Went there for brunch and did not have to wait long to get a table of 3 on their outdoor patio at the back of the restaurant. We had their cinnamon bun which was delicious. We tried their forager scramble, rancho Colorado scramble and frittata. All dishes were very good and filling. They brought a nice spicy sauce together with the ketchup. Seems like their cheesy grits are very popular and they were nice and creamy and cheesy. Service was friendly and fast. I tried their mulled maple and brown sugar latte which was good but did not really feel the taste of maple. A nice experience!
I get to know Cafe Flora because I love their Flora Bakeshop in Beacon Hill. I came with friends for lunch and we were promptly seated in the make·shift outdoor dining area that was their parking lot. Appreciate that they are giving ample space between tables.Great atmosphere and decor. Food and service were good, not amazing so. I enjoyed my frittata, although its portion was on the smaller side.
This is my 3rd time visiting Seattle and somehow missed this gem on previous visits. We are vegan and definitely recommend coming here. We ordered the yam fries and cinnamon roll as apps along with the new Midsommar Shandy and the Rosemary Lemon Drop. Both were great drinks but the shandy was very special and delicious. The Cardamom Rose Latte was the most unique and delicious coffee drink Ive ever had.The Rhubarb Ginger waffle was delicious and the Colorado scramble was decent. Also the host and wait staff were friendly and attentive. It seems they replaced or trained the rude hostess other reviews mentioned.
Ive never had a cinnamon roll this good, let alone a vegan one! The tofu scramble and potatoes were also tasty, but I would definitely go back for the cinnamon rolls. This is a pricy spot but you get what you pay for, which is large portions and quality food. The staff were also friendly and attentive. The whole place is cute and cozy as well, with Seattle mementos for sale near the register. Great location near the Arboretum for a post-meal stroll.
Cute little brunch spot in the city. Absolutely love the ambience and the vibe here. The cinnamon rolls here are definitely one of the best Ive ever eaten. However the avocado toast is a tad bit hard and not the very best. They have vegan options for almost everything. The rose cardamom oat milk latte deserves a special mention. A must visit spot whenever youre around.
Loved loved the food!! Risotto was the best, followed by the awesome polenta. Kids loved the taco. Sweet potato fries were delish. Cheese platter was fantastic (loved the caramelized onions!!). Beet salad was on the savory side. I think I was expecting it to be a bit more on the sweet side. Staff was really nice and the place is great. I’d go here again for sure!!
Im never not happy after a visit to Cafe Flora, but the service was lacking a bit this last visit. My friend got the nettle pesto and was very disappointed. The tacos were to die for, however, so flavorful and the perfect portion. And I know from experience you cant go wrong with the portobello dip, one of my favorite foods to get in Seattle.
The Tacos Durados are a Cafe Flora classic, along with the Rosemary Lemonade. I tried the Panzenella Salad (gluten free) and found the dressing to be a delightful surprise -- Fresh and herbaceous with just enough sweetness.Ive been dining here for over a decade (maybe longer) and it never disappoints. This is the place I take out of town guests for a veg*n or gluten free meal in a beautiful setting with excellent service. Be smarter than me and leave room for dessert!
I found Cafe Flora on HappyCow, which is an app that helps vegans and vegetarians find restaurant options in their area. Im glad to say that this place definitely didnt disappoint. As a vegan it can be super difficult to find good restaurant options so every time I find one I feel like Ive struck gold. Even though this place isnt entirely vegan, there are enough options that itll make most vegans very happy. I ordered the Saffron and Lobster Mushroom Risotto and the Madison cocktail. The Risotto consisted of arborio rice, saffron, and lobster mushrooms among other ingredients. It didnt taste overly indulgent or heavily sweet or savory, rather it just had a very complimentary combination of flavors and a great texture which didnt warrant extra sugar or salt. I love it when menu items dont taste overly greasy or rich and they have a cleaner vibe about them. The Risotto was accompanied with a minimalist Arugula salad with a great lemon vinaigrette. So simple, yet clean. Good dishes dont need a million ingredients, just a handful of quality ones. The Madison cocktail seemed like a modified Manhattan, using an earl grey infused vermouth rather than a traditional Italian vermouth in a Manhattan. Honestly, Im not super educated with my liquors so I cannot speak too much to the complexity of the cocktail, but I can tell you that I really enjoyed it.Ill definitely be coming back.
What a captivating open natural feel as soon as you walk in the door. The menu had a healthy selection of food choices for everyone including a kids menu! Definitely a cool laid paid atmosphere with great seating arrangements. The food and staff were awesome! Highest compliments to the front of the house for doing all of the organizing the guests.
Great service in a beautiful space with an amazing menu. You can pick anything here and its gonna be delicious, cant go wrong. Im not vegetarian and when my friend suggested this place, I worried for a moment that the menu might be limited or boring. Boy was I wrong. Gotta go back and try more!
I visited in person and liked the service, even though some of the dishes like the grain bowl had a high salt content. But a week or two later when I called the restaurant to place a pick up order, the staff were quite rude. It was hard to find the menu online since there were random screenshots uploaded to google and the website wasn’t easy to navigate. When I requested they suggest a few vegan options over the phone, they said,”oh we can’t read the entire menu out to you, just find it online,” and I said repeatedly I am not able to find the right menu online, if you could just suggest a few options for lunch that would be great. And that’s when they hung up. When I called back, someone else answered and had the same attitude as the first person I spoke to. She spoke really fast and read out a list of sandwiches, when I know they have lunch items other than sandwiches. When I asked, do you have items apart from sandwiches, she condescendingly said,”I just told them to you”, which is when I requested to talk to the manager. The manager was pretty much the same, said they’re really busy and don’t have time to talk to folks over the phone. Don’t place pick up orders at this restaurant if you want to be talked to rudely and condescendingly.
We love going here for our “fancy” sit down family dinners. There is great ambiance here and sans pandemic, it was the kind of place we would love to go when we had time for cocktails, appetizers, dinner and dessert. Very comfortable.I mostly enjoy their brunch menu, and 9/10 times, I order the Southern Platter with Tofu. The tofu scramble is divine.Recently I have learned to take a pass on the avocado toast. The bread is way to thick and I personally don’t enjoy the flavor combo. It is one of the places where you feel at times you are getting a steal and other times can’t justify the cost of what you just ate. I tend to stick with the 3 or 4 things that have consistently been good, and haven’t ventured very far off the beaten path.
This is an amazing place for vegetarians/vegans. Though menu is small but their food tastes good. The ambiance is also nice and good service makes this place worth going again!Must try: Cinnamon roll
Love going here with the girls to catch up over a healthy brunch and fancy mimosas!
Never visit this place as a single person (I am married but came here alone on a business trip). They treated me like an alien. They forced me to sit in a busy corner. Sorry, to say that, but I felt really uncomfortable. It also took a long time to being served this boring buckwheat pancake.I had the impression that only locals and familys are welcomed over here.
Must visit place for vegans and vegetarians especially for brunch. We have been couple of times and it was very good on both occasions. The food was very delicious. The place is pet friendly .They have very good covid protocol to make sure that there is less exposure. Tables are set at a safe distance. This place is often crowded, you have to wait atleast 20 mins to get a table if you visit during peak hours.
The most amazing vegetarian food Ive had. Im not vegetarian but dont feel like I have given up anything here. The shitake french dip was better than any french dip Ive had in years. The yam fries were beyond delicious. Their drinks are amazing. Cafe Flora is something special. Dont miss it.
From coffee to cocktails, breakfast to dinner, always so creative and well put together. Yummmm.
This was literally the worse brunch I’ve had in Seattle. The Tofu was hard, overcooked and over seasoned. The same with the greens, overpowered by some weird garlic flavor. Roasted potatoes were dry and cold. And the pancakes were gummy and chewy. Definitely would not recommend. Super expensive as well wish I could give negative stars
The menu was a great selection of comfort and fresh foods. I had the cardamom and rose oat latte and the heirloom scramble both of which were delicious
Really excellent sweet potato fries. Avocado toast was very good. Good outdoor seating.
Oh my god. This was the best vegan breakfast I’ve ever had in my life. Beautiful ambiance and great service as well. Do yourself a favor and go eat here now!
I’m getting hungry just posting this picture. And I just had dinner. Was there earlier and today & thankfully beat the rush (around noon), so was seated immediately. I think the pay and seat option is efficient for people getting in and out despite it being a more sit-down place. Definitely unique choices, from their sweet & savory options, to their drinks. I was so pleasantly surprised with their tofu scramble. It was my first time having a tofu scramble... so I didn’t know what to expect, but man, that flavor 😗🤏🏼 (closest thing to chef’s kiss)To all my vegans out there... you’ll have plenty of options despite it being a veg place.I miss brunch already 😢
Food is very good, but a little pricey.
I’ve never been pre-charged for dine in before. Is this normal for this particular establishment? I don’t like prepaying before actually dining because you include the tip, which the lowest preset amount is 18% as opposed to 15%. You could select “other”, but you always hope for good service, but I digress.I was not checked up on or asked how my meal was. I would have liked to order dessert, but no one asked or followed up. I also would have liked a to good container. A yellow flag should have been when my server brought me two empty glasses and not water. We all have spacey moments or bad days, but if that’s the case could you tell your partner, so that s/he could cover your lapses? Also, would this even be an issue if you didn’t have to prepay? What incentive is there for someone to do well if you have to prepay for the tip? After waiting for a while I just decided to flag down someone. The food was okay. I like ketchup for my fries and when I requested it, I was given cold ketchup, which I understand. It was in one of those plastic 2 or 4 ounce condiment containers. Things like this and not being checked on is not 18% tip worthy service, in my humble opinion, but they already took the money.I had the French dip - 4 stars. All the above mentioned just overshadowed the food though.
I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed my fav spot in Seattle yet. This is my go to spot for Brunch, Dinner, Drinks, Desserts, you get the idea. Lovely staff, amazing food, creative and seasonal menus make the experience extra special. Love their waffles, burger ( dinner), golden milk, kombucha and more :)
Their burger is delicious and comes with a generous quantity of delicious fries!
Theres always await because the place has such a great reputation. Each time Ive eaten there, its fine but nothing special. Avacodo toast is on bread thats too thick and tough to eat. The pickled beets dont have much Pop. The cocktails are fantastic.
Very tasteful options and great staff. Selection is limited but everything is prepared with good ingredients. Food is full of freshness and taste.Their parking is super tiny and street parking is mostly full. We parked in the paid parking which was cheap, like $2.79 for 2 hours. They have coffee for free and ample seating area.
Absolutely delicious vegetarian and vegan-friendly nosh. Attentive wait staff, outdoor seating available. Definitely worth repeat visits.
Delicious vegetarian restaurant (with many vegan options too), quick service, beautiful quirky decor and nicely spaced out tables both indoor and in the outdoor tent.
Wonderful food, pleasant and relaxed ambience inside the atrium. Loved it. Will visit again. Go early right when they open to avoid waiting in line.We tried mocha, golden milk (indian turmeric milk), avocado toast, Italian burger with yam fries, and cinnamon roll. All were tasty.
When you first arrive to Cafe Flora you will notice all the open space and serene decor. It feels very nice. I was happily surprised to see on the menu block the restaurants goals. It gave a personal touch which was appreciated. The staff were pleasant and welcoming just as their goals outline. The yam fries were my favorite from the east coast all the way to the west coast. The rest of the meal was splendid. It was well portioned, displayed and just tasted amazing. Highly recommend.
Im not sure I have the words to describe how great my meal was here. The attention to detail and subtlety in the flavors set Cafe Flora apart from most restaurants Ive been to. This, combined with the rustic-chic decor, made for an incredible dining experience. My girlfriend and I split a pizza and a burger with yam fries. The pizza and burger had so many wonderful flavors that were new to my palate. And the fries are downright addictive. The portions were good and the food was filling, but we couldnt resist topping our meal off with some coconut cake. Im not even a huge fan of coconut, but I was blown away by how delicious it was.I may move to Seattle just to eat here more often...
Wonderful space, and the food was amazing! Its tough to find great vegetarian breakfast, in so glad to have found this place!
Yam fries and french dip with mushrooms instead of meat ..delish! Ate in the atrium, windows open, lovely cascading sounds of center room fountain and gently placed plants dotted everywhere in addition to great service...Ill be back!
Today is Mother’s Day and my daughter decided to treat me for a fabulous dinner at Cafe Flora.Food is always great but the rudeness of staff is sometimes that will prevent me from going back.First we ordered our food upon walking in , paid for it and included gratuity.Afterwards we wanted to order a desert. Nobody from the wait staff would even look in our direction. I did go to the front and one of the waiters took my order. I had to go back to my table to find out for him the number. He wouldn’t do it himself and was very brash and borderline unpleasant when I asked him for containers for our leftovers. We never got our dessert brought to the table. We went to the front and ask a very unpleasant person who first ordered us to move out of her way before asking us what we could possibly want from her.For almost $100 I could have better experience in any other fast food place. Please bring back the kindness you once had.
Waited at 5 am for them to open, they let me and a group of people waiting to get coffee stand there, and after 10 minutes say ohh, we dont open until 530 today. Its fine to be late but we couldve been communicated with and gone elsewhere.
Delicious vegetarian fare in a quaint area of Seattle. They have many special drinks that all taste great, and their food quality is scrumptious!
I have been coming to this restaurant for years. I discovered it while I was attending Seattle University. I started there in 1992, so I imagine that’s probably around the time that I stumbled upon this phenomenal restaurant.I don’t live all that close by, so I’ve probably only been a half a dozen times over the years, but after brunch today, I realized just how delightful this place is. Fantastic food and splendid service.
Must visit if you want to have soul-satisfying, creative vegetarian food. Whole menu is vegetarian with mix of different dishes such as Pizza, Burgers, Soup etc. They also have some vegan options. Place itself is very pretty with Fresh Flowers and Plants of all sizes around you. Service is equally good.
Visited for brunch on Sunday. We ordered brunch platters and coffee. Our eggs were not seasoned enough and the coffees were a little too sweet. Would recommend that you serve Salt + Pepper with the food, as it gets difficult to get the servers attention with covid protocols around. Excellent Twitter feed that informed us about the outdoor seating available. I also found the garlicky greens tooo garlicky - very overpowering and I barely ate it. Rosemary biscuits were a little too dense. But the overall platter would have benefitted from seasoning.
I was so excited for the Southern Platter but it’s not available during the week, tried to order take out on the weekend but it’s dine in only. I completely understand and hope you can do take out again, but I’m glad you’re busy and surviving during the pandemic.
My go-to brunch weekend spot in general, and especially when I have friends in town. We then walk to the nursery down the street for a lovely morning.
No words can perfectly capture how good this vegetarian brunch was. They were slammed with customers and the staff were zooming around like busy bees but still took the time to check in with me a couple times about my order. The food was perfect. I haven’t had food this good in awhile, keep in mind we got take out and ate in the car. The southern plate had such great combination of flavors. Can’t wait to go back.
Great space, friendly service, great veggie options. The food was good but the ambiance was fantastic! I had the Panzanella salad which was ok- veggies were a little wilted- but the focaccia fantastic (it wasn’t really a traditional panzanella just a salad with dressing soaked bread). My partner had the French dip & yam fries and loved it! A great spot to meet up with friends. We definitely would return to try other dishes if we were staying in the area longer.
First experience here was fantastic! Ive been eating veagan for only a month with my bride. The Italian Burger was delicious, adding avocado was perfect, as usual! Very flavorful! The bun looked large but was so soft it was easy to take a good bite. I dont like sweet potatoes but the yam fries had an amazing seasoning and the aioli sauce that you dip it in was delish. My wife had the saffron Lobster mushroom risotto, and she loved it! We had the avocado toast which was on triangular baguettes with some shredded beets which gave it an extra good flavor... Good, light, flavorful starter. I ordered two of the homemade sodas; the Honeydew shiso shrub was a light fresh non-alcoholic alternative to soda, and the Cherry five spice fizz has a cinnamon flavor, kind of like a cold cider or a spicy wine (minus the alcohol). For my wifes birthday dessert we had the (vegan) coconut cake. How did you make this so deliciously moist!? The service was excellent from the host/hostess counter to the server who was very open to giving wicked good suggestions. Thank you for her birthday candle as well. Nice touch. We will return for breakfast next time. Bless you!
Relaxed and pleasant vibe...service was good it the food wasnt food. Cinnamon roll was overcooked and dry, eggs tasted like the came from a carton, coffee tasted was overroasted...almost burned. Cheesy grits were blended with a touch of heat, vegan biscuits and gravy were flavorful, tofu was under seasoned but the fruit was very fresh!
GREAT FOOD! GOOD SERVICE. VERY BUSY THE DAY I VISITED.
Let’s make it simple: their vegan breakfast is amazing! Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I’ll be coming here for breakfast every time I visit Seattle!
The food was great. Limited selection of vegetarian and vegan items for brunch. Wait times on weekends could be ridiculously long. We waited for 1.5 hours to get a table. Parking is hard to find around the restaurant. It’s only street parking. No accessible entrance.
Italian burger was gross. U see all the beans that was made in to a burger falling apart before u bite it. Glasses were not clean. Me and my best friend did not enjoy the time we visited the restaurant.
Cafe Flora is definitely the top of my favorite places to go for local sustainable organic vegetarian food that also has vegan options and gluten-free options! the staff is absolutely delightful and the food is just incredible!!! Im a huge fan of the ambiance and the plant babies that live everywhere 🍀🌱🌿
Such a lovely place. Great food, excellent service, wonderful atmosphere. We go here every Thanksgiving (these photos are from our most recent) and have never began disappointed.
I would give this place more than 10 stars if I could. Finally a restaurant that knows how to cook vegetarian food well.Went here on a trip to Seattle and ended up eating here on two consecutive days. I preferred the brunch menu to the dinner. The tofu scramble, and Italian sandwich (at least I think that’s what it was) with the consume was also really good.
Lively vegetarian and vegan friendly spot with a great ambiance (plants, open space with tons of natural light, a waterfall), delicious food and cocktails. Came here for brunch when visiting Seattle and it was one of the best spots I went to. Ordered the Cinnamon roll, the Southern Breakfast plate, and the Huevos Rancheros. Food was excellent, staff was super friendly, and they give you Stumptown coffee while you wait for your table.
This was a fantastic experience! The Ginger Rhubard waffle was absolutely incredible, and the atmosphere and staff were a delight. Will be back!
Went here for the first time. The place is large and clean. I’m not a vegetarian nor a fan of vegetarian food. The hot chocolate was amazing and sadly the pizza was sold out that day along with yam fries which I was looking forward to trying. The burger and pasta was okay as it wasn’t anything I tried before. The dessert was pretty good, my favorite was fudge brownie dish. We did come 1 hour before closing. The was street parking in the back and a 6 car parking lot to the side that was full.
Awesome Vegan Mushroom French Dip and the Nectarine Blueberry Brumble was so fresh
Delicious food with vegan and gluten-free options. Cozy atmosphere.🌿(Hour wait on a Sunday.)
Good food... delicious desserts....would definitely go back again!!
Pure delight. They engraved their goals on the menu but also in the soul of the place. You can feel it.
Great food, interesting menu!!! Will come again for sure!!!
This food is fantastic. My Seattle family just lives this place. I am not a vegan. However, this food was really good. I honestly enjoyed it. The friendly, family setting, the nice staff and the great service put this place on my to do list for future visits.
Beautiful setting - inside by the bar. Cute plants... felt like we were in a green house. Food was OK, but VERY FRESH! Seems like they seat a lot of people. I had a peach and arugula salad that was so so... needed a bit more citrus? not sure ... vegi burger and fries were good! tofu quina bowl was a bit boring but tastey. I would go back for the fact that they have been up and running for years! a local favorite and a good destination dining adventure! JLC
Yummy everything 😋
