Wonderful place and unforgettable experience. Even years after the retreat, what I learned then still gives me strength today. Be aware that 10 days are very challenging, but all the more you grow in the whole process.

It is a very calm atmosphere, and the mountain location is beautiful. My only other Vippasana center experience was in Dhamma KuΓ±ja in Washington State. This, by comparison, is much smaller. I served as kitchen staff for a kids course, so my stay was short, but I enjoyed it. One of the highlights, aside from the meditation itself, was the 7am walk to the dairy farm next door to get 10L of fresh milk. It was a joy to work with the rest of the kitchen team and it was good to work on my meditation practice.

If I dont put a star .... I cant post this comment. So I put 5 for the free training offered as well as for the support of the volunteer who works within the establishment. I have never been in this center nor even done Vipassana however in view of a certain somewhat accusatory comment, I feel the deep need (with a certain detachment all the same) to support the only free meditation center in Switzerland as well. than the method he proposes. I practice meditation on a random basis and am currently reading a book by Joe dispenza titled Becoming Super-Conscious which opens the mind in a relevant way in which he PRECISELY explains the regenerating physical reactions resulting from prolonged meditation. In addition, I met in the last two days, for the first time in my life two people who have experienced Vipassana. A young man of 27 and a lady of about 45-50 years old. Both strongly recommended that I live this experience that is deeply beneficial for myself and those around us. It is clear that the method is difficult, but who said that the path of life was easy? I am dreading this experience myself, that said, I have the firm determination to live it in Mont-Soleil in Switzerland ... or elsewhere if necessary. All good to all ... Including the author of the comment that triggered the desire to leave mine.

To flee ! You are praised by a so-called universal and secular meditation technique; Now, the first thing he asked you of when you arrived at the center is to take refuge, that is, to convert to Buddhism! Note that it is only at the end of the 10th day that we explain (lip service) that the ceremony of taking refuge is equivalent to a conversion to Buddhism ... Too bad for those who did not know it and who did not really want to be converted without their knowledge ...On the meditation technique itself: it consists, first, to focus on his breathing and then, in a second time, to focus on the body sensations experienced, while remaining equanimous. Why not ? I have nothing against the technique itself. Still, to teach, it should take 10 minutes at most. Certainly not 10 days!In fact, the (GIGANTESQUE) concern in this case is the interpretation that is made of the sensations experienced by the meditator: you are told that the free flow felt (a kind of vibration throughout the body) is proof that your brain is now so sharp that it can feel reality at a sub-atomic level ... Yes, yes, at a sub-atomic level ... No, but what nonsense! (and I use the term nonsense to stay polite.)If one can understand that 2,500 years ago the Buddha could have believed, in good faith, to have made a metaphysical experience by feeling these vibrations throughout the body, it is now simply inconceivable that people could to believe that you have experienced reality at a lower level than the atom ... simply sitting 10 hours a day concentrating on their feelings! That CERN is reassured: its LHC is one of the few tools to help apprehend the infinitely small. As for the feeling of Vipassana meditators, it is much more easily explained by a state of self-hypnosis, which is induced all the more easily as the participants are overwhelmed with fatigue and often hungry. And yes, you should know that the meditation starts at 4:30 in the morning, it ends around 9 pm and there are only 2 light meals during the day.Under these conditions, it is not surprising that the meditator, overwhelmed with fatigue, hungry and totally sore due to the prolonged sitting position, eventually falls into a state of altered consciousness that makes him feel unusual things. There is nothing mysterious about it.But above all, contrary to what Goenka and his followers are trying to make you believe, there is nothing here that resembles near or far to quantum physics. The conditions of the experiment are such that the brain switches to a modified state of consciousness. Thats all. Moreover, the sensations felt on this occasion are not specific. They are similar to those that can be experienced when taking psychedelic substances and, in such a case, it would not occur to anyone to assert that he or she has experienced that reality at a sub-standard level. atomic. In short, with Vipassana, we are clearly in a phenomenon of magic thought, charlatanism, two fingers (only one finger?) Of a sectarian phenomenon.Lets be fair, the organizing association has at least for her not to charge the internship. (This is the only reason why I put a star.) Note however that participants who have reached the end of the course are strongly encourage to donate ...In conclusion: go your way and, to paraphrase the Defekator: Let obscurantism return to darkness.
