Bhaswati Deb Memorial Centre for Higher Education (BDMCHE) is run and managed by the Trust named Bhaswati Deb Memorial Trust, formed in the year 2011 with the honest objective of augmenting the memory of a young scholar Dr. (Mrs.) Bhaswati Deb.The BDMCHE was ceremonially inaugurated by His Excellency, the Governor of Assam, Shri J B Patnaik, on 5h of March 2012.Based on the theme “Higher Education Ensures Brighter Carrier” BDMCHE affords high quality education with highest standards of excellence in teaching, research, creative expression and service to the community. Coordinates a network of higher education researchers and provide a forum for dialogue among the different structures, stakeholders and constituents in higher education. A non-hierarchical, flexible management style combined with modern information technology and outsourcing expertise within academia and steering committees, places BDMCHE in a unique position to respond to higher education.BDMCHE is committed to Fostering the making of scholars and highly trained practioners in the field of higher education through the provision of specialized graduate and post-graduate programs of national stature and through general programs designed to assist students from any discipline to prepare for higher studies, competitive spirit with a global vision, research & development in higher education.Keeping in mind “Modern Educational HUB”; at present, BDMCHE tied up with, amongst other, two major govt. constituted universities as authorized study Centre viz: Karnataka state open University, Mysore & Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University, Assam to facilitate students of the adjoining district & state to undertake higher education i.e. graduation and post-graduation Degrees as well as Diploma programs in distance education as well as in face-to-face mode. This supports the regions high demand for and critical shortage of professions. At present, more than 150 students are studying in different courses under the banner of BDMCHE.We think, formal education is important to society because we need to learn new skill & new courses in order to survive workforce. We believe, formal education is always has its own value & utility for nation’s development, as such, it is important to link formal and informal learning as early as possible. Considering all, we started formal education by opening a college named “BDMCHE College” from academic session 2015-16, with affiliation from Assam University, Silchar.BDMCHE added a new feather to its cap when the United Nations Reading Library & Information Center was opened in its campus on 28 May 2014 by Mr. Rajeev Chandran, National Information Officer of United Nation Information Center (India & Bhutan), New Delhi , in presence of a host of other dignitaries. This will immensely benefit those who are interested in knowing UN matters for their self content and for research purposes.
