I would recommend you give it a look.See the show at the planetarium (45 mins long) and the 3D show (lasts about 10 mins). Apart from that there is a fun science section that needs a lot of work but might be fun for kids 10 years of age. There is a museum that covers history of Surat, philately, handicrafts and coins.There is a section that covers the history of the diamond industry in Surat as it produces almost 75% of the worlds polished diamonds. The stones in the museum are all fake, but the history is worth understanding.

The Sardar Patel Museum is in Surat, Gujarat, India, and was established in 1890.[1] At the time of establishment, the museum was well known as the Winchester Museum. The museum was named Sardar Patel Museum after independence.[1] The museum is also known as Sardar Sangrahalaya.[1]The museum consists of a planetarium, ancient relics, paintings, science gallery, amphitheater, art gallery, auditorium and restaurant. The audio in the auditorium will be in three languages-Hindi, Gujarati and English. The museum has more than eight thousand relics and antiques.[1]It was organized in 1890.[2

4 weeks agoA great and well maintained place to visit. Now run as a museum, learned a lot about Sardar Patel life depicted with help of dioramas and different exhibits. Theres also a vast library with books written in different languages on the ground floor.A must visit place in surat

Surat has such rich and long history is unknown to most of us young genrration people. The displays are very modern, just like Europe etc. However, they dont allow photos to be taken. They should change this policy. It will help spread information and bring more people to the museum.All Gujarat students should visit this. Especially madrasa students. Our parents dont have correct knowledge of the history.Ticket price is reasonable.

Nice museum but not much things to see.It is majorly filled with old vessels and utensils of clay.

Great for one time visit. Lots of stuff to see and learn about.

Its educative and might even be inteesting for those who are interested in stuff like that.. I was impressed though by the display and the preservation of the countrys history as displayed in the museum - not all countries have been able to do this.Dont expect to have fun here with friends

Historical place and has a great good looking structure.But we, the surtis dont look back in history too much, we do not even try to peep in past if it has no impact on us personally.🤣So many places we have with good historical memories but we dont care too much.We respect all the cultures Incl Hindu, Muslim, Jain, Parsi, Sikh, etc. But we too have our own culture called Happy people by not caring too muchAnd this is what makes us one of the carelessly happiest people in the whole country and world itself..!Proud to be Surti. ❤️
