This place is also known as Narkatari Teerth. This is the place where Arjun ended the thirst of Bheeshma while he was on Arrow bed.Arjuna shot an arrow and Gangajal appeared from the land from which Bheeshma drank water . Although other Kaurvas brought water too for him too but he denied and said only the one who made me end up on the bed of arrows is allowed to give me water to drink so Arjuna obeyed his order. On one side(right) of this kund, there is Lord Shiva in the firm of Shivling and opposite the Shivling there is a huge Murti of Lord Hanuman .On the other side (left) Lord Krishna, Shri Vishnu , Khatu Shyaam ji and Bhadrakali Mata are present. On the pillars near Kund and at the entrance, Bheeshmas wise words are engraved which were told by him to Yudhishthira and other Pandavas when he was graved as rhe Kind of Hastinapur after the Kurukshetra War.Theres a beautiful idol of Arjuna and Bheeshma which seems very real but Alas! The water of the Kund in very harsh condition full of Algae.
Nice peaceful historic place which holds great significance in Mahabhartha.Clean and road connectivity is good.
A holistic site for recalling the Dwapar era events and great, both pious and crooked, personalities. The place importance is many fold increase by peace engulfed environment. The Bhishm sarovar and the sculpture depicting Krishna and Arjun helping the Yugpurush, Bheeshm, on his death bed, creates an heart touching throat choke.
As the name gives a glimpse of Bheeshm Pitama. A place where you can know, what happened in Mahabharat.
I liked visiting the place and worship one of the most important sacred part of Mahabharata where bhishm pitama was put on arrows by pandavas
This is a very nice and serene place to visit. This is the place where Bhishma Pita Ma was given the final water and was lying on an arrow bed. Arjuna drew that water from the ground with his arrow and the water body is called Ban Ganga. There is a babaji here who has been living here from last 70-80 years. It was nice to get his aashirwaad .
Came to handover Moola vigraham to the Mahant
Bhishma Kund located at Narkatari in Kurukshetra, has connection with the great epic Mahabharata. As per the Legends when Bhishma Pitamah laid on the bed of arrows created by Arjuna, while he was watching the mahabharata battle, he felt thirsty and asked for water. To quench his thirst, Arjuna immediately shot an arrow into the ground and let loose a stream of gushing water. This is how the Bhishma Kund is believed to come into existence. This place has a water pond (which is quite dirty) in the centre known as Bhishma Kund and a temple next to it known as Bhishma Baan Shayya Mandir. Also, a huge Hanuman Ji statue is located at the back of the temple and a Gaushala is also there in the temple premises. There is parking at temple entrance with lots of locals selling wooden and other artifcrafts.
Witnesed Bhishma Khund. 3 star for this as the Khund is not maintained very well and its dirty.Although it is popular story about Bhishma lying in bed of arrows and ask for water to quench his thirst, Bhishma Khund need to be on must visit palce in the list and improve the well being around it. So that the place can be maintained very well. They have got nice wooden toys at less price less than ₹100 outside Khund.
Bhishma Kund is in hell, now this place has turned into a village. But still the place is safe even today where Bhishma Pitamah is lying on the arrow bed and at this place Arjuna had quenched the thirst of Bhishma ji by shooting arrows on the earth.
Place that bears a connection with the great epic Mahabharata, this is the place where it is believed that Pitamaha Bhishma lay watching the famous battle after Arjun, created a bed of arrows for him. The place now has a temple next to a water tank called the Banganga or the Bhishma Kund. There is a legend attached to this water tank. It says that, when Bhishma lay on his bed of arrows, he felt thirsty and asked for water. To fulfil his desire, Arjuna immediately shot an arrow into the ground and let loose a stream of ganga water. This is how the Bhishma Kund is believed to come into existence
Bhishma Kund is associated with the famous legend of Mahabharata. It is where Bhishma Pitamah was laid on a bed of arrows made by Arjun for him to watch the battle. When he was thirsty and he requested for water, Arjun shot an arrow in the ground letting out a water spring to the quench Bhishmas thirst. This water body is now known as the Bhishma kund.

This is the place where Bhishmapitamah breathed his last lying on a bed of arrows.A sacred place for all of us.The cleanliness and upkeep can be improved. The place should be made more presentable. There should also be a small museum here highlighting his entire life from birth to death. The place deserves more publicity.

The place is situated 8 km far from Kurukshetra town. In Mahabharat war when with the advice of Lord Krishna Arjun kept Shikhandi in his chariot. Since Shikhandi was a lady in previous Bhishm did not fire upon the chariot of Arjun. According to Bhishm he can not fire upon a lady it will be a unethical deed. So after seeing Shikhandi upon Arjun chariot he stoped fighting. Arjun started throwing arrows upon him. Bhishm fell down on the Earth. After the Mahabharat war was over Lord Krishna and Arjun came near him here at this place to meet him. Bhishm requested Arjun for drinking water. Arjun throw an arrow towards the Earth and drew the water. It is said that this kund is the same where Arjun drew the water. A holly place. Peaceful.
Bheeshhan Kund at KRUKKHETRA in Hariya na state. This place is very touchy to all Hindus. Because as per Mahabharat Kurukhetra war happened between Kouraba and Pandabas lasting eighteen days and VHEESHMA was attacked by ARJUNA and left his last breath here with the arrow bed by Arjuna.
What I heard and saw was different. Congested. Being renovated
