Very busy area but dirty. As old city people mainly rickshaw drivers and rest of road side peddlers spit everywhere. Even residential people throw their household garbage on the streets.I went to kumbhar vada - a place to buy all pottery items including plantars, matka ( for water) , clay tawa. Amazing variety in these things.Also one of the shop selling all ceramic items ( plantars , crockery) . Very nice collection at affordable rates. If you buy same things from online shopping site or from posh area, you have to pay double . Collection is so good , you name any thing and you find thay thing made up of clay or ceramic. Must visit area for your needs.

One of the oldest monument and architectural piece in the city of Surat. It was constructed in 1871 by Khan Bahadoor Burjorjee Merwanjee Fraser in the memory of his father Merwanjee Hormusjee Fraser and for the convenience of the inhabitants of Surat. Standing at around 80m high, it is one of the tallest structure in the vicinity even today.The parts of clock that were initially mechanical were replaced with battery operated quartz.Currently it is not accessible for public to go inside but however the outside view is mesmerizing and makes you wonder about the craftsmanship and design of the clock that is visible from corners even today. It is one of the first thing you will come across while travelling from Surat station towards Bhagal, a popular shopping area. The glazing beauty of clock tower makes you want to keep looking at it from various spots.

This is one of the very few monument in Surat which is still preserved. I dont know if it is practical, but try to make it more attractive and viewable from inside. New generation dont know how this mechanism worked.

Its is very old and famous area which is situated on Surats Rajpath. This is one and only oldest working clock tower in Surat city. Here is very busy road but also narrow road for this type of busy road. It is iconic and heritage clock tower. It is sample of Roman architecture.

This clock tower is one of the oldest tower with clocks on all 4 sides. Years ago, it was identity of Surat City. All clocks were working with the chanting of hourly bells. Presently, the clock is not working, but it is worth watching.
