Visited here following an invitation to attend a 60th birthday bash, with an Indian buffet. However due to covid restrictions and plain common sense a buffet isnt currently practical. So a full blown meal was provided. Now Im not a fan of Indian food as I find most dishes to spicy, what a pleasant surprise that the mixed starter, main meal were very palettable and thus for the majority would have been excellent. All with a chocolate cake for dessert.Very recommended 👍
Have been here a number of times with my husband, and will often visit when we have guests visiting. Someone asked us what would you recommend off the menu, and the honest answer is we cant recommend a single dish as everything weve tried has been amazing. Weve never been let down.
I visited this restaurant last night. The naan breads were deeply underwhelming unfortunately. I doubt they were made fresh and if they were, something must have gone wrong on the day. The curries were a mixed bag; mine was passable but, in the interest of fairness, another member of our party did remark how tasty the chickpea side dish was. If you’re in need of a quick curry, do swing by. But if you’re looking for an authentic Indian experience, look elsewhere.
Amazing food and the service was faultless. Service with a smile
I have no idea why this place is rated good. The food was way below average. The locals might seem to like it for some reason, but as an Indian, I can say this is in no way even closer to average Indian food. The restaurant setting in itself also feels pretty conjusted, with tables too close and super low roof. Definitely a bummer in summers.
Now were talking, what afantastic meal we had here excellent service too .
Food wasnt up to standard.Poppadoms were stale and several of them were undercooked. These were sent back.Mixed starters were cold and rather greasy. Two of our mains were cold and they were also sent back. One main had a skin on the top as if it had been standing around for a while.Service was poor as well. One young lad tried his best and was very pleasant, other staff were poorly trained, and didnt seem to respond to being shouted at by the guy in charge.Skipton has a number of Indian restaurants, so the Agrah will be put to the bottom of the list.
Used it via Just eat. Standard indian meal. All good tho
The food was excellent, one of the best Indian meals I ever had. On the down side, a pint of IPA, an apple juice and a glass of merlot cost an eye watering £22.10. For that, youd at least expect solid gold goblets. Maybe I should have said something, but I had been stunned into silence.
Great selection of food and beers with very good service
First time in a while, but still great food.
Bloody Brilliant soooo tasty !
Absolutely lovely restaurant friendly staff food was amazing.
Great food, great service lovely restaurant
Very good ServiceGreat MealAll round very nice
This is my favourite restaurant. Incredible food. All the dishes are delicious and the team really look after you there. I wish I lived closer Id be there more. Got the sauces to cook it at home too.... Try the chops theyre amazing
Very quiet but the best food Ive eaten at an Aagrah restaurant.
We visited on a quiet Sunday evening so the atmosphere was a bit lacking in such a big space. The food however more than made up for the lack of atmosphere.....Great veggie choice and no issues re gluten free which can be easily avoided by the clear ingredients on downloadable menu. Great place to eat and reasonably priced too.....
It was only okay. The lamb was very dry.
Not as good as pre lockdown
The worst curry Ive had in my life staff very rude over priced small portions and it was flat cold
Fantastic, lovely food, speciality dishes were good, also has the classics, beautiful surroundings.Staff were great, attentive, but not overbearing. Great value for money.
We had a set meal for two, a great variety of food and good quality. A good dining experience 👍Covid procedures good, waiters wear masks. 🙂
Mm mm mmm
Excellent service, lovely interior and ambience, superb food and very generous portions. First time to this Aagrah and easily one of their best.
It was a nice curry .
Fantastic staff and food! Highly recommend 👌
Staff were lovely and courteous. Food wasn’t fantastic, portions sizes were small and it was overpriced. The food in the Aagrah in Shipley is much better and prices are good too. Won’t be visiting the Skipton one again.
Very rude and rushed service on a quiet night.Food was tasteless, extremely disappointed Will not be going again.
Not much flavor to the dishes
Great curry, attentive staff, small free car park where we found a space but it was early evening. I can see it would get busy. There is a large car park round the corner. The poppodoms were good but slightly more sauces, especially for 4 people would have been nicer. Will definitely go back.
Another great curry from the Aagrah chain. All served with a smile and NHS discount.
Really enjoyed the food. Staff were pleasant. But we parked in the little car park at the front of the restaurant, presumed it was for the use of customers only to get £100 parking fine for being longer than 20 mins. Shocking.
Got a takeaway here when couldn’t find a table anywhere else in town very tasty curry and food was ready for collection quicker than expected which was great as was getting late by time we’d ordered.
Absolutely Mind-blowing. Best food ever
Have been here before and it was excellent but this time not so hot. Korma was hot which wasnt expected. Kebab starter lacked flavour. Dupiaza had raw tomato in it. Waiters should be attentive not loiter like a bad smell but it was a quiet Monday. A very average dining experience.
Very nice curry at Aagrah on a Saturday night. The restaurant was busy but there were vacant tables. The service was great and the food tasty. Were went for the special vegetable mix which was fresh and tasty followed by the special vegetable Thali (four small different dishes) which was made up of two pulse based dishes and two vegetable small pots which were all lovely. It comes as a complete meal and I had a Nan Bread with mine. Couldnt fault the Aagrah.
Food was lovely. Staff looked after us. Facilities clean and presentable. Great night had by all.
The greeter seated 3 of us at a corner table and took the dishes off the table beside where my wife was sitting, rudely suggesting I should sit in the corner, where there is not enough room to get up to use the washroom or go for a smoke, without forcing the person beside you to have to move as well. I moved the plates to the spot I wanted to sit, this seemed to upset the staff person, who instead of offering water, took the water glasses off the table. This is a curry house, and people will probably want water if they choose something spicy. Horrid hospitality behaviour, but it gets worse. When the wine arrived, we asked for water, so the server had to bring back the water glasses after taking our order. I ordered the the lamb La Mas, 3 chillies on the spice guide, which is useless, because it was way hotter that it should have been. I noticed extra chilly was added to the sauce, you could tell because the ground chilly bits were still dry from the jar, and was added to the stew before serving. Not funny to do that to guests, rendering the hotness guide completely useless. While out for a smoke, the same greeter comes out of the restaurant with a kitchen bucket and throws the contents into the canal like a common street vendor might do, no regard for the business there or the waste management policies of Skipton. I would not go here again, they had the nerve to speak in a foreign language in front of guests in the dinner area as well, totally unprofessional, rude and ignorant behaviour from the staff. Waste of a nice looking restaurant run by a bunch of canal polluting clowns who treat guests like dogs.
Just visited here. Really yummy food and friendly staff. We live in Blackpool so unfortunately won’t be coming every week. Friendly staff and great price. Thankyou
Busy lively with lush food. Friendly staff and good prices. Would definitely recommend.
Took a online booking then told us that they were ignoring them when we arrived
Second visit here and yet again cant fault this restaurant. Food excellent and staff extremely obliging. Beautiful sat overlooking the canal whilst eating.
Excellent food and service, took advantage of their early bird offer.
THIS PLACE IS GREAT FOR FAMILY PARTIES. GOOD DEALS ON BIG BROOKINGS
Weve been twice in the month since weve moved here and once before that and weve had lovely food and great service each time. The portions are big - a side is plenty big enough for me rather than a main. What Ive described to people as mainstream food extremely well done. Well definitely be going back!
I really enjoyed my food at this restaurant and I would recommend this restaurant as a good location to eat Indian food. The restaurant was clean, the service was good and friendly, the portions good, and the prices reasonable - about £6 for a starter and £12 for a main course with rice and breads extra. I would be very happy to return here in the future when I am in the neighbourhood
I only go here for the food, which is mostly really good. The very poor customer service is legendary. Expect to be treated very rudely and you wont be disappointed. So poor is the service that its like a fawlty towers episode!
Brilliant pub. Great food and extremely friendly staff. Everything great here.
The food was OK but totally over charged to make up for 40% discount offer was more than we pay when we go normally!
Very nice curry, friendly staff.
The Aagrah is always excellent and has been the best restaurant in Skipton for years. Vegetarians - you wont get bored here. They have a proper vegetarian menu plus fantastic side dishes, so you wont have to order the same old token veggie dish time after time.
Excellent food great service lovely atmosphere
As with others in this chain high quality food and service. A little dated decor though.
Excellent. Always excellent.Great food, reasonable prices and good, polite service. My regular and Im hard to please.
Amazing food and A* service :)
Delicious meal, I had a very tasty soup to start. My main prawn dish was the best Ive tasted. Great service lovely, setting near the canal boats atmosphere and decor perfect. Next visit to skipton we would dine again.
Very disappointed with the customer service... and the staff attitude
Excellent food..and quick service
Excellent food excellent service
Good place. Was a bit busy and service was a little slow. But food was great
Nice place to eat, overlooking the canal in Skipton. Food generally very good, sometimes feel rushed by the staff, but still one of the best in Skipton.
Excellent Service and Amazing Food. Definitely Recommend!
Absolutely amazing place just left with my mrs only been the once for my birthday, have to say was extremely happy with it brilliant, friendly staff not in your face but there if you needed them food was best Indian food Ive ever had and been to a lot of places cant recommend highly enough will definitely visiting again!
Good service, fantastic food, reasonably priced.
Best Indian Ive had with an excellent selection of vegetarian options
Extremely good food served here, definitely would go again!!
Excellent service, very good food. I would have given 5 stars but I ordered chips and was given rice
Lovely food and great choice. Would recommend booking earlier as it gets busy
Best curry Ive had in years and the peshwari naan is excellent
Nice food little expensive compared to overs in Skipton but good food
It was nice we wanted something different than Turkey and thanks i nearly forgot my hat
Fantastic service, great staff, food is out of this world. Their vegetarian choice is second to none and the range is immense. The fish dishes are to die for.
Visited Skipton for the weekend, & decided to try this Indian, Very impressive building/ Menu, & lots of good comments in the information book that was on hand in the waiting area to read, So we were really looking forward to an Extra Special Curry & something a bit different to the norm! We were bitterly disappointed, We ordered Chicken Bhuna, & a Chicken Jalfrezi, both with extra garlic, & my partner ordered a carton of Madras sauce to spice his up, just in case it was bland as sometimes takeaways can be, if you dont already know something about the restaurant/takeaway, or their reputation. I dont know whether or not the staff were having an off day when we ordered, as both of our dishes tasted the same, & the word bland is an understatement, as was the Madras Sauce. My partner was asked how he liked it, & he said hot. I personally cant eat madras, I find it too hot, however, I tried this one & found it tasteless, no heat in it at all. Neither of us could taste garlic at all, let alone the extra we had requested. The Garlic Nan bread was also tasteless beyond words, Just a thick & chewy & plain nan bread. Incidentally we both found it strange that we could not smell the meals at all in the car, on the way back to our cottage, you usually do & thats all part of looking forward to enjoying a lovely Indian takeaway. we have made nicer Indian food at home. Wont be back !!!
Loved the food pity you have to pay for tap water
Nice food here, good service (autumn 2017). Have been there 26 years ago where I had my very first Kashmire dinner.
EXCELLENT great food and service love this place
Really accommodating staff, great food, on the higher end of the price range though
Excellent! First time here but not the last! Has the buffet upstairs and unlike every other Indian Buffet (especially Aakash!) the buffet had LOADS of meat! Lovely food cooked well! Thanks
Really great Indian restaurant. The atmosphere is very good and the curries are delicious.
Excellent food, just feeling of being rushed out.
Had a great chicken curry - chef special- and cheese naan.
Excellent food. Friendly attentive staff.
The best of the agraah chain of restaurants. Consistent quality friendly service and a nice ambience
Not bad, friendly staff, food wasnt what Im used to, but still worth a visit
Nice food and excellent service. Had a great evening.
Not the greatest but on the day it was the only option.
Great food, lovely atmosphere and great service
We are regulars here, again a fantastic meal, good service, snug and welcoming. Recommend lamb chop and fish starters
Just too hot. I dont mind spice but I like flavour with it. I had lamb which is a strong flavoured meat but could only taste spice.
Really nice, really enjoyed!
Excellent
Delicious food. Starters too large, so couldnt finish the main course.
Absolutely delicious food and wonderfully helpful in terms of vegan conversions. They list if milk products are in dishes on the menu too.
