Gurudev Siddha Peeth is an Indian ashram run by the Gurudev Siddha Peeth Trust and serving the Siddha Yoga path. It is situated between the villages of Ganeshpuri and Vajreshwari, 70 miles (110 km) north-east of Mumbai. On the Siddha Yoga path it is known as the mother ashram because it is where Siddha Yoga really beganurudev Siddha Peeth, the first Siddha Yoga ashram, is a shakti peeth , a center of spiritual energy. It is situated in the historic and sacred Tansa Valley, in Maharashtra, India. The ashram is imbued with the spiritual power of the Siddha Yoga Gurus, and the countless hours of sadhana and spiritual practice that Siddha Yogis have performed there.Over the years, Swami Muktananda and Gurumayi Chidvilasananda have continually emphasized the importance of performing the practices of the ashram daily schedule with discipline. This focus continually fortifies the powerful atmosphere of the ashram for present and future generations of seekers. Siddha Yogis come to Gurudev Siddha Peeth to both experience and contribute to this ashram environment. Beginning early in the morning and continuing throughout the day, students come together for the Siddha Yoga practices of meditation, chanting and seva.In order to support this focus in Gurudev Siddha Peeth, there is an application process for those who wish to offer seva as Gurukula students or visiting sevites or who wish to attend retreats. This process ensures that applicants are clear about their purpose of coming to the ashram and are dedicated to this aim.

Calm and amazing place to visit.. one can find inner peace with their teachings.. huge campus.. nice infrastructure and ambiance thereby keeping simplicity in mind...Friendly staff.. one should visit this place atleast once in a lifetime to get an experience...Travelled almost 50 KMS to reach this place from Mumbai.. anyone who wants to witness Hot Water Spring should definitely visit, as its hardly 100-150 mtrs away from this place..A proper village feeling for those who stay in cities..

A great place to unwind, if youre comfortable with silent sitting meditation. The campus has a couple of small temples and a gallery with portraits and spiritual aphorisms from Swami Nityanand, Swami Muktananda and Gurumayi Chidvilasananda. But the primary attraction for visitors has to be the Swami Muktananda samadhi.There are two silent sitting (unguided) meditation sessions available (free of charge) to the general public on weekends and during a select few festivals. These sessions are from10-11am and 3-4pm at the Swami Muktananda samadhi. Ive sunk into meditation quite effortlessly each time Ive been here, such is the energy of the place. I didnt see any meditation cushions, and didnt mind sitting directly on the floor, but you might want to carry a cushion if you need one.I just wish they would make the samadhi more available, on more days, even to non-residents. Would gladly pay for the privilege of meditating at the samadhi. Overall, recommended if youre a meditator.

I would not call this place a spiritual place at all. It is a kind of a museum. First, they will screen your bag, then they will make you walk through a metal detector gate and then the security will frisk you head to bottom and make sure you have switched off your mobile. Then you enter a hall and sit on one of the chairs neatly arranged at the wall if you want to meditate.Only on weekends, they open the Samadhi hall of Muktananda swami for just one hour in the morning, which is nothing but a museum.In museums too you find silence and will be able to meditate if allowed to. No big deal about it.Where is the spirituality in all this?In spirituality, there is trust. If you need to be frisked before entering a spiritual place, that means they dont trust you and so you are viewed as a threat to them.Gautam Buddha treated even a criminal as a God.

Very disappointed and frankly feel hurt by the attitude. I was so looking forward to visiting Baba Muktanandas ashram, and yes it is really beautiful and clean, and the energy here is wonderful and makes you wish to stay and meditate, but the people who currently run the ashram just ruin it all. There is razor wire on top of the fence all around the ashram grounds, your bag and your body will be scanned by security at the entrance, you will be required to provide your passport number, there are security guards everywhere, and you are only allowed into a very small restricted area of the ashram. And that is all fair enough, security matters, if only they threated you with respect But they dont. Some of the ashram attendants are simply rude. Yesterday we went for the Guru Gita chant, and as soon as it finished, security started to literally push us towards the exit saying Outside, outside!, while we were bowing to Bhagawans statue. Youre not allowed to bow for too long apparently... And that is right after you have just finished an hour of devotional chanting. Hits you fight in the heart. The lady attendant in Babas Samadhi hall called me stupid, and Im not even sure what I did wrong. As much as I loved meditating there, I will not be coming back to Gurudev Siddha Peeth. There is too much aggression. There are other beautiful places to meditate in Ganeshpuri where people are welcoming and open-hearted, like Bhagawan Nityanandas ashram Kailas Nivas, and Bhagawans temple next door. You will always be welcome there.

Divine place. Please dont miss meditating here at samadhi shrin. The true peace is right there in your reach. Easy to approach from Thane, Mumbai, Nasik and Gujarat. Virar is the nearest railway station and from there you can get the bus. You can get the bus from Bhiwandi as well, if you are coming from Kalyan or Nasik.

Ah, it seems like only yesterday (1985) that I was ready and blessed enough to stay here and experience otherworldly grace. Even if your stay is not Magical, it is still a great blessing. It is beautiful and beneficial. My time here in 1985 was the greatest of my 63 year life so far, and my lifetime has been incredible. With grace, Ill get back for more. The Sadgurus grace and shakti sparkle everywhere. Earth has never been home for me, but Gurudev Siddha Peeth comes pretty close. I will never forget it. Thx Narasimha

I had the great good fortune to be able to stay at Gurudev Siddha Peeth for 3½ weeks- twice. The first time was during Christmas/New Years 1988/1989. Gurumayi was there with us, physically. What a divine blessing it was!The 2nd time was for PRASAD Chikitsa NetraPrakash Eye Camp in 1993. My Beloved Guru wasnt there physically, this time, but I truly felt Her presence within my heart, every moment. I never wanted to leave there. My heart was overflowing with love and gratitude to participate in the Eye Camp.Our Mother Ashram is Heaven on Earth.SadGurunath Maharaj Ki Jai!!!
