A very calm and beautiful place to relax from work life, and the tea stall near by is just amazing.....just come sit with cup of horlix and just relax

Nice place, but the boating area is not at all maintained, l was really sad seeing the condition actually 😭. Apart from that l was really in love with the greenary, birds chirping , cool breeze, shady trees. Nice place to sit and relax our mind and body. Can be visited with family and friends. The interior of nursery could not been seen as it was closed due to harthal. Authorities please try to do the needful regarding the boating area at the earliest. Thankyou.

In present scenario, the place is full of bushy grass. Sunset is really worth viewing from here. It has many smallscale street vendor units outside serving coffee and snacks etc...

Its a great place with good views. Boating has restarted but Plastic bags floating in the water and foul smell of stagnant water is an issue. Authorities should take strict action on the pollution.

AKKULAM BOAT CLUB IS OPPOSITE TO AKKULAM TOURIST VILLAGE. AKKULAM ROAD TO ULLOOR JN. DIVIDES BOTH THE PLACES.A SMALL PARK INVITES YOU TO THE SHORE OF LAKE.PEOPLE OFTEN REST AND ENJOY IN THIS PARK AT ANY TIME. FROM THE ROAD SIDE VIEW YOU CAN SEE THE PARKS GREEN LAWN EXTENDS TO THE LAKE........ACTUALLY IT IS THE WATER HYACINTH ( LOCALLY CALLED KULA VAZHA)THAT INFESTED THE WATER BODY.SAD TO CONFESS THAT, NOW AKKULAM LAKE IS A GARBAGE DUMP OF THE CITY WASTE AND AS WELL AS MAJOR ENCROACHMENT OF LAND MAFIA. PARVATHY PUTHANAR AND KANNAN MOOLA CANAL ALSO DRAINS MUCH OF THE WASTE WATER INTO THIS LAKE.SO ALWAYS NEED PRECAUTIONS TO ENJOY BOATING.....

Boat club is in just a name. You can see boats and clubs of dogs. There is no so called boat club there . atleast it is not in working condition. Lake is now at its bad condition.its a pool of deceases.

Poor maintenence and neglected area. There is no boat ramp now functioning here.We have all natural resources and beauty. But fails miserably in harnessing tourism out of it. Government must look into this.Feels ashamed when crossing this area.If boat services are resumed, there will be more tourists and will boost the tourism economy.

Very Pathetic

Poor maintenance! Do not attract even locals and domestic tourists. Kiran Jet is the main attraction. Park, Lake, Swimming pools etc. are not maintained properly. There was boating facilities once. Now the entire lake is covered with weeds. Boats are not seen. May have drowned . It was one of the beautiful and fascinating park for local people as well as other domestic tourists. Nearby swimming pool is in bad condition. Check quality of water before attempting to swim.

Long back this was a popular tourist spot. Today I visited the renovated childrens park. Entry fee low and good ambience. Your kids will enjoy. A cycling area for kids and swimming pool is under development.

A calm area to walk around. Entry fee is low. You will get park, river and beach in one area. Childrens park is there. For kids its the beautiful area. They will get swing slide for playing. Horse ride is available at beach side. Boating is available in two type. Pedal and motor type. That beautiful park having sculptures. The pond in the park have fishes and tortoise. Sculpture created by kanayi kunjiraman is the best one on there. I think its named sleeping beauty. All-around a good experience.

Good for evening relaxation and to spend time in the park area except the walkway path which is poorly maintained with dirty smell and mosquitos.. On the road u hav tea and snack shops... Recently they fixed new street lights and whole area well lit so now is the best time to visit before those lights go off..

If properly maintained, this place has the potential to become the best evening spot in Trivandrum. The proximity to Technopark is a big advantage. The walkway is non-existent at most places. I could only wish it was looked after properly. Hope the government comes up with some plan to revive it. It could become the Marine Drive of Trivandrum

Once a tourist attraction. Now recovering slowly. No boating available now. Childrens park available, but very less amenities. Swimming pool available for public (Paid) on hour basis and memeber ship basis. Birding people and photographers could find variety of resident birds and migrated ones on the wet lands of Akkulam.

Go there if peace is your priority! And you might end up with an awsome sunset as a bonus.

This is know as Indias largest/biggest childrens park. Once you visited there you will feel this is nothing.

Dilapidated rundown boat club.The lake used to be lively and beautiful once,now completely covered with algae.Government neglection has made this place go to hell.The sunsets are pretty good if you dont mind the mosquitoes.

Owned by the Tourism department of Kerala around 10km away from Thiruvananthapuram Central railway and bus stations. Facilities like children’s park, paddle pool, swimming pool etc are available
