A beautiful and peaceful temple. There are two alternatives to reach here one by on foot which is a long route via the jungle and the other one is by vehicle. The first one is more serene ofcourse.

Trek is awesome and the peak takes away all the fatigue of the trek.

Surkanda Devi is a Hindu temple near Kanatal, Uttarakhand, India. It is at an altitude of about 2756 metres lies close to nearby hill stations of Dhanaulti ...8 kilometres [5.0 mi]) and Chamba (22 kilometres [14 mi]) walking distance of approx 3 kilometres [1.9 mi] from Kaddukhal, the place where vehicles are parked.It is surrounded by dense forests and affords a scenic view of the surrounding region including the Himayas to the north, and certain cities to the south (e.g., Dehradun, Rishikesh) The Ganga Dusshera festival is celebrated every year between May and June and attracts a lot of people. This is a temple which is situated among the trees of rounslii. It is covered with fog most of the time of the year.

When you reach this destination, your first eye sight would be on its nature and natural scenery... Really awesome scene... After little bit of hard work you would be able to reach the temple because temple is situated at observable height... But when you enter the Temple campus, you will speak only one word that is OMG..! Really the campus with Snow everyone increases temples beauty and shows the divine god creation that how much great they are... None of them who reached at the top with me werent enjoying the moment...And what to say about the GarbhaGriha of the temple, if you sit here and close your eyes for a while your mind get completely in peaceful stage. You wont be able to get off from that place because of your wish to sit there for a long time....Though we face some tiredness but It was an awesome journey and experience.

Seeing the beauty of the mountains, my heart gets more cheerful. So this location is one of my fav one.

Its a heaven on the peak of the mountain. Lots of pilgrims and hikers comes here to bow down on the feet of Mother Surkanda Devi.Just 7 kilometers drive from Dhanaulti and you arrives at the gate of temple. Now carry your small backpack with water bottle and a jacket and start the trekking of 2.5 kms.You can get many snacks and colddrinks shops during the trekking. And dont forget the good camera for the awesome views from the top of the mountain.Quick meals and beverages are also available in few shops just behind the temple.
