Very Friendly Staffs, It has authentic south indian tasty foods. I have tried Puri Baji, Rava Masala Dosa, Tea, Gulab Jamoon & Sunday Signature Special Desert all tasted yummy and upto the expectations. Price range is also very affordable. I would recommend this for people looking for Breakfast in udupi. Family and Friends Compatible. There are 4-6 seatings and tables are joinable.
I had the worst experience in this place, we ordered Rawa dosa, mini-meals, fruit salad with ice cream and curd vada.My kids hate to taste fruit salad with ice cream, bcos fruits are not great.Dosa become roasted biscuits, didnt feel like dosa.Mini meals received as regular sambar and meals with does/roti, the expectation was variety rice.We didnt find parking 300 meter away parked my vehicle.Overall worst experience in this place, never recommended for Chennai and Bangalore folks here.
Neat restaurant with some good South Indian options. Good option to spend quality time with your family.Update: After an exciting evening on weekend, I visited the restaurant again on a week day morning at 9:30 AM, to my surprise the service was extremely slow and food options were limited as the preparations had got over. May be it is a norm in Udupi, that people dont visit restaurants after 9 AM, but for me it was really really surprising. I am from Bangalore and here most of the restaurants serve popular dishes till night.
Good ambience, nice vegetarian food, service was quick. Rates are pocket friendly. Can definately visit with family. Its on the ground floor so elder people can also visit without any worries. It has washrooms. Juice, ice creams, special food thalis etc are some things available.
The authenticity of Mavalli Tiffin Rooms has travelled all the way from Bengaluru to Udupi. This place is hygiene and sticks to simple yet luxurious ambience. One can also read about Mr.Maiyyas journey from their art frames on the walls here. The 90s infamous French Fruit Mixture can be savoured here, we have evolved long way with ice-cream since 90s but this vintage custard based fruit salad is worth trying.Their food quality is exemplary, high-quality ghee is used in all the dosas prepared by them and their sambar is lipsmacking.Try Bonda Soup here to enjoy the typical Bangalorean soup. Loved this place and been a frequent visitor with my family ever since.
The food was okay and not so great as one would expect from the MTR.I am comparing this outlet with the ones present in Bangalore and the difference between the two is quite prominent. The service was great and the location is quite easy to access.
I traveled all the way from mangalore just to have lunch here. They serve pure vegetarian south Indian food here. Best to try is the south Indian mini meal, mini breakfast. The quality of the food is excellent, and hygiene is well maintained. Service is good here. Coffee here reminds me of Bangalore darshinis filter coffee. The only drawback is that parking is difficult. Theres no space, you have to park your car near the footpath.
Excellent food quality and hygiene!Slow service can be looked away as morning blues, but overall savoury food and worth the pricing as well. The restaurant was clean, spacious and well lit, get a table by the window for a relaxed breakfast with a 6am view.Bonus : the ghee containers are quite adorable ;)
The ratings that has been given here is not based on the taste and hygiene that MTR provides to the loyal customers of their restaurant. It is about the quality of the food that they offer to their loyal customers who are being served sugar in the traditional Dosa/Wada/sambar etcDeeply saddened to know the fact that they add sugar and they say it proudly. When confronted, they defend themselves saying that other restaurants also do the same. I want every customer fight for their food quality that is being served.I hope MTR realises this and gets rid of all this chemical and sugar additives from their Ingredients list for the health of their loyal customer base.
Its nice place to Hang out if you are in mood to try south Indian cuisine.
We always go to MTR... Love the food... Especially the masal dosa is so yummy... But today unfortunately the taste and service was not good... Consistency of food can be improved....
MTR1924, Udupi...well known brand for authentic vegetarian food. Must visit for tasty tiffin and vegetarian dishes....very heigenic and spacious restaurant. They served ravva idli or dosa items with ghee and pure filter coffee available. Service boys are very polite and fast. Recommending for vegetarian food lovers. Located near Samanvay Luxury boutique lodge.
Fine experience. hygiene and safety measures followed strictly. food quality and taste awesome. always prefer this restaurant on going to udupi.
Very cordial staff and had a superb lunch which triggered every taste bud. Keep it up..
Typically south Indian food we had. Dosas so crispy. Taste awesome. Staffs are very polite. Very clean and tidy. Adopted all the covid norms.
Very good tasty food. Lunch served is typical coastal region(kota, kundapura) style brahmin food. Ambiance, hygiene, service..all good.
Unlimited food is not only about how many cuisines you get its also about hos they serve you. Mtr has a limited number of cuisines in the unlimited meal but they serve hot and best quality food that anyone would like to have. Once in the place must visit MTR though not the particular meal can take any of the meals as everything is same at MTR. Its bit away from the main city but located in a cool place.
Place was good and hygiene. The masala dosa was good but price is too high. Cohw Cohw bath was OK. Sambar and Chutney was good. Price is too much.
Delicious south indian food...bonda soup and Bisibele bath are the best out here!! Must try when you are at Udupi!!😊
Yummy food. Nominal price and quick service
Nice ambiance, good and fast service. The staff is very friendly. The food taste is very good. I tried Bisebelabath and rava idly which is very tasty. They serve these food with Ghee which is very tasty combination
One of the places where you can see history as it happened. Not the greatest of places if you are looking to have a heavy meal, the quantity is calibrated. However, you just cannot miss the experience. I have been to the place multiple times, but still feel compelled to go back the next time I visit Manipal.Food choices are available here transcending generations, the kids and grandparents both will find the experience interesting. The place is comfortable and contemporary, not ancient or historical in any way. But it is the food experience...
Bonda soup was very tasty, Mangaluru buns were simply great with perfect flavour of bananas, Kesari bath was excellent and very different from other I have eaten at different places and lastly Rava idly was ordinary but as soon as I poured desi ghee on it the idly became superb.
Neat restaurant with some good South Indian options. Good option to spend quality time with your family, Friends and couples. I upload the picture without Food 😅 because I was so hungry so I took the picture after the meal😂Update: After an exciting evening on weekend,I visited the restaurant again on a week day morning at 9:30 AM, to my surprise theservice was extremely slow and food options were limited as the preparations had got over. May be it is a norm in Udupi, that people dont visit restaurants after 9 AM, but for me it was really really surprising. I am from Tamilnadu and here most of the restaurants serve popular dishes till night.
Items are average and Bisibelebath and raitha both were too sweet and its not upto their own standards served in bangalore
Loved the dosa, vada and specially the Kesari Bath. That was really really awesome and delicious 🤩
It is a pure vegetarian restaurant on 4 lane road of Udupi.Legendary Hotel created by Mayyas at Bengalur , ultimately found their root in their Native.Good standard of service maintained.
Expensive but food is lip smacking. Masala dosa 💕
Great taste, price is little expensive, not very much options, menu is same as all MTRs in banglore, you can explore some local eateries if you are not a localite
Had breakfast here. Very clean, hygienic, hot breakfast made fresh to order. Coffee is also very good.
* Not worth for the premium they charge* Very avg... And food taste not upto the mark
We had full meals in MTR and it was very good. Service was excellent.
Ambiance was really good very close to main road even the taste is also good but as a local, I didnt find value for money. Bought 2 amini lunch and 2 plates of masala dosa and 2 plates of rava dosa cost us Rs 680 Taste was not extra ordinary. Basic without refill. There are many restaurants offer unlimited and better taste food with the half of the price
Ok ok ok
Taste was too good and service is nice and quick I had dinner ,fully satisfied with taste 👌👌👌👌
Simple menu, hygienic ambiance...MTR style. It is sad that people of Udupi generally dont consider this place as VFM...From my various visits to MTR Udupi, I can say that though MTR Udupi is slightly costly in comparison to other South Indian joints in this town, the taste of MTR is unique and no other restuarant would be able to offer you this taste. MTRs signature sweet dish Chandrahaara (available only on Sundays) is must try ....
One of our favourite Dosa spot in Udupi. Has some good authentic Dosa. Masala Dosa and Rava masala dosa must try. Also have the Rava Idli, Coffee and Chow Chow baath
MTR needs no introduction, its a legendary restaurant in Bengaluru. So I was very excited to visit their outlet in Udupi. We visited MTR for dinner, as expected its jam packed. We ordered rava idli, rava masala dosa, bisi bele bath and filter coffee. They serve small cup of ghee with every dish you order. I really loved that fluffy rava idli and that golden crispy rava masala dosa. Bisi bele bath was really amazing and filter coffee was perfect. Ambience of this place is amazing and service was quick. I read the story of invention of rava idli and the reason behind it, which is interesting. I am really looking forward to visit their original establishment in Bengaluru.
Live the breakfast ambience and the service the food is a bit overrated tho. The foods pretty good but I hyped it up too much before going there.
One of the best places around for food! Please do visit and enjoy the delicious food 😊😋
I found MTR food ok. For the sake of good order I have to add, there are small eateries serving better tasting tiffin at Udupi
This is located opposite manjunath HP petrol bunk. Its in ground floor.Multiple variants are not available. We were there during our lunch. We had special thali. Its really good and you can have a unique experience.Only South Indian dishes are available. Its crowded during the peak time. Seating area is limited. Its purely vegetarian restaurant.
Very clean and higinec vegeterian food authentic karnnada cusine...
Authentic cuisine, traditional taste... South Indian specials
Very nice.. we all liked it and food is yummy. Poori, set dosa, masala dosa are yummy. Tea is good. Very neat and clean, well maintained. This one is chain of original MTR which started in Bangalore and they have maintained the same taste. If you dont want to mess (tried in some random hotels or dont want to try local specials) with your food during your tour to udupi, then this must be the place.
Good food.Great service.
Too costly..but worth the taste.Once in a while- recommended.Often- not recommended.
No compromise in quality and quantity, but taste is not suitable for people of udipi
Dosa , sambhar, vada , coffee is excellent. The service staff are very nice and helpful.Must visit restaurant in udupi town.
Pure South Indian food available here. Huge place and nice location, crowd was too great...The guy who served us is too bad, its pretty slow and too late to serve.I myself paid the bill directly to the cashier, he gave bill but he didnt came too... Thats pretty bad feeling for a customer who went alone with whole family.Management has to think about this and its highly reputation hotel, one or two server showing attitude, which makes complete mess for customer.
Very nice. Must try rava idli.
Awesome veg food! Will definitely come back.
Very delicious food must try... Very neat and clean . Good ambiance... Very polite people..
I visited this place many times. Today I could visit again probably after 2 years. The same quality and humble servers. The place is neat and hygienic. I relished on special meal which is worth the price. Better visit after 7 pm to relish on more no. of items.
Authentic Udupi style South Indian food ✌️
Good place for a quick breakfast, lunch or snack. Serves South Indian food and beverages. A bit on the expensive side. Not too crowded during the afternoon. Tried their mini tiffin, ideal choice if you want to try a bit of everything.
Quality meets Quantity pure vegetarian food, please have masal dosa and besibele bath here, all food here is very good... and really really good
Perfect place for Masala Dosa(or any south Indian delicacy) in Udupi.Place is historical as well and service was really fast.
Very good veg restaurant @ Samanvay boutique hotel....also can provide with Jain options
Best food for South Indians, with reasonable price.
A decent place to get your breakfast. Not so great coffee, but the badam drink and the grape drink provided here are the best. The place is mainatianed very well, hygenic food is provided, a bit expensive I can say. Overall its a nice place to get your vegetarian breakfast, lunch and dinner.
MTR is an authentic place, the name itself has great history. Food in MTR has totally different taste compare to other restaurants. No other restaurants can ever match MTR. Must try weekend special sweet chandrahaara.
The best food. Dont forget to try Chandrahara, their signature item!
Authentic south indian food.Liked Mangalore bun here. One of the best vegetarian option nearby Udupi.Little costly compared to other.
Literally Everything was phenomenal. I recommend to order combo tiffin. Badam halwa was awesome. Fresh cut fruit with icecream and fruit juices are nice. History behind this tiffin rooms is amazing. Service was great.
The same good quality of food and filter coffee as Ive had in Bengaluru and with the advantage that it isnt as crowded here.
Authentic veg at its best! The side dishes in the mini meals along with the yummy looking masala dosa combo aas simply lip-smacking. Coming to the desserts the gulab jamun had the perfect sweetness while the star of the night was the BADAM HALWA which had very unique texture while the taste kept me wanting for more
The taste of the food is amazing here,Mangalore bun is a must try item to have here.
A hotel that maintains its legacy! Delicious food, hygienic, clean and worth the price. Do try their kesaribath and bisibele bath. Last but not the least, the chicory free MTR Coffee.
Awesome service. Awesome food especially dosa items, chow chow bath. They serve items with extra ghee which makes your mouth watery. Especially good for evening snacks. If you visit udupi, you better be here for breakfast/evening snacks. Their menu also includes meals and mini tiffin(includes dosa, chow chow bath and bisi bele bath). Only on sunday, you ll get MTRs traditional dessert CHANDRAHARA. So if you want to get a taste of it, plan for it.
One the best food/ breakfast items in udupi.
Best place to taste the authentic flavours of Karnataka cusine
