This museum is located right next to Govinda Raja Swamy Temple. Open timings are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The museum is mostly about art and architecture of temples and idols. We often dont realize but everything that is related to constructing a temple has a specific study around it. Site selection, Architecture Style selection, Gopuram selection, Stone selection, Posture selection, Carving, etc. This museum does its best in covering those aspects. There is explanation for each and everything displayed here in both English and Telugu languages. All the above was covered in one of the sections inside the museum. In one of the mandapams, they have the entire story of Srinivasa Kalyanam done via Dolls. It was very good. They call is the Kids Gallery. Both kids and parents will like the artwork. Finally, in the last section, they had details about some of the great Vishnu Devotees and Saints. Also covered in this section were about Music and Dance. There was also one sub-section about a Vishnu Devotee Lifestyle and how they organizes their day. Entry to this informative museum was totally Free.
This is a very historic museum. There is a large collection of information about the Hindu religion, primarily about the temple of South Indian, the ancient ruins of the temple, the collection of architectural information, history, old paintings etc. All items are kept very well. I am very impressed with this collection. All Devotees should give time for this museum.
Information preserved and displayed at this place is very rich. But i feel that its presentation and maintenance is not up to the mark. Also the awareness should be created at greater extent among the tourists which will help attain the motto presented in the Museum.
This museum was created by my father Dr AV Jeyechandrun. He is doctorate in Temple Architecture. He is a very learned person. He had done one more museum in Thirumala explaining the antiques of the temple and the surroundings, it will be very informative to know. His famous creation is a museum in Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple 1000 pillar hall. My Dad is a highly spiritual man.
One of my most spiritual travel destination.

One of the best places to visit. It has a lot of stories to say. Which way the temples and stupas were constructed. Which stone was used. How the architectures were made and many more. Each and everything is told very nicely with a detailed described with photos art or a simple made with wood.An architecture delight. All the questions are answered whenever we visit a temple which has a sculpture concept.Do visit and relish.Well maintained washroomCameras and mobiles not allowed inside. The security and the management guys are friendly and eager to guide us.The eighteenth century is the main attraction which is placed in front of the entrance.A Nice way of description between the western and South Indian temple construction is briefed here.
Govinda govinda🙏
One of the best place to know our Cultural heritage and Devotional centers we popularly call Temples. It a hidden treasure for Temple architecture. My thanks for TTD for maintaining it. But please let every pilgrim and history lovers who visit Tirumala know it. My sincere request.
It is famous for its historical background and many things which were used in olden days are preserved and exhibiting here. But need some more improvement for attracting tourists
The museum is in Nammalvars temple complex...Historical significant artifacts can be found here...Section A: The museum has details of temple construction as per the vedas...Section B: Has musical instruments, photos of mudras, photos of 108 Divya Desam and details of the same, vedic rituals photographs...A childrens art gallery is also there... The displayed artifacts are in pathetic state...The artifacts have not been cleaned since ages...Maintaince is badly needed...
The museum is good and has detailed information about the temple all around the world. This museum also has many artifact which is quite amazing and unique. So you can easily spend about an hour to look around the things.
