As the other location in Brampton the food was good. As usual the high price for South Indian food. Service need to improve as we experienced few mistakes from the staff. But overall good experience.

Went in for a late night dinner and found that they were serving non veg meals. Having a large appetite that night, we decided to try it out along with Crab soup and some chicken 65. The crab soup was hot and tasty. The chicken 65 was a smaller amount but made well. The non veg meals all about 6 to 7 kattoris and served with a bowl of rice and chapatti. We were pleasantly surprised at how fresh and tasty it was for a meal at 10pm. If you are a hungry bachelor, go for the meal Thali. It will surely bring your hunger and anger down, haha! The restaurant closed at 11pm and yet they were kind enough to let us spend more time there. Friend staff and quick service. My only negative comment was that the dishes were coming out of order (got chicken 65 before soup) and unevenly - so if you are a large group, some people may get their order first while it may take time for others. But hey, thats just a very specific gripe and its okay to wait a little after all the dishes are budget and saves you a buck! Must try Indian restaurant and a definite recommendation!

Very nice people. The only thing I personally dont like about this restaurant is its location. You cant go East when exiting the parking lot. You have to go West about half a km to go back East.

I wanted to have a celebratory dinner and as usual Anjappar Chettinad Restaurant was the best place to do it. I was treated like royalty from the minute I stepped into the door. This is a great place to get authentic south Indian food. They always keep the place very clean, and the staffs are very welcoming and friendly too. They also offer very fast service as the phone orders only takes around 25 min to prepare.

Love your food. Have been ordering for a long time. Any special instructions are followed. Never been to the restaurant in person but my experience says these people would want to serve quality food.

We came with a group of 16 people on a Friday night and only an hour heads up to the restaurant. That being said, the customer service was nothing like I’d seen before! To serve and meet the needs of 16 people is very challenging but the owner? manager? who took care of us, knew exactly what he was doing! Our food all came out at the same time, still hot, and cooked perfectly. All 16 of us left really full and happy! Thank you!!

Had dosa delivered through Ubereats, it was packaged really well, no leakage. Have had dosa in every GTA restaurant you can think of, and the sambar in this place is one of the best, if not the best! It was rich, with lots of vegetables, was not watery (like other places). We tried masala, paper (plain), ghee dosas (all were great). All were great.The coconut and tomato chutney were amazing, it was fresh. Great sambar quantity, which is rare. They are always consistent with taste and quality. Only thing I would suggest is, do not order the paper dosa for take out, it will get soggy and thats not the restaurants fault. Enjoy it in person instead.

We are regulars at Anjappar Chettinad Scarborough!! The amazing food by chef Lama keeps us coming back - we love the South Indian and Indian Chinese here. Mr. Vijay and Satish ensure excellent service at all times. Highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you love Indian food. Lastly, don’t miss their South Indian filter coffee :)

Excellent service. Vijay the manager was fantastic at taking care of our needs. We had friends who did not eat spicy food and Vijay recommended the correct dishes made sure they were cooked correctly. Great dinner! Will revisit.

It was a wonderful experience. Very authentic south Indian food is available here. I have tasted mutton briyani, crab soup, Pawan pepper fry, egg kothu paratha and ghee roast(footlong😂).Reasonable price. But have to travel all the way from downtown 😕. But the food was worth the travel. Sooo good.

Biryani is good. But for the price you pay, the quantity is so less. Chicken 65 only had 5 tiny pieces covered with heck lot of masala. I stopped going to this place and we are happy to go to Babus instead.

I was looking for the tomato soup in Scarborough and found this place. I went there but they didn’t have it. So, i tried mutton bone soup. And i felt that as per price the soup was ok. But wasn’t a real soup rather than it was a gravy type. Try something else than soups !

Tried this restaurant based on a friend’s recommendation. The staff were great in service but the food was just average with long wait time at the table. They can definitely increase the staff numbers instead of making the customers wait at the tables for longer times. We ordered just 3 kuthu parota and 1 veg thali for dine-in and it took them 50 minutes to serve them to the table when the restaurant was about 70% occupied.Faster service could lead to more customer satisfaction even if the food is average. The taste can be definitely improved.

With all my pregnancy craving travelled 25 minutes just for the dream of falooda. It was really not up to the mark. I tasted icecream in milk. That’s what it tasted like.

I went on a Saturday for family dinner, the restaurant was very busy and the food we ordered was delayed too.I ordered mutton sukka masala but I didnt see the mutton. It was small portion for $16.99. I asked the Waiter to call the manager. He was very rude to say that he buys mutton for the restaurant and they are Losing money to serve their customers from serving Mutton. Terrible explanation! I have never heard such a explanation from a restaurant manager. I will never go to this disrespectful restaurant.Very bad customer service. I would be happy to speak to the person who is in charge of this restaurant if possible. Never experienced such a disrespectful restaurant in DTA. This is not a family friendly restaurant.

Went twice for dinner with parents and we absolutely loved the food (medhu wada, idli, veggie kothu parantha,dosa), vibe and the staff. The service and hospitality received was amazing.I dont know the name but I guess was the manager who took our order both the times very nice and humble person. He made my parents felt welcomed and accommodated for the few customizations we asked for. We need more people like him :). Thank you so much for everything.Highly recommend this place.

Disappointed with the food here! Probably my expectations from Anjappar were high.. The chicken in the biryani was definitely not fresh, smelt weird. Veg meals - curries not wow. Below average taste. Crab soup was the most decent out of the three dishes we ordered. I also feel the quantity was too less. I have eaten at other locations of Anjappar in the US and quantity is so much more for the cost over there.

Limited items in the menu but totally Authentic Tamil Nadu taste for all the dishes. Good service and normal ambience. A must try place.

One of the worst restaurant... i have ordered veg fried rice and they gave me just boiled rice , carrot and salt charged 12 dollor for that that to less quantity... plz do not visit at any cost.. you can visit subhiksha for dosaupdate:- i had a stomach pain and vomiting due to uncooked rice

One stop for all the south Indian cravings! Our familys personal favorites are Parotta, crab masala, Prawn fry, chicken chettinadu. To our surprise we found vegetarian tiffin sambar is too good here. That makes all their dosa dishes finger licking good! Kids friendly! Excellent customer service! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - Being a customer for more than 12 years I never had any complaints about this restaurant and one of my favorite restaurant for north and south Indian food, especially this location in Scarborough .The food was tasty as it was a decade ago, and always they were manage to maintain their standards. However, I thought of writing this comment of an unpleasant incident happen last Friday (Aug 27th) evening when I ordered food through Doordash at around noon and went there to pick up in the evening around 5.Although my order was scheduled to pick up at 5:30PM, I went there to pick up 5min before the schedule time hoping that the order will be ready .The male staff member was so polite and ask me to wait till the they prepare my order . I was waiting for good 15mins and the order was not ready and this lady called (Himani) showed up at the casher .I was asking for the status of my order from her and she was rude to me, show some attitude ,said that I have to wait since they server according to the order placed and then she left .Which is totally wrong since I placed the order five hours earlier than the pickup schedule ,and waited 15min after the scheduled pickup time .Not sure if she was in a grumpy mood all the time or being arrogant thinking that I’m a Doordasher .Regardless, these kind of poor customer service is unacceptable ,and I was very disappointed with the experience I had and hoping they will rectify this issue by improving the customer service of the staff ,especially for that lady on this location .

So I personally loved the food here. This is true South Indian food, and they dont mess around. Food is flavourful, and spicy! One gripe is that we did order a dish and made sure it wouldnt me spicy because one of our friends cant handle any spice, but it came to us spicy. When we inquired, we were told thats the mildest they did and the server walked away without caring. We get this food is spicy, and thats why I love it, but it was frustrating to be treated with such an uncaring attitude. Otherwise, I would have rated this place 5 stars.

The food is good. But if you ask question they dont know the answer. Claiming delivery people are 3rd party. So shame they dont want to help in any thing. ALWAYS THINK ABOUT MONEY.

The experience was horrible. The manager was horrible. He behaved as if he is a rowdy goon. Due to COVID protocols, I had called before walking in and post walking in he asked us to wait for some time. After that when I enquired about my reservation, he was very rude. To this I told that it was not the way anyone especially from the hospitality department should behave with customers. He pushed me and told us that he will not serve us no matter what happens. It was a horrible experience. I feel that COVID has probably made the person forget his ethics.

I recently ordered Fish Fry for my wife from this restaurant and she just loved it. She generally does not try many items from the menu unless she likes the food from that restaurant and this restaurant is one of them where she just keeps ordering variety of food from the menu and so far shes absolutely happy of all the food she has tasted. If possible would love to see an option to order food with less salt and less oil (the salt & oil is good , just that we prefer it less salty and less oily). Also, if we can opt to tone down the heat a bit then we wont have to curse you next day morning...hope you know what I mean :)

We went in for late lunch and ordered Thalis. They were large enough served with ponni rice . Chicken in the chicken Thalis was not fresh. The gravies with the Thalis were tasty though. Pomfret fish fry was the best and crab soup aint to be missed for crab lovers

Yesday I had been to this well known South Indian restaurant. Tried chicken Anjappar, mutton do pyaza and masala dosa. Chicken was good in taste but rest of the food not authentic. Even parotta we’re not freshly made n were just microwaved… the service was as slow as tortoise . HAd to wait for 1 hour for meal preparation.

Hands down one of the best experiences of having South Indian Cuisine

Anjappar serves fresh, authentic South Indian fare. The food is spicy and maybe that is why we rarely see people from other communities/ethnicities eating here. The mutton chukka with Parotha is a must try in this place. We love the usual vada sambhar and dosa too. Servers are great and efficient. One star less only because they dont reserve a table for you and there is always a queue in their Mississauga location.

Exotic south indian food..people craving and missing some authentic tamil flavors do visit here...its in Scarborough and the restuarant has good seating space,ambience is good with light and spacious tables.There is ample parking space and its free..the music played was good tamil numbers and staff are courteous.Now over to the food we started with the koli rasam(chicken soup)its good thin soup and must try.The biryani quantity is difficult to complete for one.The food is spicy and hot and its pricey.I have added few pics of items in menu.Hope everyone gets to enjoy this place as much I did.

The Houdini at Anjappar and the disappearance act!It was the dark and gloomy evening of August 1, when we went in to this place. Hungry as bears, we called in to make reservations so that we dint have to wait and can eat soon.After being seated at 8:30pm, we seemed to be lost as it took ages for them to find us, attend to and take our food order. A person, seemingly the manager, took our order of 2 Dosas, 6 Chapathies with Gobi Munchurian and 1 Chicken Kothu Porotta. But then disappeared and was never to be seen again.We grew eager and impatient, since our food never came to the table after 45mins of ordering. When enquired with the employees, each time someone went inside the kitchen and was never to be seen again.There were customers in other tables, who were growing impatient as their orders had disappeared as well.After having waited for more than an hour, we learnt the fact that we were never going to be served with food, since the restaurant was about to close in few mins. We were to starve for the night considering the fact that almost all of the restaurants were closed by this time.We walked out sad, disappointed and hangry, swearing never to return to an Anjappar restaurant in our lifetimes.There is though this mystery of the missing Manager, his Employees and our Food that remains to be solved.

Ordered Veg Pulao, One of the worst ever had. No veggies. Just plain white rice with some spices. I dont have option to give 1/2 star thats why 1. Please dont ever go for this dish in Anjappar Scarborough.

Highly Recommend!!! Food is fresh, delicious and portions are huge. Based on Sathishs recommendations, we ordered the Veg thaali (can feed 2 or 1 very hungry person,) fish biriyani and fried pomphret (sweet and light buttery fish.) The biriyani comes with a side of curry, yoghurt, and a boiled egg. The veg thaali comes with rice, chapati, yoghurt, sambar, rasam, pickle, spinachdaal curry, puli curry, 2 thick curries that were delicious, payasam and papadum. We couldnt finish all our food (so much of it) and packed most of it to go. The food hits the spot and the customer service is wonderful. These folks care about their customers and go above and beyond, especially Sathish! Thank you to the whole team for all that you do.

I have tried Anjappar in USA, UK and now in Canada. I don’t feel the authentic taste for biryani compared to other places. Other items, however were tasty. I will definitely try this place again but not for biryani.

Today went first time to taste the food at Anjappar Chettinad Restaurant at Scarbrough. Placed order for meals and few other items, sadly the food so pathetic and very pricey for the quality . The meals were so poorly packed curd was so sour and all except rice was half filled. Above the lady at the billing was extremely rude and mannerless to talk to a customer. Suggest people if you like Indian food, try other places. Don’t waste money here!!! Horrible experience!

I ordered food today afternoon and never ever going to order food from here again. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. You can get good food for a better price from other restaurants. Pepper chicken had only 2 to 3 pieces of chicken with no salt. Crab soup did not have even a single piece of crab in it . Very very unhappy with the quantity.

The parottas are the best I have had in my life. Super good. You should all try it. If you are a veggie try it with mushroom masala if not with mutton pepper fry. Best! Their dosas are good but side nah. Cauliflower 65 is good too. Paneer 65 NO. Crab soup is good to have if u have cold.

What I wanted to single out that this South Indian restaurant has going for them is presentation. The food presentation is commendable. From the basic garnish on the Chicken Lolly Pop to the Thalis look and demonstration with all its assorted little dips and side dishes, I find it all very exciting to just jump right in to the eating part.A good find I had here was discovering new post-meal items to look out for when going to Indian restaurants. I really enjoyed my order of Pineapple Kesari, and will be sure to search for that item in the menu next time I am out in an Indian place.A couple of quick things, good and bad, I also want to mention about the overall dining experience I had here are the following: Good that they have a very accessible wash area by the dining space. I would want more Indian restaurants or restaurants in general to have them convenientely available outside instead of having to go all the way inside washrooms.The bad thing is that I did not appreciate how the servers gave me the impression that they are in such a rush to have us finish up our meal and our stay there so they could already clean up the place. They also handed out the bill to us instead of waiting for us to ask for it which I find very rude. I understand that we may have started placing our meal orders late (8:15) then around 9:45-ish already when they came in and gave the bill, but servers should only very situationally be the one to decide on when it is pay-up time already. Even during that late into the night I see some other customers who just came in and have just been served their orders. These unpleasant experience pulled the overall rating down for me.Anyways, to move back on to the food... as someone who cant say is a very good source of opinion about Indian food & all the regional cuisines it has to offer, I must say that dining here gave me a much better sense of what South Indian food may be like. Indian food is so much more than your mainstream Buttern Chicken & Chicken Tikka Masala.

Always driven by this place but never went inside until last weekend. The food tasted very good. The biryani was spicy and was very flavourful. The uthappam, we had no idea what to expect but it was as described. The server and manager on site were very friendly and asked how our food was. Service was fast and the place itself was clean.

Enjoyed Butter Masala Dosa and Paneer 65. Good food and massive quantities. OMG.Check it out.

Went in today for lunch! Was very surprised to see wide buffet options they had. Opted for buffet which was an excellent idea. Lots of food options for $15. Including Masala dosa with buffet was fantastic idea. Loved the food. Worth the price and service received.

Visited this place late in the afternoon after a long drive. I had plans to order dishes from their menu but the attendant asked me to check out their buffet menu for the day before making a choice. They had a large variety of dishes in the buffet. I quickly changed my mind and proceeded with the buffet which included Mutton Bone soup/Rasam, Chicken Tandoori, Veg Spring Roll as Appetizers. The Main course included Veg Biryani, Mix Vegetable Curry, Mutton Sukka, Chilly Fish. I didnt like the Mix Vegetable as I felt the chef added a bit more water than required. But the non veg dishes made up for it. Adding to it, they had five different varieties of Dosas, made on request. Semiya Payasam and Gulab Jamun completed the Meal. The Gulab Jamun was exceptionally soft and tasty.Overall, even though I found the restaurant to be a bit pricey, the food is totally worth it. Appreciate the helpful and courteous nature of their staff. I will definitely come back again!!.

Anjappar is an International Chettinad cusine restaurant brand , I have had it in Abu Dhabi . It was amazing there , It did not disappointment me here either. Please note it is spicy food. Chicken biryani, andhra wings and the breakfast buffet are hidden gems. The owner and the staff are friendly. Over all I highly recommended you to try it.

The pricing is slightly on the higher side compared to the other chettinad restaurants in the area, but quality of food is also superior!We tried the meals and it was decent, the chettinad curry and Malabar curry were very good!

Service was prompt. The food arrived quickly and was hot. The quality and quantity was more than sufficient to feed the 3 of us. We will definitely be returning to try more of the menu.

Ordered the chicken65 for takeout and was disappointed×65 times. Presentation of the food is certainly a thing which is difficult to achieve in takeout but the taste isnt and thats what they did..disappointed with the taste, I dint realize that they think chicken 65 is chicken pakora, see the pic.One could taste the burnt batter on the outside and the blant chicken inside, no garnish, no taste. I wish I could tell you more but after having just a bite, I had to throw it away, now I am wondering why the organic bin was smelling that bad.

Very impressed with the quick and attentive service. We went for the weekend breakfast buffet which was totally worth the price ($12.99pp) and included the Madras coffee which was piping hot and a nice treat to have included!

They served eaten chicken bone in cauliflower 65. Just disgusted.. if your vegetarian or if you care about hygiene .. please stay away. I’m a loyal customer to this location for 10 years but this will be my last visit. I had put up with the consistent bad service all these years because of the food.

Manager Vijay in this place is very rude. We ordered chicken bucket biryani from this place it was tasteless. When we went and asked the manager about it he said that it is how it tastes. I have had food from a anjappar earlier and I know it tastes.This is not a good behavior by the manager.Avoid this branch its not worth the money you spend.
