What a lovely location.Ive had several morning coffees, attended some birthdays and functions. All have been wonderful.There are some interesting regulars that enjoy a chat. Staff are friendly. Food is great & coffee brilliant.

I ordered the scone deal. It was good.My friends ordered the bacon and egg roll deal. We all agreed it was one of the best bacon and egg rolls we have ever had - both sides of the buns were toasted with melted cheese, had a big stack of bacon and TWO fried eggs! So worth it!! We also had nachos and it was a massive plate.Coffee was also quite good!!

Good location and coffee was ok. However, that is where the positives ends.Poached egg was hard, toast was badly underdone to the point that it cannot be categorised as a toast. Sausage was probably sitting in bain marie for quite some time, marinating in its own sweat. It resembled limp, overcooked frankfurt. Bacon was the same, under-cooked and sorry looking. I gave it to my dog - he refused to eat it.I didnt expect 3 Michelin star menu, but that was barely edible.To compound poor customer experience even further, the mature lady at the back (probably the owner) was dispensing her venom on staff.On the flip side, I didnt succumb to salmonella or botulism, hence the generous two stars.

Food was great, fresh and delicious. Definitely get your moneys worth. Impressive menu with option for every taste. 10/10 recommend.

Fantastic cafe AND restaurant, with views out to the Swansea channel and inlet to Lake Macquarie. Good coffee, menu is what you expect, and importantly good treats and good, quick service.

Went for a drive with the family and found this place in Swansea for lunch.First of all this cafe has an amazing view and what a location on the water. Service was average had to go to the counter to order and the staff did not really seem interested in offering a table however we were offered a menu and took a seat.Reading the past reviews I must say WE WERE NOT yelled at by staff or spoken to rudely.Onto the food. OVERPRICED, HOWEVER was very filling and a generous portion size. My steak sandwich was tasty however the meat was not the best, but fatty/grissily, Chips were top notch, we also had wedges which did not come with sour cream or sweet chili sauce but when we asked staff they gave us some and they were tasty. The Strawberry Milkshake was GREAT and the kids nuggets n chips were Tasty and filling. 3 Stars

We have been going to this restaurant for over 16 years and as of yesterday – WILL NEVER BE BACK. The day started fine as we ordered our breakfast on a busy Easter weekend – we ordered French Toast and Eggs Benedict and two coffees. The waiter brought around Eggs Benedict and Pancakes, and as it was so busy we did not catch him to tell him we ordered French Toast instead, assuming they must have heard us incorrectly and wrote the incorrect order. We weren’t bothered by this mistake so just kept the meals and ate them. As it turns out we received another tables order by mistake and so we offered to pay the difference in the meals. The owner of the café was extremely rude and hurtful implying that we deliberately took the meals even though the waiter mistakenly gave them too us. Instead of us paying the difference, she forced us to pay for not only our meals BUT MADE US PAY FOR THE TWO MEALS THAT THE OTHER TABLE HAD RECEIVED – meaning on top of the public holiday surcharge we had to pay for two meals that were consumed by another table! On top of all this – our coffees never came until after we were trying to figure out the bill. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE TO LOYAL CUSTOMERS – DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Unfortunately very poor food quality, people nice enough and views are great, but I wont be eating there again.

Lovely spot with great food, owever the older lady who works there is a total piece of work. Not only did she interrupt and rudely speak to the young waitress who was taking my order but she also had a go at another table very loudly and very rudely!! To the point where everyone stopped and was looking. If she is the owner, the only thing getting customers there are her chefs and beautiful staff because shes a piece of work who needs to respect the customers as well as her staff/team members. Would have been a 5 star rating but because of her, u get 1 star. I couldnt believe it!!

Ordered 2 regular coffees and 2 small coffees. The girl put it through the register but after I paid i realised that they charged me 10% more. My friend and I sat down to wait in the empty cafe with a capacity for 20 + people and were told to wait outside in the cold and wind. After almost 10 minutes the waiter came out with the coffees (which were watery and burnt) i asked about the 10% charge and he said its the bosses order to do so. I think they charge tourists more. Do not recommend.

Good0 spot for breaky with a view however coffee very ordinary and service was substandard. Forgot our order altogether!

Asked how I would like my eggs, told them scrambled, I was told that wasnt possible due to it would require more ingredients to make.Told it would cost extra to remove items from order.Coffee was rubbish and cold.After all this they forgot the bacon on my partners bacon and egg roll. Imagine being a Cafe that has the audacity to charge you to not cook something then turn around and forget 50% of the ingredients of a bacon and egg roll. Pathetic.

Foods pretty good. Not many staff, so need to be patient, nice sea breeze. Just enjoy it, has a beer while waiting, waitress said to help ourselves.

First they forgot the gravy. Then when they brought it out I found plastic floating in the gravy. Wont be back again.

We drive all the way from Sydney to this place only to have their butterscotch creme brûlée’, you have to try this!

Go regularly, best cappuccinos in Lake Macquarie. Tried the Mediterranean Melt yesterday, large serve and very tasty. Scones are better than I could make, and come with butter as well as the usual jam and cream. 👍🏼

Yuck! On entering the cafe the chef was standing in the door. Assuming she would be handing out the menu i said gday, only to be ignored. We found a seat and then she shouts from the doorway do you want a menu!? Without moving she holds out one menu for us both to share...when the food comes out the eggs and sausages are under cooked, the toast is basically stale bread and the mushrooms taste like chemicals. Not one staff member asked us how the meal was and Im not surprised. This place was straight out of Ramseys kitchen nightmares.

A waterfront cafe, small menu list but great food, went their for Valentines Day brunch, will visit again !

If I could give this restaurant ‘no stars’ I would. We went in for lunch today and it was an awful experience from the start. We sat at an empty table, and were asked to move tables because the table we had sat at was blocking a walkway because it wasn’t designed for three people.. we obliged, but no sooner had we sat down, than three people sat down at that exact table and were not asked not move!My mother and I both ordered the salt and pepper squid, but when it arrived my mother took her first bite and had to spit it into her napkin because it tasted so fowl and was off. She took it up to the counter to return it and inform the staff, and moments later I followed with mine, not wanting to eat it if hers was off. The lady was not impressed at the meal being returned and tried some of the squid off the plate and declared it ‘fine’, when I offered my plate she rudely took it with a grunt, to indicate she was displeased that we were both returning our meals. At no point were we offered an apology or a refund for our food. When my mother asked for a refund the lady grudgingly gave her one, and when my mother said ‘an apology would be nice’ the lady didn’t respond. Appalling service. This is the HOSPITALITY industry, but this restaurant show no hospitality whatsoever.

Lovely spot, terrible terrible service. We went for breakfast and the customer service is atrocious. As we walked in the older lady (presumably the owner) didnt even bother to say hello as we sat down. She was standing beside the young girl who was taking my order. I asked to swap the English muffin for Turkish bread as she turned around to go into the kitchen she barked at the young girl that the Turkish bread would be an extra dollar. Did not address me or even look at me. Will definitely not be back.

Lovely, casual cafe with great food and friendly service. The water views are great! Highly recommend the salt and pepper squid and the steak burger. Sweet potato wedges are a must!

This cafe was a gem with good food and a fantastic location. The new owner, Gwen and her indolent staff have turned it into a misery with poor food and appalling service. I used to enjoy this place so much and now I will only return if the cafe changes hands.

Absolutely horrendous. Waitress eventually took my order after complaining quite colourfully to a colleague about other customers. Walked away after taking my payment without finishing transaction. Food was actually worse than her service. I ordered a scotch fillet which I am positive was thawed in a microwave & the “Dianne” sauce was yellow gelatinous sickly goop. Do yourself a favour, go to the fish & chip shop around the corner.

This place said it was open until 430 but when a friend and I met there for coffee at 3pm the lady said they were packing up early as it wasnt busy. We would have ordered coffee and cake but apparently that wasnt good enough for the place to stay open until the hours advertised. Two other ladies also walked past and went in to sit down only to be told the same thing. People organise themselves off the times you advertise on Facebook and online so its really in your best interest to stick to those times. Wont be coming back.

Rude staff. Second time I have been there for breakfast and hesitated before entering, but decide to give them a second chance. Wish I hadnt wasted my time and money. Such a shame because the food is great but the staff make you feel like you shouldnt be in their cafe.

Always went here food was great and enjoyed it after the older friendly guy left it has went down hill, food was not good today salad tasted frozen banana bread was taken back twice and the edges was still soggy and smelt like something was spilled on it. If i could give a 1 star i would

My partner and I both order the most incredible burgers here 😍The price did take us back initially as it is rather high but the meals you receive are so worth it!We both ordered Crazy Shakes and they were so good!I definitely recommend this place!Also if youre vegetarian they have an amazing egg, salad and avocado roll that honestly is so large and difficult to finish but so damn filling!

Service was great....veggie pasty and side salad nice.

The new staff waitress was very friendly, however the cook staff were hopeless. They forgot our order and took over an hour to make 2 basic things and who cooks the buns for a salad sandwich.

Need for change. We had rasin toast and two coffees. They had trouble finding our table (41). We got the toast (which was just store bought bread and two small pats of butter) but the coffees didnt arrive at all. There was no table service but given the young and obviously inexperienced waitress I csn see why. You had to line up, order and pay before being served. The staff making the beverages shouted across the room to get help from the kitchen staff. Im not being mean by saying the staff were better equipped to run a takeaway rather than a cafe. Just that there two very different skill sets and they need to acquire the necessary hospitality skills to run a cafe. We left without getting our coffees as they just didnt seem to be able to find our table.

The steak was awful and wasnt edible, my sons chicken burger made him physically sick and Grandads plate didnt arrive at the table until everyone else had finished, even after the staff were reminded twice.My Pregnant Niece was refused the Vegan Vegie Breakfast because it was past breakfast time and had to settle for a bowl of wedges.My Grandad was offered free coffee and the steak dishes were offered some else.The Serving Staff( which could be heard bickering behind the counter ) blamed the Kitchen staff..We had to ask to have finished dishes removed from table.Nice view , clean and tidy , Good (although luke warm) coffee.

Nice venue. Seafood was good , but the corn & zucchini fritters were not fritters at all , mushie slop that got left on the plate , it will be um & arr if we try THIS cafe again.. unfortunately !

Average coffee and average meals. Half our side orders didn’t arrive and when we questioned why it was a complete imposition.I witnessed absolutely disgraceful behaviour by a lady making the coffees (An older lady with reddish hair presumably the owner) The way she spoke to customer when they asked for a glass of ice was unbelievably uncalled for.When the gentleman walked away she proceeded to make comments about him that were borderline racist. Her language and behaviour was unlike anything I’ve witnessed for a simple And polite request. If she’s the owner she will quickly loose customers and staff, I feel sorry for the other staff that are trying to help and work with her. If you don’t want to provide customer service, don’t work in this industry. Do not eat or drink here.

This was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had.. Ordered salt and pepper squid and first mouthful of squid tasted like vomit, literally, and when I took it back the woman behind the counter made no apology at all and wanted to know whether I wanted to order something else.My daughter also ordered the squid and hers was suspicious but she was not sure if she had disguised it with sauce.. So lost confidence to eat it.. You dont muck around with possibly off seafood. After a brief pause to consider we decided to get a refund and the woman remained rude and unapologetic and reckoned she had tasted some off one of the plates and they were fine.... Yur..r..k! Really?Their service was altogether poor right from the start but this was obscene!Dont go there!!!

Sat down paid $30 for pancakes and had three fire alarms go off the whole time we ate. Wont be back. Bad service, disgusting glasses like they hadnt been washed.Pancakes were ok.

Great coffee an iced choclate

Food was nice and the view was spectacular but the ice coffee was awful. My husband and I both got one and we couldnt even drink it and I we are the least bit fussy.

Decor could do with an update, but the menu has interesting options and the food is good, more importantly so is the coffee. Staff are pretty friendly, inside and outside seating options and plenty of drink options as well.

Horrible, rude, slow. Recently went for morning tea only to be kept waiting for 5 min for our coffee and milkshake, which sat on their counter for at least 5 minutes after food served, . Walked up to collect them understanding waitress may be busy, only to be yelled at for collecting the delayed service. NEVER AGAIN

What an absolutely horrible experience. Went to have breakfast with a friend over the Easter weekend and wow what a mistake. I ordered a chief burger which was $20 and was about the quality of a woolies packet salad mixed with cheap bread and eggs, absolutely horrible. My friend ordered avocado and eggs on toast for an extra $4 which included avocado that looked like a coles avocado dip and burnt toast on the side. Our drinks never turned up and when I enquired about that wait, the Male staff member responded with I dont know man So we ended up asking for a refund on the drinks and a lady with purple and blue highlights yelled at us and said well were just busy because it is a public holiday and we are the only cafe open other than McDonalds in this area who are all fast food in the rudest tone and on top of that there were nearby cafes trading. Never have I left a restaurant laughing in disbelief that a manager of a cafe taunted us over a refund because their service was under pressure and then on top of that bagged out a competitor in the area. Unprofessional, awful food and rubbish service, never again. 😡

Should not have spent my money here. What an absolute joke. Never have I walked out of a restaurant laughing with disbelief of the appalling customer service.Went to have a lovely breakfast over the Easter break and now wishing I just stayed at home as I could of made a better meal myself.My order was eggs on toast with avocado and the person serving me had a very negative attitude and just palmed me off when I asked a simple question of “what bread do you serve this with?” We were then sent to a table that had no chairs and were told to find some!Once the meals had arrived, it looked as if they got a Woolworths brand loaf of bread along with a dollop of avocado that was an extra $4 which wouldn’t even cover half the slice. Terrible presentation of the food and that’s not even all.We finished our meals still awaiting on our drinks to be served. My friend kindly asked when our drinks would be ready and was given the answer, “I don’t know man” by one of the staff members. We asked for a refund on the beverages as we did not want to wait any longer and was absolutely shocked with the response from the lady that works there. She came from across the counter and started yelling at us making it clear that they’re busy due to it being a public holiday and said, “we are the only cafe open today besides McDonalds which is all fast food!” when clearly the cafes next door were open!Just because you’re under a little pressure, that doesn’t excuse the appalling customer service because at the end of the day, it’s our money that we are giving to a business and we expect a good standard of service atleast!And another thing to add, as we were leaving the restaurant she started yelling out “HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY GUYS, ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!” In the most sarcastic and derogatory tone I’ve ever witnessed in a hospitality setting!Could not help but laugh at this terrible, terrible experience.Never. Ever. Again.
