Khidrapur was known in ancient times as Kopam or Koppad. The Kopeshwar Temple is a beautiful confluence of architecture and sculpture. This temple is still standing in the mind, witnessing how its sculpture was dated nearly one and a half thousand years ago. The separation of the village - the first sighting here upon entering the village is on a school in front of Pindi. This is the iconic image of Vishnu Dhopeshwar. Its height is a little higher than Shivlinga. Two sexes are formed in the womb. One is Kopeshwar and the other Dhopeshwar. The assembly without the Nandi - Before the Shiv Darshan, it is tradition to visit Nandi first. There is no Nandi in the temple at Kopeshwar. It has a legendary background. Sati was the youngest of the 3 daughters of butterfly daksha. She raised the shank without contradicting everyone. Shankara had no place in Dakshas mind. He did not call Shankara in the Vajpayee sacrifice offered by Daksha. Didnt even call your daughter Sati. Shankar Mani did not go but Sati insisted on going to Maheri. There is no Nandi here as Shankar sent her along with Nandi to Dakshas house. The mythical site of the sacrificial sacrifice is from Yadur to the south beyond the river Krishna. The Sati who went missing was humiliated. Along with her, her husband was also disobeyed. Because of his humiliation, Sati sacrificed in a burning fire. As soon as Shankara realized this, he called upon Virabhadra to demolish the vigilant yagya. The shankars raged on their jata land with rage. Kopeshwar is a mythical phenomenon that originated there. Heaven Mandap - Another unique aspect of the Kopeshwar temple is the structure of the heavenly temple beside the assembly. Kopeshwars paradise is best seen in the swarm mandap layout which is rare elsewhere. Outside the paradise, the elephants were originally designed out of which 4 elephants are visible today. The paradise is erected on 4 pillars with four entrances to the four main directions. There are 2 deities of 6 directions on the top of this pillar. Since the Gazpatta comes in the symmetry of the sight, the sculptures of the Gajpat are very closely carved. Elements of elephants, their ornaments, costumes, life-styles, ornaments, etc. can be seen here. During the battle between Narasimharvaman Pallava and the second Pulakeshi, Pulakeshi died. After this, in the year 8, Emperor Sreesinghdev Yadav completed the remaining work of the Kopeshwar Temple. Its inscription has been established near the south gate. There is a gap of 3 years between the construction of the temple and the renovation. We get to see the reflection of the life and cultural life of our country about 1,500 years ago through the Kopeshwar temple. Here is the head of the gazillion craft. The temple has a gazpat along the Narpat. There are sculptures of Nandi. There are sculptures of horse, sheep, warah, Capricorn, Aries, Mahishasur. There are sculptures of mango, cashew nuts, bananas, uss, grapes. Many types of flowers like lotus, curd are also found in the sculpture. There are jewelry makers in the nails. Also there are sculptures of nude young women who showcase their natural bodybuilding. Here are the idols of meditation yogis. There are sculptures of Digambar shravas. Here are the Arab travelers in the dhoop dress. All the sentiments of man are revealed here by stone sculptures. The facial expressions are finely painted in stone. There are occasions in Ramayana and Mahabharata. There are sculptures of Dashavatar.
