Swami Subodhananda (disciple of Sri Ramkrishna Paramahamsa) got the divine vision of Ma Kothari Devi while meditating here, he saw an old lady looking similar to that of her grandmother, came here and fanned him and asked him to give her some beetle leaf (paan) as an offering. Next day Subodhananda ji bought some beetle leaf along with paan masala and offered her, in the temple.
