Fitter tread 23 beach students opjcc punjipathra raigarhThe Raigarh Structural Steel Division plant in Punjipathra now has its first female fitter in the form of Ms Tanya Beck. Her entry into this male-dominated domain has to be attributed to dedication, passion, and strong technical skills. Her placement, involving the efforts of the OP Jindal Community College and SSD, reaffirms JSPL as an equal opportunity organization. Tanya who completed her vocational training as a fitter-cum-fabricator at OPJCC Patratu and Punjipathra said: “I tried to find employment on my own in my hometown, but no one was ready to give a fitter or welding job to a woman. OPJCC came to my rescue and offered me a dream opportunity.” A resident of Ranchi, Tanya always wanted to learn something unique. She is excited about her job. “It will help me support my family,” says this pioneer.
