First school in Tirupur: -In the beginning, the country came from the gurukula education system. Formal schools only existed during the English period.The first school in Tirupur was established in 1885 on Mission Road by the Christian organization Tamil Evangelical Lutheran Church (TELC).The street where this church (mission) school was located was named Mission Street,The school was later relocated to its own building at Sabapathipura in 1920, where the church was purchased, named after Sabapathy Iyer, the grandfather of DR.C.N Venkatesh and the father of the famous cotton merchant Nataraja Iyer.All the celebrities of Tirupur at that time were educated in this school. Although the teachers of this school are paid by the government, the administration is taken care of by the church.The school, which has been functioning for 100 years, is a source of great pride to our Tirupur.#tirupurmicrovoice
