An old temple which has the same importance as the the kamleshwar mahadev temple in srinagar. This temple is having idol of vishnu without his sudarshan chakra. it is said that sudarshan chakra was given as blessing by shiva at kamleshwar temple which is about a km from this temple.

The Shankar Math temple is a very ancient and magnificent temple, where Lord Vishnu and Mata Lakshmi ji have an extremely statue of black color. In which the statue of Lord Vishnu can be seen without Sudarshan Chakra. During the festival of Vaikunth Chaturdasi, which is held in the city, the lamp is first ignited at the first place, after which the worshiping ceremony is started by lighting the unbroken lamp in Kamleshwar Mahadev.
