A lovely nature reserve, ideal for a family hike. There are 2 carparks, it cost £3 to stay for the whole day on the weekend. Theres also a small eco cafe with picnic benches and toilets. There are lots of benches to sit and eat lunch on as you walk around the south side of the park. We did a 4 mile walk around the Burnham Beeches, which was pretty easy with not too many difficult sections. Also a great place for kids to explore.
Big wooded area with lots of paths. Very pleasant walking. Only thing I dont like is the huge ants everywhere (4 or 5 times bigger than standard ones). Wouldnt want to sit down for a picnic! They look like the biting kind.😬
Beautiful place, lots of different habitats to explore. Not easy to reach by public transport, but worth a visit. Loved it!
This is a wonderful mature woodland area with a number of well maintained trails throughout. This really is a place best visited on a Bright Sunny day with a gentle breeze. Under such conditions you get the dappled sunlight dancing on the woodland floor, filtered by the bright green canopy above. If you pick up the pamphlet from the information centre, you can follow the main paths around the woods and past the ponds. But if you go off these routes into the forest, its best to have your smartphone with you, so you can navigate yourself back to the car park. Slough is very lucky to have this resource on its doorstep.
Got a parking fine for 15 mins as I picked up my grandkids
Gloriously autumnal in crisp October sunshine. Well worth a stroll: varying things to enjoy at different times of year - just now there are gorgeous colours and fascinating fungi. The experience is only marred by poor parking arrangements with unreliable ticket machines that require £3 in loose change.
Good Nature reserve .Thanks to the people before us for preserving this and their wise thinking .I am blessed with the Nature walks, cycling and the Yoga exercise we do by one of the huts with a work friend that we are now retired and use our time wisely. Also I cured my sciatica 98% , thanks to my niece who is a Pychiatrist for introducing me to Burnham Beeches Nature reserve .I thank all the forestry work force who keep the Nature reserve in good order, trimming the trees, blowing the leaves with the machines and keeping the streams and Lakes in order. Please be aware of ants active in this weather 🤠 bite swells . July 2021 ,a friend had to visit doctor. Leg turned dark brown 😁 you dont want that !
Lovely place to walk. Car parking machines are a bit of a nuisance, they dont take cash and often the signal doesnt work for card payments. Paying by phone also seems to be a problem on occasion too
It is a beautiful place, but irresponsible dog owners make this place awful. Ive been run at by growling barking dogs, bitten, lunged at, shouted at by owners when I asked them to control their dogs, one man became so aggressive, after his barking crazy dogs chased me over a fence and continued barking at me for ages until the owner showed up, I was on the phone to the police when the man finally showed up, so they were able to hear the owner yell at me, and try to defend his dogs (a lurcher and smaller dog, both dark coloured) actions, saying they had become aggressive because they had been chasing a deer (chasing deer is illegal in the reserve). I no longer visit everyday as I used to. I only visit if i can take a chaperone so we can have a bit of power against the aggressive owners and dogs. A pack of apx 8 dogs (one wears a bell on its neck) are so aggressive, one of the pack reared up, charged me and barked as it lunged at my leg, the 5 people walking the pack, one man was in a wheel chair, all laughed and found the attack hilarious, I called the police and beeches rangers and left a description. Very unsafe place to walk, a death or serious mauling is an accident waiting to happen. I even read in a historical news report that several walkers have been attacked over the years...and yet no patrols or extra foot staff are there to help. The dogs still run off lead, chase deer, other wildlife, and people. Some dogs are friendly, but a huge percent are aggressive and dangerous. The actual beaches themselves are beautiful.
Great place for a walk just a shame you are only allowed to walk dog off lead for 40% of the park!!
Definitely a place to go with the family!
Huge area for walking in. Trees are beautiful this time of year. Lovely place to get away from Covid
Beautiful place
It is a beautiful place to relax and get fresh air. It is an ideal place for a evening or morning walk. The beautiful landscape will make you feel much better. A great Park for strolling and having a nice and quiet time. This is a great Park for any time of day. If you walk down to the lake in the middle of the park, you can go get some food at a small cafe near the entrance. Beautiful place to hangout during summer ,spring or autumn! Burnham Beeches also got so many benches to sit for a bit and also is one of those places where you can really take a clean breath.
Ok
I love Burnham Beeches. It is a place to escape from the hustle and bustle of life and wander among the ancient woodlands. I love taking a camera and photographing the gnarly old trees and the different shapes you can see in the branches. Chilling out in forests is big in Japan they call it forest bathing and its said to be good for mind body and spirit.
Tower Wood is the best, picturesque, tranquil woodland trail. Great for running. Lovely wildlife including regular deer sightings.
This place is so beautiful and peaceful Ive spent many a day here, walking and exploring the place.
Lots of space, nice little walk with family through the woods, plenty to see, nice lake!
Ridiculously high speed bumps in the car park damaged my car. Dont visit unless youre in a jeep.
So peaceful and beautiful on a sunny autumn day
Great place to visit each season of the year....forever changing.Parking is voluntary Monday to Friday. You need to pay at weekends.Lovely place to walk dogs.My kids love it here as do I x
Living in the area, we are spoilt by having these beautiful woods available for a relaxing opportunity to reach our daily 10000 steps. Good for kids and dogs too. A few steps into the woods and you are immediately into your own little world - such a pleasant experience.
Beautiful, stunning sights, a lovely lake to sit by and rest- but there needs to be more signposts. Its VERY easy to get lost here. You really need to know this place very well to navigate.
Lovely place to explore the outdoors. Easy to follow trails, some of which are buggy/wheelchair accessible. Great place to take the kids with open and wooded areas. There is a cafe, information centre and well maintained toilets.
This beautiful woodland is definitely worth visiting. There are ponds and many interesting trees which are quite ancient. There are many areas which are marked well by road names also, so you cant really get lost
Beautiful and relaxing woodland, lots of trails to walk or cycle with the family. Open spaces for picnics or games. A wonderful place to spend an afternoon with the family, or take a nice easy walk
Lovely woodland which sadly has lost its anciantnpollards i remrmber from near 70 years ago. Sadly this down to pollarding stopping, and excessive weight of timber above the pollard point breaking up the old crowns.
Unable to review properly but it looked pretty from the car park. I was unable to stay as I didnt have 3 pound coins and as there is no option to pay by phone or card I sadly had to leave. Hopefully I can return more prepared at a later date.
Relaxing, well made paths and board walks (suitable for prams, wheelchairs etc). However, quite busy compared to other green spaces in the area. Maybe this is because its run by the Corporation of London, and on their website, so probably attracts quite a few people from London. Because its busy, its never truly quiet. If you dont like to hear kids shouting / screaming, look elsewhere - there are plenty of green spaces in Buckinghamshire.
Fabulous place for a walk around very clean and tidy.
Very varied woodland habitats so lots of different things to look out for. Interesting information boards on the medieval/iron age settlements, Shame the cafe was closed - did there to be a gap between contracts?
Really good place if you want a walk in nature or to walk the dogs. However it is not as accessible as it used to be. Most of the smaller car parks around the forest are not available anymore so you have to park up at the larger ones which often have a pricey parking fee. Though there are toilets onsite as well as a café which is ideal before or after a walk. Plenty to explore for a few hours on a day off. Just be careful of the roads! The roads can be quite hidden when walking dogs so keep your animals close to you or at least keep an eye on them.
A beautiful place right on my doorstep. Easy to reach by car and lots of space to explore. More family areas and another café would improve the Beeches.
Nice place for a walk.
Although it is always filled with people, I always get a sense of quiet and calm here. I think everyone goes there for that same reason. Beautiful place.
Accidental discovery turned out to be a great place for a nice walk. Lots of open space and wooded area. Definitely going back.
Great place for dogs and humans to be joyous in their existence but watch out for the snooty dog owners from the local big house community who think the place is their back garden. They will crush your happiness
Lovely woods, but blighted by arrogant Barbour wearing types, who let the dogs off running a ruining the reserve and other people’s walks. Clearly not bothered about the keep dogs on lead rule in the reserve. ‘F’ nature as long as fluffy gets a walk, to mess and chase deer and trample the the ecosystem !!
Great place to go with kids or a dog to get away from the modern world. Lots of lovely walks. very peaceful
Natural woodland with no traffic, beautiful, peaceful place to go for a walk. Cafe near the car park.
Great park. BBQ is allowed next to the car park, has a onsite cafe along with nice walks within the park. please note car parking has fees.
Great place for dog walks although they do have some restricted areas where your dog needs to be on a lead. Still great.
Great place for walks. Especially if you have a dog. Also good for running and cycling.
I Love It
Beautiful woods. nice place to spend time with kids. Has a cafe, walking trail, play ground.
Nice place to take a walk and relax on a sunday morning. Well looked after, try and get there earlier in the day to avoid the bulk of people.
Lovely day out in.a forest of Beech Trees, good walking amongst the trees, kids absolutely loved the experience, a quick trip out of London and refreshing!!
Visited last weekend. My favourite place to go for a long walk when the weather is nice! 👍
Great woodlands, nice wee café too. We had a lovely day there.
Always lovely to walk around Burnham Beaches. Not always great with a pushchair but you can still have a decent walk when you are using one.
Good place for walking the dog or just a walk perfect for riding the bike even horse riding, when your done go sit in the cafe a cuppa and the best carrot cake 😁
A great place to walk. Very tranquil
Very beautiful area defiantly suitable for families to have a walk around or simply be alone and enjoy
Fantastic lovely place
Beautifull and big natural recreational area. Free parkinglot on weekdays and a small fee on weekends. Great place to walk your four-legged friend or have a picnic with family and friends.
Nice café, good nature spot to have a walk around and clear your head and go animal spotting, it would be good to have more areas with information on the wildlife that might be seen there.
Fabulous area for walking, cycling, picnics and generally hanging out on a summer day.
They are not dog friendly. There are only certain areas where you can walk dogs off lead and if you make a mistake and accidentally stray into an area where dogs have to be onlead and your dog is mooching about free, the rangers can be quite abrupt and even rude. The signs are not always visible and there are also not enough bins available for poo bags.
Very nice place. Very good place to take dog out or to go for a walk with family.
Very nice place. It is always interesting to see the white cows in the forest.
Beautiful, used all the time by Pinewood Studios for filming though so try to dodge the cameras!
Lovely place to have a walk, but the cafe could be better if staff listen to your order
Got here tryed to get a ticket took money no ticket ...only to be told didnt have to pay week days not sign posted properly...so you had a £3 donation from me
Lovely place to walk, with wonderful old oak trees, ponds full of wildlife, and historical sites.
A nice, quiet, relaxing place to spend a sunny afternoon. Plenty of hidden walks and shady places to sit and picnic.
Good place to walk the dog or have a bite to eat or take the kids for the day
Such a great place . . . will definitely become a regular here.
Love going for walks here different things to see at different times of the year
Lovely area, lovely people and a great place for walking, running and being at peace.
Truly stunning. A lovely area for walking with the dog
Lovely place to walk around during the summer, and even the winter if you like pokemon to distract you from the cold.
Great photogenic location for woodland walks
Always fun well maintained forest
Natural beauty, peaceful and lovely place to go for a walk, run, or to walk the dog
Great place for an afternoon walk at any time of year
Lovely place for a walk
Lovely ancient woods. Great for walks, and very peaceful.
Great walk any time of the year. Lost of old trees to marvel at :)
