Good place to stay for young males..Good food and Serene environment

A calm place to learn in this library which is very good and it also got a hostel along with mess. There are few halls where conferences and meetings happen in different occasions. Lot of civil aspirations come here to prepare for their exams.

Its a good hostel, right in the heart of the city, everything is at walkable distance. Its slightly on the costlier side. Newspaper will be delivered right on your door step. Single, shared, and dormitories are available. Mess is available. Food is served thrice daily.

Good maintenance and friendly approach safe & secure

Im reviewing (and only reviewing) the Library facility here. Basically more than library, reading room is the most sought out facility here. We can bring our own materials to study, which isnt allowed in most other libraries in the City. You can avail either single day membership (Rs. 30/-) or monthly membership (Rs. 400/-). Ambience is good. However, combined study isnt allowed inside reading room (but there are ample of open spaces available within the compound where you can do that) :-)

One of the best mens hostel in thiruvanathapuram (that too at a prime location, close to Secretariat south block). Single and shared rooms are available at decent rates. The hostel mess offers good quality food. Facilities such as library, badminton court and basketball court are available.

This is a very old building though the rooms are decently maintained. The rooms are not attached. The washrooms are to be maintained by self, so the cleanliness depends on the people who use it. The food in this hostel is really good compared to normal hostels in kerala. Single rooms would cost you Rs.160 per day plus Rs.100 for food. So basically a room would coat you around Rs.7800 in a month. Around Rs.10000 is to be paid as deposit out of which 8000 will be refunded. The room contains a single cot, a wooden table and a wooden chair and also a shelf with 3 racks.

A great and affordable place in the middle of the cityThe YMCA, Trivandrum is easily accessible, clean and well maintained. Its a very affordable place to stay with many types of rooms for family and group stay.They also provide a nice and simple complimentary breakfast.The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They also help in arranging tours in and around the city.Overall it was a lovely and satisfying experience.

You can get AC and non AC rooms here. All are well arranged. There are halls available for conducting programs. The building is a little bit old, but neatly kept. Several educational programmes and book shows are conducted here.

Good hostel and a great parking area

A very famous mens hostel in Trivandrum next to the secretariat. It is one of the iconic places. The auditorium in this hostel is venue for many cultural and social activities. The library next to the hostel is also very famous for its collection of British books.

Trivandrum YMCA is more than 150 years old serving the needy ones with accommodation for stay, halls for conferences and meetings. They have both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned halls on daily rent basis. Situated near the Govt Secretariat, the heart of the city with access from anywhere.

Economic, Comfortable safe stay..

Its a nice place to study. Theres a reading room for people who wish to bring their own books. There are 3 other rooms meant exclusively for magazines, newspapers and books belonging to the library. A membership for a single day would cost you Rs.30/- while a monthly membership is available for Rs.400/-. Though not well maintained, there are washroom for both the genders. A central auditorium is usually used by students for a break. People opting to come here to study can avail a very nice, quite, motivational study environment whilst building a worthwhile study group.

Reception was not alert. Security was not in the gate. Managed to get to the reception. Not so much impressive. Room facilities are fine and very neat.

Rooms are good. A good library managed by YMCA nearby. Situated in the centre of city but away from noises. Good place to stay. They got international lodging for foreigners.

A calm a quiet place to read and study solo. Combined study is not allowed. You can pay here per day also to avail the facilities. Not so rush compared to the public library.

The YMCA Hostel is one of the best hostel in the city. The rooms are of okay size and food is not too good or not too bad. Food is available only in the morning and night.

Provide good facilities it is situated at the heart of the city near the secatariate provide rooms to stay both men and women have AC and non AC rooms and also halls where convessions and function can be held . Have a good parking space .

There are three halls and the only one which I would say good is the old British Council Library Hall. The other two are on road side and are not sound proof...

Its an ok place. Clean and neat. But rooms are not readily available and to much rules and regulations.

Very good accomodation provided in the mens hostel location in prime location. 10-15 minutes walk from the main railway station and bus stand. Located adjacent to the secretariat of kerala in Thiruvananthapuram. Been staying here for a month now in a two sharing room. Most of the occupants currently are here for training for their bank exams and PSC exams and utilize the hostel for accomodation purposes. They have sufficient recreational activities in terms of sports. And a mess service is also provided which they say is compulsory. I am charged a deposit of ₹5,000(one time) for accomodation & ₹3,000 as mess deposit (which is to be paid monthly) and told that i would be charged room rent of ₹150 per day for the duration of my stay in a two sharing room with common bathroom facilities. Quite convenient for my current purposes and i thank YMCA for all services rendered.P.S.: the main chef of their mess is a nice person, but his assistant has no manners and doesnt know how to talk politely (only negative part of my experience here).

Good library facility for reading, for those who are preparing for competitive exams ymca would be a suitable place.There are two kinds of membership ,one is peramanent and otherone is on daily basis.permanent membership should be renewed in every month by paying 400 rs/month(only if your are using library continuosly for one month)Daily membership....by paying 30 rs /day.Working time 9:30am_ 6pmDaily membership allowed only when the seats left after peramanent members being seated.And most importantly daily membership will be given only after 10 am.In rush time like near to upsc prilims examinations,ssc tire examinations there will be no daily membership .In every year children summer class will be conducted in here,library central hall between april 4 to may 24 . so,at that time it will be difficult use the library,beacuse of noise.so avoid choosing that time.

One of the largest mens hostel in Trivandrum. It is situated behind the secretariat, Palayam, Trivandrum. There are very big rooms with more than two cots. It is a mulitifloored building with large number of rooms. The common bathrooms are quite clean and good.

They call themselves non profit but conduct various charged programmes, which turn out to be really terrible, and even in those programmes a majority of time is spent promoting other programmes. All these programmes are absolutely useless and just a method to make money.

Comfortable and decently fitted-out rooms at a very reasonable price. Would go again!
