Ranakdevi Temple, belonging to the 10th century temples, is situated at Wadhwan inSurendranagar District of Gujarat.This beautifully decorated temple consits of a full fledged Shikhara, a sanctum and a porch. It has sculptured niches on the cardinal offsets with simple design.The temple is linked with a famous story of Sati Ranakdevi and the great Solanki ruler Siddhraj Jaisinh. Ranakdevi committed Sati at this place to protect her honour, when Siddhraj Jaisinh murdered her husband, Ra Khengar and her two sons.Wadhwan is located on the banks of Bhogavo River. Two ancient step wells in the town - the Madha Vav (built in 1294) and the Ganga Vav (built in 1169) are fine examples of subterranean architecture, typical of Gujarat.

This place also is a location for Ancestral Shrines (Paliya) of many families including Pakla Bhatt. Paliya are made in remembrance of those who sacrificed their life protecting innocents.

This place is attributed to queen Ranakdevi wife of Sorath chudasama ruler Ra Khengar .Siddhraj Jaysinh attacked uparkot and killed Ra khengar ,Siddhraj Jaysinh wanted to marry queen Ranakdevi but she refused & burnt alive with her husbands body and became shati. This place is situated near bhogavo river.
