The Central Library of AUS is equipped with a large number of books & magazines both as print and online. It caters to all the 42 Departments of the University. Students can lend books for 1 month. Computers are also available for browsing and reading.

Good collection of thesis and dissertation for reference. Security personnels at the entrance are reliable and prompt. Keep up the good work.

Another good library in Silchar. Boasts a good collection of books. Very impressive old school atmosphere. Silence is maintained and the old look is another appealing feature. Hope they use candles and no electricity. That will give it another level feel. And add more books of old origin.

A good collection of all types of books with better place for reading

It does have a good number of books, but the arrangement is so bad. And the people working in there arent very efficient in their work. Dont come from and faraway place for any material. Even if you find the book in web opac, you wont be able to search it out from the pile of disarranged books. People wont help you.

Assam University Central Library, a good number of Books of all subjects available here. A nice cool and calm environment for study. There is computer with high Internet facility available provided that you have University Internet User Id. Security is very strict and parking facilities also available. The daily newspaper along with magazines of National level also available. Overall library is good with Sufficient and well accommodated area for seating and reading purposes.

My work place. Good collection with proper arrangement in three floors i.e Back Volume periodicals and Current Periodicals and Magazines at Basement, Stack, General Reading Room, E-resource center, Circulation counter at Ground Floor and Librarians Office, Reference and Thesis Section at 1st floor. Library has fully automated system for book searching, issue and return.

A central library should opens at least 8 hours. Library and department have same working hours. So its difficult to visit library.
