This place not very accessible or well maintained. It is as natural as nature gets, but only if you are okay with the pollution in the stream. I couldnt reach the waterfall, neither attempted to because of the polluted end of the stream where I started. But the catch here is that, if you follow the trek uphill like I did, you will enjoy a very pleasing view of the pine trees.Location: East Khasi Hills District, ShillongLocated within the Shillong Cantonment, on the outskirts of the city, lies a sparkling waterfall which looks like an eagle with wings spread. Hence the name Spread Eagle Falls. The falls is locally known as Umkaliar or the falls into which Ka Liar slipped. A soothing setting amidst the calmness of nature - a treat to the eyes.No any road is found for the wonderful place communicating is very bad for the place visitors waste time for searching the place no security and name place is availabe for the wonderful place for which visitors avoid this place8 KM distance from Shillong Town, opposite eastern air command HQ; best to visit in the month May,June,July,August,September,& October. Its pleasant environment best for family picnic.Local people here are very respectable and very welcome to all who visit here. Its also called the sweet falls.. its kinda not so famous like other places in Shillong but the view is worth it. Especially if u go early in the morning wid no one around.A must visit for any tourist travelling in the north eastern states of India. Its in Meghalaya, and what a better way to start/end your journey other than taking a picture with the beautiful waterfall in the background.A place where you can fell the majestic nature of North Eastern India. It is a beutiful and tall water fall, a place to go with your friends and family. But elder persons will face problem for going up and down by narrow stairs to see best part of the water fall. If my advice really helps you, please give it a thums up ๐๐ป
Location view wise its good but drainage is. Running in place of fresh water.

Nice spot for a hangout.

Near military engineering service at shillong
Good place ...
Please dont go behind this falls. There is no such proper pathway available to see. There are lots of other points are available to visit. So dont waste time for this..
Pretty good.
Breathtaking scenery, and serene place to hold hand of someone really special, and walk on the misty green fields.
Beautiful place. Can seat for a moment with the legs dipped into it give you amazing feeling.
This place is not open for visit due to safety reasons. Many people travel to visit this place but find it closed; its my personal experience. This place is closed by the Army. Not for visit
Nice fall
I live there... just beside it. Its completely natural but now its basically a sewage due to tremendous pollution. I go there often with my friends. But its kinda cool. :)
It was really wore a natural beauty of the earliest and poor thing it is wearing a dirty torn blanket at the latest. What a mankind?!!! Ungrateful for Gods Gift

Its a natural senic beautiful within the city and yes I love it
Itd be more appealing to look at if it wasnt indiscriminately polluted
Beautiful place ๐๐I am from Assam India ๐ฎ๐ณ
No such falls exists, There is a small Nala flowing over there with Shillong garbage

Tourist attraction place ... the view of falls mesmerising
Not much of development here, the place is definately not one to enjoy, the water is very polluted. The area is confusing as it doesnt have signs to point out the location of the falls. Its not maintain properly.
Hi mi friends
Its nice only a bit but not too much
Good picnic spots around. Nice serene locality
Good place to visit for the tourist but I suggest you hire a local guide for your tour

Not good access. Maintainance is lacking
Water pollution.. just good for hiking
Please do ask the local taxi drivers if the fall is active or not. I planned to visit there in the month of feb, i was told of its inactivity. Please do confirm before going.
A very natural n simple view can be seen from here.... but not much..
A beautiful water fall. Due to the number of accudental deaths, entry to the fall is blocked
This place is awesome
This fall suppose to be a good tourist spot but government ignored it and now it is a drainage for Umpling, Rynjah, Lapalang. Its sad to see the death of a fall.

The place is dirty... It stinks
It is impossible to get to, even the locals arent aware of the place and the ones who do strongly feel it is not safe for tourists
The area seemed to be fenced in when we visited. Couldnt find a way to access the falls
Government need to take care of surroundings.
Good place to visit
I cant go there just because the place was closed..

Not clean. Dirt all around.
Beautiful tourist spot ..
This is a drainage water system.Do not go, and it smells too.

Google does not show the path to reach this falls. I could only hear the sound but there was a fencing and bushes and no way to reach. Enquired the local person, he said it is no longer accessible
Need more improvement in cleanliness
