The newly constructed library at M. A Road Srinagar has wonderful reading facilities for senior citizen members but a general tendency in the student community of nearby colleges has been noticed of usurping such facilities for exam preparations thus depriving the senior citizen members from taking the advantage of reserved space. It is further noticed with pain and anguishes that such students on being ticked by concerned staff and officers of the library misbehave with the library staff. They are at times approaching young journalists to get the distorted news published in some lesser known local newspapers. There is also a well maintained section for rich manuscripts and rare books.
Provides very good environment to study very well maintained but its very difficult to find books we need as their is no catalogue. And need to add more reading room. The Employe are also very friendly l

It also has a collection of 74 Manuscripts in Persian, Sanskrit, Arabic, and Urdu. The newly inaugurated building has sections for Senior Citizens, Reference section, Children’s Section, Art Gallery and various other facilities like a reading room with Internet Facility, coffee shop etc. This Library has a collection of more than one Lakh and fifty thousand books.Emphasising the high importance of cultivating reading habits, Governor observed that books enhance our knowledge and help us in developing a better understanding of the events which shape our societies.
It has good infrastructure. An ideal place for study. But it lacks a good books collection and also it remains opened for very few hours...at present on the day of posting it has 10 am to 4 pm timing
SPS Library is one of the best library in kashmir..When I was went here I feel very proud ...And I hope

Best library in Srinagar for reading . Very clean and peaceful. Separate reading room for girls available and lot of reading stuff is available. And the management is also very good
No, wifi, and the worst part is that your phones internet also dont work inside the library. But overall its free and Air-conditioned Hall.
Washroom of ground floor should be repaired, otherwise most of the things are really good and very good place to study.
Calm place for book reading and great collection of books. Interesting place for readers. Do visit here
9 Things I would wish our Dept of Libraries knew are possible even in this part of world.1. More space to accomodate students.2. Cleaner and well aeriated washrooms.3. All books catalogued and digitized for easy retrieval.4. Online registration and unmanned entrance by fingerprint or eye scan identification. (these technologies are not inaccessible or expensive any more).5. 24x7 access ( Am I asking too much in Kashmir?)6. Pantry and coffee kiosk and not just its signboard.7. Parking. They forgot undergrounds could be utilized too.8. Lockers that work.9. Space for children and retireds that for Gods sake, is open.
It is a good thing for students here in the city, But lack of interest from administration and state govt.No visits, No accountability resulting in zero improvements and i,e very unfortunate for us..If govt. is serious about education then it must change timing to (24 hrs) and have regular visits.
Decent place to be at calm and read without any disturbance. You can carry your laptop and work in peace as well
Worst experience. we cant search the book location online. we have to manually go and check every rack, also the staff is not so much co-operative. Male staff Freely smoke in the Library Hall. It was so disappointing.
The Environment Of Library And Behaviour Of Staff Is Very Loving And Best feeling Loved At Library But The Problem Is Only That Govt. isnt Get New Books There Bcz Of Shortage of New Books Of New Syllabi Of All Colleges And Universities Students facing This Problem And Its The Fault Of Govt. Otherwise All Other Environment Is Good
Is it open today plzz rplyy anyone. Nd is there any contact no. Of them
Pretty messed up library! Needs hell lot of work to be done.
Its a beautiful place for a peaceful reading. The most difficult is to search for the desired books because of lack of catalogue. Hope new addition of books attract it more
Was only hope for students, it as closed on false grounds. Staff is full of unscrupulous persons.
It Is Awesome.

The only issue is the timing itz 9 to 5
Perhaps best place in sgr 😘😘😘
Good but needs some more improvement

Enroll yourself first; that is to be done offline with a guarantee from a government official. You may be loaned a book or read on site.
Quality time to study and for research .
I had borrowed a book and when i go to return the book the person seated in counter told me that i was 1 min late and he can not take it back.further there was not written any such timing anywhere .so all i can say is that administration is worst.otherwise the library is beautiful bt as usual need a lot more books ...
I have seen fish markets that werent as noisy as this library.Oh and the reading room has like fifty books.
Good and Clean place with toilets being an exception.Need to make it 24*7 with Wifi facilities & a Cafe Construction works outside creates disturbanceOverall Good but needs more Improvement
