Polo Ground is a name central to the Srinagar city. The city revolves around the famous Polo Ground. It is strange that all types of sports are played here except Polo. But that was not the case during Maharajas rule. During Maharajas time, Polo was played in the Polo Ground by the Britishers. But after Britishers left, the game was no longer played. Now what remains is the symbolic Polo Ground but no Polo. Polo Ground is a well known location of the valley. It is the main hub of footballers of the valley. It is now modernized thanks to the government. Polo ground hosts many national level football games in summer season.Now even flood lights are installed to start night matches in the ground. There is space for spectators to enjoy the match. But, I feel the space for viewers should be more, as in National level matches many people dont get seats due to few of them. I myself have watched many matches here, I love them.There should be many grounds like this in the valley. Also, try to add other modern facilities to the ground, so our players have world class training and facilities available.
