As most of the restaurants were closed due to Covid situation not much option was left to have south Indian breakfast, so had our breakfast at this restaurant. Not bad... food was okk. Even though no much business now but they maintained the restaurant well.

A nice restaurant on the Kovalam beach. They have seafood on demand and a lot of popular dishes. They also serve beer and allow you to have your own drink. Get the seats facing the beach and sit down with a beer to enjoy the evening. A nice place to hangout with friends. Please note the portion size of the dishes are less. You pay for the ambiance and the opportunity to have drinks too.

Restaurant is nice spacious and sea view, but dishes were not so tasty, I ordered daal tadka, paneer butter massala, fish fry. Serving time was a bit late but staff was polite and good.Overall its average restaurant.

I Fully recommend. Very friendly and helpful staff. During my stay in Kovalam Beach I had two times a great and delicious dinner. First I had shrimp with a spicy sauce and on my second visit I decided for a White Snapper. Both really fresh and very delicious. You can decide how you want to have your fish and the kitchen crew knows how to prepare your food delicious. It was a pleasure to be your guest!

Great seafood, the only place on the street that has an actual tandoor oven. The way they prepare the food makes it significantly more tasty than the other restaurants in the area.Both kitchens are clean and open, so one can see what happens inside. The staff was friendly and courteous, and all food and drinks were handled in a hygienic manner. E.g. a can of soda was properly rinsed before being served, despite being a closed can.

Im not sure what other people disliked. This place was very very good. Get the seafood basket. Prawns were great, lobster was top notch, and even the calamari was excellent.

Its average dinner by the sea side. The whole ambiance is just the sea facing view. Interior decoration in not that great. Evening time watchout for all kind of bugs and musquito. Those pesky things even crawl into your food. Food taste is just ok when compared to the hefty price.

This place serves the freshest fish around! They show you the fish beforehand so you can choose and they give suggestions on the cooking, the fish I had cost so little and took me an hour to finish it! Amazing taste and great service!

Not great, they do not accept cards or online payment. Food quality was good but thr quantity was not upto the charges that they take.We had the prawn coconut curry which was Rs 850/- but the pieces of prawn were not upto the mark. More of bones than meat. We also tried the chicken curry with potato, which had 60% potato and only 40% chicken.Rest service was fast and the Kerela Porota was good.

Very bad service. Just for green salad we wait around 30 mins.we ask waiter for green salad order he replied other people also waiting not only you are here. When its ready we will surve till then wait. He is so rude.

Seems to be a Russian insider tip (some Russians recommended it to us and in the restaurant you could barely hear another language then Russian). Anyway, very good food and definitely a place where you can enjoy seafood without concerns about its freshness or quality.

Dont order the shakes on the menu. Either it will be runny as water, like the choco coca shake, otherwise, there wont be any sugar. Way overpriced. We ordered all types of shakes and not even one was good. The watermelon juice nearly ruined my trip as i wanted to puke it out rather than have it inside my stomach.

We liked the service overall, especially from Mr.Gopi Prakash. Drinks are available, but no cocktails. We had Vodka (Smirnoff) and beer (Budweiser)The food is average, though. We ordered prawns roast (spicy), masala omelette and paneer butter masala with parota.They accept only cash.

Great restaurant in a superb location right on the beach. The fish is amazing. We shared a Butter fish with our 2 young daughters and it has to be the best fish we’ve tasted. The staff were super friendly and couldn’t have done more. This really is a superb restaurant and the price is very reasonable- £25 for the 4 of us, including starters sides and drinks. Well done Coconut Grove, we’ll be back!

Before coming here I suggest reading the negative comments.The 1st 2 rows of tables all have reserved signs on them, and how this operates is worthy of apartheid South Africa. When we arrived there were 1st row tables free, but we were put in row 2 (coloured privilege maybe - one white person, one Indian⁰). Used to be consistently good seafood with variety of selection at substantially higher prices than the others. They have always been slightly higher, but with tourism down, is bumping prices even higher really the right way to go to go? And the food, well, its definitely slipped.Update to above review 18 months ago: Because of their former glory and some great meals here in the past, and wanting to help businesses get back on their feet, I suppose, I wanted to see if things changed. Yesterdays meal: fresh calamari (thats the good part) & fries, cooked in old dirty oil 🤢 and served cold to the table, with non-existent service. Disappointing.

Pathetic food which is overly priced. The waiters behavior is not good. The plates and glass in which the food is served are not cleaned well. They give special attention to forgeiners and discriminate btw the Indians and others. Most of the positive reviews given in the Google were posted by the people working their. I recommend not to go there.

Best experience. I ordered a fish in banana leaves. It was incredibly delicious. Out of all the restaurants Ive been on this beach, this restaurant its the best.Yes, the interior seems basic. But the food and its taste - thats what matters the most. Highly recommended!And the staff was really friendly and pleasant. They even kept restaurant open after working hours for guests to finish their meals.

Fresh seafood. The staff was attentive and the restaurant has a nice view since its right on the beach on the boardwalk.

Overpriced and the taste of the vegetarian food was boring. The Gobi Manchurian was not crispy at all and the price for a small bottle of beer was the price they ask in other places for a big bottle.

Cool place to eat fish at the Lighthouse Beach Front and to see the sunset....also they have one beach front flat with balcony to rent..I stayed there one week and loved the sound of the beach & waves almost 24hours. Rene from Switzerland

Wish there was an option to give no stars to this restaurant. One of the worst behaviour of the staff you can see in any restaurant. We had ordered for the one whole red snapper fish and told him specifically to cook a complete fish together, but they gave chopped fish(which was not even a red snapper) when we asked about the same they gave some lame reason and a very rude answer. They spoiled the complete experience of our vacation to kerala.So if you are going to kovalam please avoid this restaurant!!!!!!!
