My favourite monatery / temple in Tibet.
Wonderful full place
Baiju Temple, called Bangkor Qude in Tibetan, means auspicious wheel and Dale Temple. It is located in Gyangze County, Xigaze, Tibet. It is surrounded by mountains to the south, north and east. The temple faces water on all sides and is about 230 kilometers away from Lhasa. About 100 kilometers away from Shigatse and 3900 meters above sea level, it is a monastery where the Sakya, Shalu, and Gelug sects of Tibetan Buddhism coexist. There are temples, there are towers in the temples, and the temple towers are naturally formed and complement each other. The Baiju Pagoda is also known as the Hundred Thousands of Knowledge and Emancipation Pagoda. The tower has nine floors. The lower five floors are in Indian style, and the upper four floors are in Nepalese style. Nearly a hundred Buddhist halls in the tower are built one after another, which is unique in the history of Chinese architecture.
Visited in 2017. There is a lot of information about the monastery. I will not repeat myself. The place is wonderful. Here is the tallest stupa in Tibet. The upper levels of the stupa offer a beautiful view of the city and its surroundings. Multicolor . There are always many tourists and pilgrims.
Palcho Monastery or Pelkor Chode Monastery or Shekar Gyantse is the main monastery in the Nyangchu River valley in Gyantse, Gyantse County, Shigatse Province, Tibet, China.Kumbum is also known as the Temple of Ten Thousand Buddhas - the great three-dimensional mandala - belonging to Gyantse - the Tibetan plateau - next to Palkhor. The temple is located at an altitude of 4,032m, in the valley of the Nyang Chu River. This temple was built in 1436 with 9 floors, 108 doors, 77 shrines. The entire temple has about 100,000 images of Buddha, Bodhisattva, and Dharma protector, so it is named Temple of ten thousand Buddhas. The temple is a monument commemorating the birthplace of Grand Master Tsongkhapa, a Buddhist reformer. The great lord of Tibet and also the Chief of the Yellow Hat (Gelupa) sect, which was ruled by the Dalai Lamas in Tibet before becoming an autonomous region of China, the temple was originally built to protect the sacred Bodhi tree that grows right where Tsong-kha-pa was born. According to legend, this tree is so sacred that on each leaf the mantra OM MANI PADME HUM appears on each leaf. a fact, but it is difficult to accept for the dualistic conception and scientific pragmatic spirit of the West.
You can learn about three different schools of Tibetan Buddhism, but it takes a little more time. This time, it is a pity that you cannot get 100,000 stupas!
Great cultural religious experience!Have the opportunity to look at Buddhist festival exhibition
