Exactly what I expected for authentic Indian cuisine, definitely will return.

I moved away six years ago so coming back I was hoping it was as good as I remembered. The service was outstanding, restaurant was spotless as always, but the chicken tikka masala wasnt very tender. The diet coke tasted a bit bland and flat too (was it Pepsi?). The rice has changed as well; I dont know if its because they stopped using butter. Still the best garlic naan bread Ive ever had. The flavors are still generally there but the methods have declined a bit. Ill give it another chance before finding a new spot.

Got the dinner for two with my partner and it was amazing!! We also ordered an appetizer which was great but totally unnecessary because they brought our the main course before we even finished them. Our server was very polite and friendly as well. Definitely get the chai tea!Absolutely coming back here again.

Buffet was amazingly tasty. Best Indian restaurant in St. Louis. Inside ambience is very nice, parking space is sufficient, staffs were very courteous. I was skeptical when I had chosen House of india for team lunch but all of the very happy with food and ambience. We will come again!!!

The chicken tikka masala kind of tasted like buffalo wing sauce. Ordered two, a mild one and a hot one-- provided in unlabeled containers, but readily identified them by taste.

Got order for two last night take out dinner. Soup, curry, and mixed grill. Some chutney and Indian pickles plus 2 kinds of bread. Everything is pretty delicious, except for meat in mixed grill was dry and tough. Some pieces were literally hard as a rock.

If you want some Indian that us not spicy this is a good option. Food was okay as I have had great Indian food else where in St Louis area. What I loved the most is the music, they have great collection.

If your looking for awesome authentic Indian cuisine then look no further. I could tell right off the bat that it was good with the aroma of spices when we walked in the door. I had the chicken makhani dish. It did not disappoint. We also indulged in an appetizer before our food came out. I don’t think you could go wrong anyway you go.

I ordered 2 different items and that’s what they send me I was missing a plate of rice and when I called them they told me we thought y’all going to share the rice if I payed for 2 different meals why send me one smh never again

Very bad service. Could not understand our order and said could not serve anything without onion and garlic. Which is completely new to us. We go to all India restaurant this was first we had to walkout of any restaurant without food. Very bad never coming back to this restaurant.

If you like indian food. This is a must place visit in st louis. Their lunch buffet is great food quality at great price. Their dinner menu is also very good and tasty.

Dont know much about Indian food but I think this particular food good!. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered, nobody complained and the amount of food per dish, was plenty. The beers are pretty average, nothing special but refreshing.I think the service is worth mention because he did a good job. They place was not full or anything so he focused on us. Although he took his time taking the order he made sure everything was correct. Never had my glass of water empty (sometime this was kinda overwhelming but in general I appreciate it). I feel Id recommend this place.

It had been a very long time since I had Indian and I was excited to try out this place since a friend recommended it. I had the Yogi thali with a side of plain naan bread and onion kulcha. My friends had the lamb Rogan josh, chicken vindaloo and chicken saag. My friends really enjoyed their curries and I also liked the fact that there was enough to share between 3 people. I was excited to try out the thalis. The vegetable korma complemented the onion kulcha very well and the spinach from the palak paneer didn’t overwhelm my palate. The Kheer was creamy and the rice was cooked just right. However, the chai tea that came with it tasted like it had been watered down.

Are dinner here tonight and it was fantastic!! My mom and I ordered a spread for Mother’s Day and we had plenty for leftovers (Yey!). We got a Chickpea appetizer and korchumber (sp?) appetizer. My mom got tandoori chicken and I got chicken saag with paneer paratha bread for our main dishes.Everything was beyond delicious and our server was amazing. Food arrived very promptly, too!I used to live in San Francisco and am so glad to have found some good Indian food to enjoy again when I visit my mom. So delicious!

I ordered multiple orders of food, and only got one side of rice and stated that I needed rice to go with each order. My food was not done within a timely manner. And when I called about the rice they assumed I ordered multiple orders of food for one person.

Malai koftha has coconut and its unique I have ever seen and tasty! Rest is common.

House of India is simply the best Indian dining experience in St. Louis. The décor is modest and understated and the attentiveness, friendliness, and eagerness of the staff to serve you well make it a very relaxed and welcoming environment for casual dining. The food is mainly Northern Indian cuisine and the dishes are perfectly spiced but with the heat turned down just a hint to appeal to the majority of local diners tastes (with the exception of the vindaloo dishes…).

Uncooked rice and all ordered items are cold. One of worst indian restaurants. I will never ever recommend this Indian restaurant.

The service here is excellent and very friendly. They have a menu that covers just about any Indian dish youre in the mood for. Ive found it hard to find high quality Indian cuisine in St. Louis, but this place is the first to impress me. Theres lots of unique flavor to their dishes, and noticeably fresh veggies/spices. Dinner service gives you far more options to choose from than the lunch buffet, so Id definitely recommend giving it a try!

The food here is very good however, our server was a tad bit unwelcoming. In the future I will remember to place my orders to go instead of dining in.

First time at House Of India. Dinner was delicious! A lot of variety with the menu, even the vegetarian options. Alcohol is available, beer and wine. Staff was friendly. Very pleasant environment. Very good portions of food, very reasonably priced. I highly recommend.

This is our favorite place to order out! Ive ordered by phone and online many times without any issues, the staff are always kind and attentive. Even when we ate there in person pre-COVID it was great!

With all the standard dishes, with both plated meals and buffet, this is a great choice if you like Indian dishes. Tandoori, curry -- all flavorful and tempered down to the average American palate (not overly spicy). Prices are reasonable, so a solid value too. Small shop so you wont get lost is a shuffle.

Good place. Worth trying it out. We tried chicken makhani, chicken biryani and fish vindaloo with Naan and rice. Biryani and Chicken Makhani was tasty. Fish Vindaloo was tangy and i am not a big fan of it. Also, Naan was spongey, which is not my favorite either.

The service was outstanding, the prices are affordable, and the food tastes amazing. I will recommend.

Got my go to Indian meal of chicken vindaloo and Naan to go. Vindaloo was okay, not spicy at all and its vindaloo come on! Naan was okay. Id go back again because close to downtown Clayton. Been to way better places in loop and chesterfield Valley.

The buffet was alright, came here with a friend who did not like the food as much as other Indian restaurants weve tried. I thought it was good but nothing stands out.

This indian restaurant has the best samosas. Spice levels are serious here. Its easy to order online right now and their anticipated wait time is accurate.

If I may say, i have eaten at a variety of indian restaurants from most major cities in United States and the food from India House is one of the best food I had ! I have also tried all indian restaurants in St Louis as well, and House of India has the best food out of all.Their appetizer dishes are excellent, their daal is awesome and their chicken curry, chicken tikka masala were just perfect.If you are in St Louis and wanting the indian food, I would not waste your money and calories at anywhere else !

Went there for lunch buffet. Its all you can eat for basically $10/person. Seating was quick, service was good, and you can begin serving your food immediately. Nice budget meal for a family.

I went to House of India with a group for a friends birthday. The food was great, but it was the service that really stuck out. They were so friendly and made all of us feel welcome. Our thoughtful waiter even brought the birthday girl a free dessert! I will definitely be going back.

Authentic Indian lunch buffet located on Delmar. This buffet is very clean and serves up delicious authentic Indian dishes. Great place to come hungry because the food is so good it is difficult to stop. Very reasonably priced buffet at only $9.95 for lunch. Worth checking out if you enjoy good Indian food.

Its nice that for carry out they bring the food to your car. Its was just sad that for us, that was where the nice part of the meal ended. Everything tasted a bit reheated. The Naan was room temperature. The Mango Kulfi was good at least.

We love this place! Just a great dining experience. Haven’t been out much with COVID so went here and felt right at home. Makes the dining experience feel like family. Started with a generous combo plate appetizer. For entrees I wanted anything with lamb off the menu. Decided on Rogan Josh and the lamb was cooked perfect. Mixed grill with Tikka Masala was my wife’s go to favorite. Of course the fresh garlic Naan was perfect for scooping up every bit of leftover sauce. Until next time!

Tandoor items are not made in clay tandoor

This is our family’s favorite Indian restaurant in the St. Louis area. We have been here many times and the food never disappoints. While there are other restaurants serving good Indian food, what sets House of India apart is the quality of service. Management takes a personal interest in looking after their guests and they remember us each time we visit. Rather than being waited on by a single server, we are attended by several wonderful gentlemen, including members of the owner’s family, who each look after us. It makes for a more genuine family experience than you’ll get at most restaurants.

Buffet during lunch! The flavors here are more subtle than other Indian food restaurants. The curries are lighter and less overpowering. I would guess it also is healthier. I left feeling satisfied but not stuffed, which I normally do. The quality of their chicken was very good. Slight knock for not having as many curries as l would like to see and bathroom not very clean or pleasant.

Awesome food but not halal. We happened to visit this place over the memorial day weekend. The staff was very nice. I inquired about the non-veg served is halal, initially the waiter said yes but later he came back and informed that it is not halal. A big thanks to the staff for being honest. I really appreciate it. I had to order vegetarian food and boy they are good. Loved the food. I recommend this to everyone who is looking for good Indian food. Only thing to remember is it is not halal.

I ordered a variety of dishes, including Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Ginger Kabab, Shrimp-Do-Piaza, Roti and Chicken Pakora. The Tandoori was out of this world delicious, perfectly seasoned and tender. The addition of the onions and bell peppers added to the overall taste of the chicken. The Ginger Kabab was also very well seasoned. I could really taste the ginger but it didnt overwhelm my tastebuds. Im partial to the Tandoori, but I hear the Chicken Ginger Kabab is a very popular dish. I felt like there wasnt enough shrimp in the Shrimp-Do-Piaza, although it was another tasteful entree, which was complimented perfectly by the Roti. The Roti, by the way, was exquisitely baked in the clay oven and had just the right texture and feel. Finally, the Chicken Pakoras were a delight. Overall, this was an amazing culinary experience and I will certainly be making frequent return visits to House of India.

Its really nesty.nd the beater is sick.when I told about this they go nd chnge nd they give me the same food on which employee cough.so be careful to go there.i dont want any bdy get sick after eating that resturant food

Tuesday February 25 was my first time eating at House of India and it is now my new favorite Restaurant with Indian cuisine. My King and I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, food and HUGE shout to our Akil. He knew exactly what we wanted and had Amazing energy and vibes. I know that one of the dishes we ate was called vegetable korma...and it was delicious 😋. Garlic Naan was everything. Will be back for sure and for all the Yummy goodness it was priced very reasonably

I adored House of India in their old high-rise location by the airport, and have only visited them after their move to the new digs a couple of times. Im pleased to say that the food is as delicious as ever, the service is attentive, and the decor - while not as flamboyant as it was previously - recaptures a good deal of their old charm. Ill have to make the drive out here more often.

I have been here 3 times in the past couple of months and every time it has been fantastic. The Lamb Korma is my favorite. Very tender meat. The service is great - very kind people and attentive. Nice quiet atmosphere with tasteful decor. Ive only been for dinner and the buffet was not open, but their dinner entrees have all been great! Very reasonably priced.

I had lunch here for the first time on 12/6/18. I was blown away by the delicious meal I had. It was crowded, but they offer a buffet of hot food. I found the food fresh, hot, and very very tasty. The variety was good. I will admit I do not know the names of the food, but it was served with naan as it should be and I recognized the spices and think they were very fresh. If that were not enough, the price was under $10 for the buffet, which was well worth it. I highly recommend House of India on Delmar if you are a fan of Indian food or if you would like to try it for the first time. I went alone! I will note that I am not affiliated with House of India, nor did anyone pay me for this recommendation. I just really loved it.

I gauge service based on if I run out of water and I never do here.A solid date night choice because the food is good and the venue is nicer than most Indian restaurants I have been to.

Fantastic service and absolutely delicious food. Plus, if you leave there feeling hungry, that means you didnt order any food. The portion sizes are very good, with appetizers other items priced low enough to encourage experimentation.

Carry out order was ready at time agreed. Containers were warm and leak resistant. Korma vegetable with chicken was delicious. Shrimp meal was also tasty. Friendly host.
