It was a mix experience, public transport is very much convenient, wonderful stay. But after lockdown things yet not settled, like no kitchen facilities at this moment. All together the stay was stunning. The behaviour of the owners and care takers were very much cooperative.Peace, Relaxation

A very cute cottage with all facilities. Very hygienic and clean. The care taker is very responsive and provides good service. We did not order any food or beverages but they provided drinking water (not bottled). It was a lovely experience staying here

The cottage is clean. slightly away from PB but the location is peaceful. very near to the Wards lake. the owner is good. however, they really need to improve their room servicing. Each time, I had to call the caretaker multiple times to get my work done.

The amenities are a bit basic, but its absolute value for money. I struggled to sleep on my first night because of the cold, told the caretaker who gave me a heater so the second night was comfortable. The location was perfect for a morning run at Wards lake.

The stay was nice. Location was fine and convenient to reach. Food was good in taste. They also provide room services, housekeeping and all. The staff was very cooperative. Overall 3/5 for the stay.

A little hard to locate this laid back and serene cottage is a perfect stay for families and/or group of friends. The cottage has 3 rooms with a maximum capacity of 10 people. Best when booked for a single group as noise and privacy might be an issue otherwise. The staffs are hospitable. Aura cottage is an perfect homestay amidst Shillong.

This is a very cute cottage located in a prime area yet away from the hustle and bustle of the police bazaar. It has an old world charm to it. The caretakers are really helpful and showed me a quick short route to police bazaar. The toilet is squeaky clean, and they have hot water as well. If you don’t like commercial hotels and want to explore a bit of the Shillong homes, this is a good bet.

Very pleasant and quiet homestay like ambience with home made food. Excellent location beside Wards lake and Shillong botanical garden. 5 km from city center.

I  must say Aura cottage gave us great hospitality..the staffs over there are very helpful.. We had a great time. Looking forward to stay over there in future also..

Not bad for a rest place if you people are in your 20s or 30s or 40s. Its a great place for young people travelling alone . Its cheap compared to others and its also a few minutes walk from police Bazar. The house is pretty old (most probably before independence) but well mantained .The owner of the house lives in Delhi . There is a local caretaker who is not easily accessible. The food they will offer in the cottage are priced high so I will recommend to fill your belly from police Bazar, its pretty cheap there. I will post a picture of the menu card here. I dont know if they will change it but for now it remains this.

It was amazing experience...They provide you only breakfast, lunch and dinner is available on pre order, room fully made up with wood.... most interestingly value for money for people who love adventure.

Nice property located just a few metres from the famous Lady hyadri park. Its also very close to the vibrant police bazaar where you can go and fulfil your local shopping and eating desires. The property is a big bungalow with spacious beds and rooms. The caretakers are also very helpful.

Located in a remote place, very difficult to find with no sign board of the cottage anywhere we spend a lot of time going round and round and with a very steep slope the vehicle wouldn’t go till down and you are at your own carrying your heavy baggage’s up and down, certainly not a place to be if you have any senior citizens or infant traveling with you, it is basically an old cottage used for business with the owner staying somewhere in Delhi, won’t even bother to call up to find out if everything is O.K ,there is no receptionist, no staff to help with your baggage’s from the road above till the cottage up and down just one maid who stays at the back of the cottage and most of the time very difficult to get her, No WiFi, no cable connection at some rooms, geysers will be turned off at night from outside and if you want to use the bathroom at night you have no Choice but to use cold water, thin old bed sheets and flat hard pillows will be provided and the bulbs at the rooms are positioned in such a way it hits your eye as you lay down on the bed and what was really scary we found two baby mice 🐭 inside the pillows kept in the closet at the kitchen, above all there is no restaurants close by, just don’t get fooled by the pictures of the cottage from outside that’s the only thing nice about it, that’s how we got fooled too, Hotels at the police bazaar too would be at a crowded place and by the busy road side, try to choose any hotel facing the”WARD LAKE” that’s the best place to stay, or a hotel facing the “UMYONG LAKE” ...

Pathetic is just one word. The owners are simply fooling people. They have left in hands of a third class caretaker. They are always short on rations. They dont want to clean the room. I had to open the main door for other guest to come inside on their repeated ringing of door bell. The adjoining rooms can be heard upon talking and the caretaker in charge do not care. The cottage is located on a steep 80 mtrs down hill path not elderly friendly at all. When asked for parantha sabji at 7.30 am , was told it cannot be made. Asked for an extra omelette, was told the eggs are finished.Simply Pathetic

We booked 3 Rooms for 3 family includes a couple and 2 kids each. When we reach there found one room is just 2 twin bed with no toilet/ wash room which is impossible to use for a family. One Thousand Rupees already we paid as booking money. We didnt want to back it but wanted not to stay there.But the owner literally made us hostile to pay for one night room rent for all 3 Rooms. Even she bring some goons. They started to video us without permission. When we asked them to stop it one of them shout It is our country, we can do whatever we want . Need to mention we were from Bangladesh.We gave her money but didnt stay. We got another good accomodation and enjoy Shillong trip with lovely nature and people. But never cant forget the attitude of the owner.How this type of people come to serve is Hospitality industry. Its a shame.

Location of the hotel is a problem. It is at the dead end of a steep downward slope, starting from the main road so the 4-wheelers generally drop the passengers and baggage on the main road. Moreover, signage for the hotel is also not prominently displayed.Hotel is looked after by only one lady caretaker who has her own limitations. Only breakfast is served on order, other meals are brought in from outside restaurants.Rooms are decent with attached toilet/bath.

The cottage is very beautiful and situated in a very central locality and yet away from the noise of the city. The room and bathroom were very clean. Its a good place for spending a few days in Shillong.

Good place for experiencing cottage and quiet place but there is no views of mountain until you go outside the room. It is basically a home stay in cottage. Rooms are made up of wood. Floors are also made up of wood. Unique staying if you gone for tour purpose. Only problem was that the rooms are attached with owners room. You cant speak loudly and problem of your privacy.

Very basic stay. But good for a budget travel. Staff is courteous. Breakfast is bread, eggs and omlet with coffee. The location is a little inside hence go slow once you cross the park.

Beautiful homestay away from the hustle bustle of Shillongs police bazaar. It is a 5min walk from police bazaar.The people running the homestay are very nice and homely.Great place overall.

I loved it, no AC but you dont need it here as temperature here is cold already.Everything was nice and the caretaker was so sweet and helpful.

That was a nightmare experience for me. First of all the cottage has a depressing atmosphere. The bed has the worst mattress youll wake up feeling more tired than youve slept. I think they never washed the blankets. They are nasty and I had to use them and felt like fainting out of bad smell. Lastly, the bathroom tapes are broken!

It was a nice and pleasent stay in Aura Cottage. You can get an experience of traditional stay in shillong.Facilities are not much of level but enough to enjoy.

Lovely little cottage beside the Botanical Garden with kitchen amenities. Clean rooms and bathroom and a well maintained garden.Host was also helpful and friendly.

Only few rooms but access by car is round about. But by walk it takes 10to15 minutes (need to go through steps up and down) from police bazaar. This is not built using cement or block, made of wood framing hence you may feel more colder. There are 2 attenndent to help you out. Overall room was clean
