Located in the heart of the Red Square, this shopping mall offers luxury clothing/lifestyle brands. It also has a movie theatre and a ice skating ring if you need some recreational timeout! The mall itself is a very pleasant walk as the ceiling is a highlight for many! The mall is usually decorated and highlighted with lights making it very alluring, specially at night with the lights highlighting the façade of the building.A must visit while you are at Red Square!

Visited here in September, 2014.This department store is located adjacent to the Red Square, which is why its been always crowded with tourists. Also you can see many gift shops inside, so it will be pretty easy to buy something or whatever you wanna buy as Russian souvenirs. The thing I noticed is that this department store has lots of cheap restaurants inside. The red square is literally the center of Russia, meaning tenant fee would be highly expensive though it is my guess, and I was so grateful for chances to have cheap meals here. But of course, the majority of shops inside is luxurious ones.

Well, one can spend a week In GUM and always want to get back. First of all you go to GUM because you have all high end brands there. Second you go there because it is an architectural masterpiece, third you go there because of it’s location. It is on the Red Square. Fourth you have a beautiful small restaurants where you can have a delicious meal and excellent service. As my followers could see fromthis blog I’m a globe trotter. I have been fromChina to United States, Dubai and Sardinia, France and Switzerland, Georgia and Armenia, but my dears I want to underline that there is one ☝️ city in the world which has THE SERVICE EVERYWHERE is Moscow. This 242-meter-long department store was built between 1890 and 1893. After the Russian Revolution in 1917, the business was nationalized and in 1928 the premises were used as offices. In 1953, an extensive renovation was carried out and the department store business resurfaced. Today there are almost 200 stores here.GUM is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00.GUM is incredibly impressive and a must visit even if you do not want to shop.

Some call it the epitome of Russian Shopping experience, some describe it as a fairytale. The GUM department store is located in the center of Moscow, directly on Red Square. It is a department store with over 100 years of tradition, which is now known as a high-end shopping mall; on three floors, the customer will find over 200 exclusive stores, mainly international designers are represented. The number of visitors is estimated at about 30,000 per day (!!!). The opulent, marble-clad neoclassical architecture makes the building an interesting destination even for less affluent visitors.

This is a kind of gallery Lafayette on The Red Square. Very impressive high end shopping mall.Once you have passed through security, you are faced with an amazing choice of shops. You will find all posh fashion brands here. The ones which melt the plastic of your credit card are situated on the ground floor. Prices 30% more expensive compared to European stores. Even if you don’t buy anything you will enjoy the experience.Surprisingly for a fancy shopping mall, GUM has several affordable options. Such as the old-school traditional Soviet ice-cream near the beautiful fountain in the heart of the building.Using the toilet costs a mere 100 Rubles for which you got Immaculately clean and warm facilities.

This is one of these places that even if you have no interest in shopping, you should at least walk through briefly. It’s amazingly beautiful and their floral displays rival the Bellagio in Las Vegas. They call it a “department store” but it seems to be more of a mall with many stores from brand you are probably familiar with and many small cafes, etc. They do have metal detectors at each entrance but only seem to do “selective” security screening as do many places in Russia.

GUM(ГУМ).This is a modern shopping mall located in the Red Square area, Moscow. The Gum word is an abbrev. of Glávnyj Universáľnyj Magazín, or Main Universal Store used to be State-owned Department Store until 1991. Now become a modern shopping mall with most of the products are branded from all over the world. This is what makes this place so special a modern store in the old and antique building. The security procedure to the entrance is quite tight, before entering the store, you have to pass the security gate and have to show the inside of your bag.Therere rows of branded boutiques on all the floors, restaurants, cafes, book stores, jewelry, fashion, etcThen a lot of restaurants, bars, and cafes. My favorite thing in this place is a Supermarket on the Ground Floor, so nice, good decorated and fresh nuance. One suggestion for you:Make sure to try a traditional ice cream which sale in the entrance door. Toilet available on the 3rd floor and ticket is 50Ruble.
