Stunningly beautiful and well maintained library. Excellent place to visit just to enjoy the architectural style and embellishments. Hospitable staff and well-appointed Childrens area. On the grounds of Springfield Museums, with the back entrance leading to a large courtyard and the Dr. Seuss Sculpture Park. There are free parking lots on State Street across from the front of the Library and on Edwards Street in the museum lot.

The most wonderfully spacious library in Western Massachusetts! A Carnegie-funded library that was built in 1912 has a lot to offer. Lots of historical elements at the library. If youre ever in the downtown area, make sure to stop by soon! 📚

Wide variety of books available, from biblical apocrypha to ged and other course study books. Also has great fictional novels. The staff here will extend your computer time at least twice which is awesome.

It is a wonderful place for children and adults of all ages to go,and especially for young children. I take my 4y.o. and 5y.o sons there every couple of weeks and they LOVE learning how to use the computers, playing games on the computer, looking at and reading all the books and they also have some learning toys in there as well. And the childrens room down in the bottom floor is amazing!!!I would recommend to this branch of the library for children of any age..

Been going here since I was high school. Even worked at this library for two summers through the MCDI summer work program. Beautiful place to work in and the staff was nice and taught us everything. Fun 2 summers and now I take my children there.

I went to High School of Commerce, so this library was the place that I hung out with my friends every day after school. I have always loved the outside look of the library - very historical and Renaissance feel to it. Theres a good selection of books. I used to borrow Manga and young adult novels. When I was in college I would go to the career section to read about jobs and career stuff. Dont underestimate this library. You will find what you need here!

Excellent library, and excellent selection of books and educational materials. It needs diversity in professional employees, but it is the only thing that it lacks. The attention to the public, and the spirit of serving the public is admirable sense that you feel of all the people who work there. In addition the programming of events and programs for children and young people is phenomenal.
