin van corona. Dus best spannend. Alles was prima geregeld. We hebben heerlijk gegeten en omdat we zoveel bij te kletsen hadden waren we de laatste mensen om het restaurant te verlaten. Personeel was heel erg vriendelijk. Een top avond - wij komen graag een keertje terug!

On July 15, we visited Merlin for my birthday. We first went out for dinner with the family and then reserved an hour of bowling. Because my father can only eat liquid due to illness, we contacted the restaurant in advance to indicate this special wish.On the day of our reservation, the weather was very bad. Despite the fact that we drove away well in time, we were in a traffic jam for more than 1.5 hours. We were therefore unable to be present at the agreed time (half past six). We called 1.5 hours in advance to indicate this. We finally arrived a little before 6. On arrival, the clerk indicated that it was no problem that we were a little later and that we could also stay a little longer.The food was mostly fine. The meat dishes were very tasty and the cook did a good job on the liquid dishes. My father was able to eat well. However, Merlin definitely needs improvement in terms of vegetarian dishes. Not a single vegetarian dish was tasty. The potato tortilla was a cold quiche, the plate pizza was flep and very sweet just like the cannelloni. Sweet potato fries were not sweet potato fries, but cold regular potato with cinnamon. The shakshuka tasted only like paprika powder and contained 2 tough and hard eggs. For me as a vegetarian this was a big disappointment. As a vegetarian you can eat even better at McDonalds at the moment.At 8 oclock we were called away from the table while we hadnt finished our dessert to go bowling. This while my mother was still eating. We werent asked if we were ready. We were simply told to come along. When we arrived at the bowling alley, our lane was already 45 minutes away, so we were able to bowl 15 minutes less. The bowling was fun until a large group of children came next to us, holding all the bowling balls in their hands while waiting and screaming so loud that we couldnt hear ourselves anymore.All in all, our visit to Merlin, despite the fine service for my father, was a big disappointment.

Gezellig sfeervol restaurant met veel heerlijke tapas-achtige gerechtjes naar keuze. Jong en vriendelijk personeel en de gerechtjes worden vlot geserveerd. Maar per persoon reken je met drankjes erbij inmiddels ruim € 40 af en dat vinden we wel aan de pittige kant.

Still very good food, but the quality of the service is deteriorating.The motto seems to be the younger the cheaperwhich may be understandable in corona time.But if you have a wine list on the table with only 6 wines and you order 2x from different clerk and both have to read the card to know which wine you are referring to ....If you are not obliged to get to know them by heart ...All in all, a nice ambiance with delicious food and a few points of interest.Had a great evening

It was too cold inside and annoying when you had to get off the couch to go to the toilet. Food was very tasty.

Merlijn, top restaurant in Oosterhout. One of the best tapas restaurants in the Netherlands (together with t Zusje we think). The advantage here is that you can still enjoy bowling in advance, we are happy to do this. Location is great and in a nice street in Oosterhout! Card changes regularly (every season) so reason enough to come by more often 😁Everything you see in the photos was delicious!Desserts unlimited, and you get all the dishes served simultaneously, also very nice!Be on time with reservations, it is a sought after restaurant, this says enough!

A large ant nest around switching times on the bowling alley. Keeping 1,5 meters away is not possible.

Tasty tapas menu with a lot of variety. Meat, fish and vegetarian are among the options. The desert menu has also been expanded with 20 options.After dinner, you can still go bowling.

Bad service. Certain drink was not possible due to a football match. 50 min wait for drink. Questions were not answered.. too bad!

Food was not great. E.g. Warm dishes sometimes lukewarm, fish salad with only 2 small pieces of fish, spring roll very greasy

Tonight again delicious food at Bistro Merlijn. Had been here before and every time it was great food. Similarly today. After a friendly welcome I was allowed to take a seat in the reception / waiting room because I was early and the restaurant was not yet open. The waiting / reception room was also the bolingbaan room. Because at bistro merlijn you can also enjoy bowling. After about 5 to 10 minutes they came to pick me up to take a seat at my table. Since I had been here before, I knew how their system worked so I didnt need any further explanation. The food was delivered very smoothly after you ordered it. Every dish that I had tasted very good and I enjoyed all the tasty dishes. You can normally eat unlimited food here until closing time. But due to the corona rules they now work with time shifts and now you can stay for 2.5 hours. But this time is really more than enough to eat your fill. Serving your dishes goes through an order form where you have to mark your dishes that you wish to eat. There is really plenty of choice so there is something for everyone. The wait staff / staff are very friendly and helpful. After just under 2 hours I was already reasonably full and went home full but very satisfied.

Yummy! Magic Bites! Very friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. I definitely recommend vegetable dumplings and grilled eggplant with cheese.Then we went bowling and had a great time.

The magic bites are fantastic! But also great to celebrate a childrens party here. Kids loved the Cool Play! An hour and a half was actually too little there😉.Pinball machines, racing, basketball you name it! (ok the fries were weak and not great, but that didnt spoil the fun!) Then another hour of bowling.

In one word, the evening at Merlins was fantastic! The food was presented very luxuriously and very tasty. There were many vegetarian options in addition to the many fish and meat options. The dessert options were almost too many to choose from. The service was super friendly and all in all really worth a visit!In addition, the interior itself already deserves 5 stars! We will definitely come back more often and we have already recommended it to way too many people haha.

Recently eaten at the Merlin .. it was very tasty!Because of corona we were hesitant to go but they have good measures so we just felt comfortable eating here. Due to the side tables, the service is not too close to the table and therefore keeps a nice distance.Just have a look at the new brasserie, how beautiful it is there !! Very different look than the restaurant but very hip.We will definitely come again.
