This is the final destination of Churdhar trek.Blue Shiva under Blue Sky covering his head with white clouds . Greenery is spread all around.Total trek distance is 36 KM. Here on top you fill found dharamshalla for stay. Also, they are running 24/7 bhandara however, it is closed because of government order during lockdown.Best place for camping.
The trek start from Nohradhar and goes upto 20-22 kms to reach the statue and the Temple. It is usually closed during winters due to heavy snowfall. The routes opens up after the fall is over.It is a moderate level trek to reach a magnificent view where you find the Lord Shiva at the height peak. The trek contains many steep climbs. You will find some temporary shops at two points during your trek. There is no need to carry too much of load as you will get all the necessary items in these shops. The temple provides a shelter and blankets to sleep and 24*7 Bhandara is serving the devotees continuously.I recommend everyone to experience this holistic trek of lord shiva. It has some beautiful sites and some magnificent views with the utmost fresh air of Shivalik ranges.
Her her mahadev. Its very beautiful place Churdhar Sanctuary is named after the Churdhar peak, which has an elevation of 3647 metres above sea level and is located in Sirmour, Shimla district of the indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Churdhar peak is the highest peak in Sirmour district and is also the highest peak in the outer Himalayas. The peak has a great religious significance for the people of Sirmour, Shimla, Chaupal and Solan of Himachal Pradesh and Dehradun of Uttrakhand. Churdhar is a holy place related with Shri Shirgul Maharaj also know as Chureshwar Maharaj, a deity widely worshipped in Sirmour and Chaupal. The major god of area is Lord Shirgul Maharaj. Many gods goes their for religious pilgrim and bath at the holy temple of lord shirgul.
Vry memorable trekking experience but no need to carry extra stuff ... Just a pair of winter wear a raincoat and food items is to b carried... Very exhausting for some people weather is also unpredictable ... Love this place easy and cheap accommodation is provided ... Food and water is also available .
Churdhar is located at the top of Shimla. This is highest peak of Shimla. Which is near to sirmour. A big statue of Bhagwan shiva is at the top of the peak. There is a temple of shiva which named as shirgul maharaj or chudeshwar Mahadev. It will remain covered with snow six months in a particular year. People love to visit here from all over north India, because the way to churadhar valley is not so difficult. Three ways to come churdhar,1. The first way leading from pulbahalWhich is the most choosen way by the trackers. Shimla to theog to balag then to pulabahal.2. It led from sraha chaupal.3. It led from nauhradhar sirmour, this is longest but easiest way to reach churdhar. This place is very cold during the whole year.So if you are planning to visit churdhar have weather proof dress or may be warm clothes.
Nice place to hang around, Highest peak of South Himachal. Awesome experience to visit. Its just 6 kms track. 4 km is normal and only 2 km track is difficult. After 4 kms you can have tea and snacks @ gujjaro ka dera and from there on 2 kms of track left upto the temple which is somewhat difficult. And if you want to visit the statue of Lord Shiva then you have to track 1/2 km more to travel but Ill suggest that if you are going on that visit then you should visit Shivas statue at the top of the peak. The view from the peak is mesmerising. Its just half an hour more journey from the temple. You can stay overnight at the temple as there is a lodging arrangement near the temple and langar is provided also. Will surely visit Again.
Trek is awesome.

Beautiful ..Shiva temple located in chudrar it is the highest valley of district sirmour ..h.p
One of the most beautiful places ive ever visited
It was one of the best place i have ever been to. the trek is long about 20 kilometres and takes all day to climb all the way up, but its worth it. the statue of lord Shiva at the peak is great. its a totem for the local Himachali people. you can stay at the top. The rates are very cheap and you will get washed blankets and all. you can have your meal in the langar. Above all that the views are great from the top.
Peace of mind place.
Below the summit is the deodar-roofed, single-storey, square temple of Srigul with a lingam, dedicated to Shiva (Chooreshwar Mahadev). Pilgrims sing and dance at night during the Navratras fair in this ancient temple.
I love this place .. best place and moderate trekk. There is also food and staying facility .
Ultimate feeling after 18 km trek all good , harry Saharan recommend me, thank you Harry darling

Very old temple and very good place .I am visiting chudhar in June .
Good for beginner and moderate trackers, 7-8 hours track with good and fit people, not much place for stay during track so start early in morning. Food and stating facility available. Avoid going on sundays to prevent from over crowd. Langar facility during summer months.

Both deities had a centuries old fight but now after 1, 500 year, both the deities are ready to end their fight and they will meet each other very soon at a joint jagaran in the region. People of two panchayats are associated with these deities. Chadhna and Devmanal panchayats are the two panchayats where people couldn’t organise fairs and festivals together due to the fight between their deities. But, now they will come together for a jagaran, local people informed. They stated that once both the deities shared a great relationship with each other which was known as shata-pasha. But due to a fight they did not talk to each other or not even met in local fairs. But now the deities have ordered the local people to stop the fight and organise a deity fair where they will meet each other. It was decided in a joint meeting of both the panchayats, where panchayat pradhan and other members of the villages were present.Shirgul Devta Temple, according to Purans is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The most famous temple of Lord Shirgul which is more than 5000 year old is the main attraction for the visitors on this hill. Bijjat Maharaj is also famous deity of the region. Both deities have a great influence among people of two panchayats Chadhna and Devmanal.
