Food is AMAZING!!!!! best pepper shrimp around and the fried chicken with fried rice is sooo delicious too 😋 doesnt look like much on the outside of the restaurant but its whats on the inside that matters

We just by chance got an opportunity to try the food from here from a lady who bought some and brought it to the school my wife and her works at for the staff and she tried the different dishes and feel in love with the taste. Coming to find out it was from Windies. When she left work that day she got some on her way home for us and weve been hooked ever since. Weve been back at least five to six times. I love the fried rice specials that comes with the fried chicken on top. Spring rolls are killer. The chicken is so good weve ordered that by itself. Really awesome food, generous portions and good service. At times they can be very busy during the week but thats expected with the quality of food they make. Keep up the good work.

I stopped in today for the first time in 5 years. I was very pleased with the customer service, as well, the food was 5 star. The cut up chicken was crispy and fresh and the oxtail was a delight!!!!!! Great meal!!!

{Visited - Thursday, Feb 23/17 at 7:30PM}First time at Windies upon recommendation from my friend. Also my first time going a West Indian Restaurant.Rather than choosing something from the menu we both had the Windies Special - Beef. Chicken. Shrimp. and Fried Chicken on top of Rice. For $11.00 the portion was more than worth it!Apparently the chicken wings are really good so I have to come back and try those :POverall good experience :)

The food is made fresh and is delicious. It usually takes them 30 min to prepare, so plan accordingly for a to go order. It is worth the wait. Ginger beef and chili chicken (wet style) with rice and beans is recommended.

The atmosphere is quite pleasant and the staff are all sweet and nice to talk to. The layout of the building is very interesting and it can be a spot for any event.

On July 29/21 An order was placed for pick up for a lunch special at 1:40pm (Windies $6.99+ lunch special from 11 - 2pm) the waitress who took the order told me it was $8.00 for the lunch special, I asked her if the lunch special price was raised, she told me yes and the order will be ready for pickup in 20-25 min. When I reached at 2:34pm to pick up my order, the waitress told me the price was now $12.00+ because I came almost an hour after placing order.. is this a JOKE people.. it certainly was not! I have been ordering from Windies for many years and to be told to pay more because of the time I came to pick up really upset me.The waitress made no attempt to cooperate with me and kept saying to speak to management. I am very disappointed for the service I got today and because I was hungry I still paid the $12.00 for a lunch special that was placed before 2.00pm. DISAPPOINTED!!!

Always nice to get windies special

On Sunday March 18th I called windies and placed an order for pick up. The waitress took my order then told me it would be ready in 15-20 min. She also added that they are only accepting cash at the moment which I said was fine and then ended the call.My friend went to pick up the food and at 9:50pm I received 4 missed calls from windies. I called back at 9:52 confused. I called a couple of times concerned and finally when someone answered they immediately hung up on me.Around the same time my friend who went to go pick up the food arrived home. My friend told me that the waitress was extremely RUDE, claiming that she told me over the phone that they closed at 9:30 (even though the site says 10) and this was not the case or else I would have been there on time. The waitress also heard me calling while my friend was there but was rude about it and refused to pick up like I spitefully showed up late on purpose to pick up my order.I don’t know what kind of people windies is hiring to represent their establishment but the women was out of line. She literally picked up my phone call and then hung up. DISGUSTING AND UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOUR on her behalf. So petty. If it was me picking up the food I would have honestly cancelled the order and left. I will never be buying food from windies again!

The food was very delicious. I really enjoyed it. The service was a bit slow but friendly. Just a tip, if a person says theyre done and gets the rest of the food in a to-go container it means you should really bring the bill. I waited so long that I literally stood up to ask at the bar and then she finally came back. Anyhow it would have gotten 5 stars if it wasnt for this. Otherwise it seems like a good place to also enjoy drinks and fun events. I saw they had karaoke once a week too so thats very cool. So just improve on the speed of service and then it will be great!

Poor customer service, they had add an item advertised and the manager refused to honor the advertisement.Im pretty sure that is classified as false advertising, and any other restaurant that has or would do that would honor the advertisement.I feel as though there was no consideration for the consumer in this position from the manager I spoke to. As well as no remorse when informing her that a review would be left.

It is a great place to dance and have some drinks because of its genuine Caribbean feel and the selection of Caribbean music that is played especially on the weekends. A definite must try spot in Scarborough for everyone

Amazing place!

3 star rating is based on our server that night. She seemed distracted and completely clueless at times. Brought insufficiant drinks even though she was writing the orders down. We came for a birthday and she just brought the cake inside the box and plopped it on the table, no plates and nothing to light the candles. (So much for the element of surprise for the birthday person.) Unlike other places you go they bring it out for u candles lit and all, this I found surprising.At the end of the night she brought the bill and 5 mints knowing there were 9 people at the table.She just seemed so disinterested the entire night.Other than this particular waitress, Windies is an awesome places for dinner, drinks or celebrations. Good food and atmosphere!

Nice atmosphere to hang out both for Caribbean folks and those who want a taste of the Caribbean culture. Staff was courteous as well. Food was great but had to take a star off for the oxtail. Not sure if it was just the chef that nighr, but that wasnt it chief.

Food and service is always good. If going for atmosphere or aesthetics then it wont meet expectations but food makes up for that

Great place. The food is amazing here especially the wings. Love the Chinese and Guyanese fusion.What I didnt like was that I ordered something (.. two seperate items)and I was told they dont have it. I understand restaurants run out of things but its too common in West Indian places.And also, please get a better DJ. He played songs he and his friends liked. Several times he put on songs which would clear the dancefloor but he ignored the fact. Some advice: If you deejaying know the audience. !!!Will definitely be returning for some of that delicious food!

Good food and great prices

Food is great but the new Manager Wayne customer service skills are very poor. I purchased a Strawberry Daiquiri which was extremely sweet from other Daiquiri I had at previous establishments so I asked for the drink to be change for another drink I taste that was not so sweet. Manager told me if they make a different drink I will have to pay for a Daiquiri drink I didnt drink. Awful!

Their food is consistent. Everytime I go, its always tasty. Try the fried rice, wings, pepper shrimp... Service is hit or miss. Owner at bar could be more welcomimg. The doormen are more friendly.

5 stars for the food. Ive never dined in so cant comment on waitress/waiter service. It does get busy on weekends and holidays. If they say pick up your order in an hour then go in 2 hours or stand there and wait another hour. That was my last experience. Otherwise a great local joint to bring a better half or to hang out for drinks. Updated: Dined in recently - service was slow on a day when it wasnt busy but waitress and staff in general were pleasant.

Celebrated my birthday party with about 20 family members. We couldnt stop raving about how amazing the food was. from the wings/fried chicken, to fried rice to chicken lo mein to pepper shrimp - we werent disappointed. Teri, our server was excellent and handled our party with smiles and patience. DJ played a very good mix. Keep up the good work, cleanliness and great customer service. Well definitely be back!

Foods good but you can be treated horribly. On two occasions, I was ignored over and over. The first time I tried to overlooked it but going back again it was a definite.

The service is good...food taste depends on who is the cook. Some times taste great and at times you wish u never went there.

I like the variety of food selections they offer. The food is good and reasonably priced they also have daily lunch specials, birthday parties and a DJ who plays a great selection of music you can also make requests. They also have a well stocked bar.

I worked here years ago. The cook is the best, the best west Indian and Chinese food Ive ever had.Friendly people. Great food. Good prices considering the large amount of food you get for your dollar.If you havent tried windies, you should.

The food was amazing. A young lady with extension braids was very attentive and helpful. I went after 10 pm , the music and atmosphere.

My only concern is I dont believe they should automatically add a 15% gratuity to the bill.. people should be able to decide their own tip based on service... and they automatically add it and then if youre paying debit the first screen asks for a tip again so if you dont see it added to your bill you end up paying a double tip!!!

Just left... we use to love this place but it’s really down hill! We were served unbreaded pepper shrimp that were lightly dusted in flour after they were cooked! Absolutely disgusting!!!! The pepper sauce was water! We will not be returning here! Pethedic food quality!!!
