It belongs to the Services and Safety Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The staff of this organization acts as the first responder in any disaster including fire. Among the 11 upazilas existing in Sunamganj district, at present Sunamganj, South Sunamganj, Chhatak. There are 08 fire stations in Jagannathpur, Dirai and Bishwambharpur upazilas. Out of 18 posts in the district, 65 officers and employees are working and 101 posts are vacant. Besides, Jamalganj 92% and Dharmapasha 50% work has been completed under 156 projects. Tender has been invited from Doara Bazar Fire Station and land acquisition of Tahirpu Fire Station is in process.
