In April 2019 I bought the Scangrip i-view working head lamp from Amazon. In January this year, the head light stopped charging and therefore did not function anymore. Since there is no warranty center available in Germany, I sent the defective lamp via DHL on 25.01.01 directly to Scangrip in Denmark. After not hearing from them for three weeks, I asked via email what the status of the warranty issue is.First, they tried to convince me that the dealer would be responsible. In the case of Gewährleistung / statutory warranty that would be correct, but the manufacturer has issued a two year manufacturers warranty, so this is legally a wrong assertion. Then after they acknowledget that this is really a manufactuers warranty case, they asserted they never received the package. Since DHL does not provide a tracking number for tiny parcels (although they charged €9,00) the only back up I had was the receipt from the post office from which I sent the parcel. Without tracking number, both the Denmark office and later on a representative of the German sales office refused to honor the case. How likely is it, that the package really got lost along the way? One in a 100.000 or one in a million cases? Just the fact that they tried to push the case back to the retailer makes me very suspicious about their practices. In any case: if you really decide to buy a product from Scangrip, make sure that you keep all receipts and ensure a defective product does get sent by Hermes or another forwarder which gives you proof of delivery.
