Network Contact OrderPALEKAR FOOD PRODUCTS PVT. LTD. was started in 1939 by the name of ‘PALEKAR BAKERY’ when Late Shri. Maruti Sadashiv alias Dadasaheb Palekar kept its foundation. It was those days when bakery food was neither honored nor accepted by Hindu religion. Still Dadasaheb showed enormous courage to enter into this business. Without any technical knowledge in the manufacturing of the bakery products, Dadasaheb came into this industry. He studied lot of books and developed his own recipes in various bakery products. Self-tasted quality and customers’ satisfaction was his motto while best quality and affordable price was the main criteria for achieving this motto.The elder son of Shri Dadasaheb, Mr. Govindrao Palekar joined this business in 1964. He did an important job of fixing the recipes into a permanent formula of production. Other than that, he applied accounting standards to the business and in this way the business began to reflect in the books of accounts.In 1980 the grandson of Shri Dadasaheb, Mr. Neelkanth Palekar entered into the business. He completed his graduation in B.Sc. (Chem.) and then Diploma in Basic Bakery Sciences from Gujrath Agricultural University, ANAND, Gujrath. In 1984 he started his own food industry named M/s. Neelkanth Bakery and Confectionery, an S.S.I. unit to manufacture the fancy bakery products like cakes, cookies & pastries etc.In June 1991, Palekars formed a Pvt. Ltd. company named PALEKAR FOOD PRODUCTS PVT. LTD. Main objective of this company was to take over the running business of earlier firms. To take the business to the new sky, Mr. Neelkanth Palekar visited International Trade Fairs IBA-92 at Berlin, Germany & IBA-95 at Dusseldorf, Germany in May, 1992 & in April, 1995 respectively. After visiting these Trade-Fairs along with some food industries in Europe, U.S.A. & Canada, Mr. Neelkanth Palekar made several changes in the plant & installed some new machinery. A new Bread Plant was installed to gear up the production. Also, old Wood-fired ovens were replaced by advanced Rotary Rack Ovens, one by one to take the company to the zero Wood-fuel level, which was a remarkable achievement.In October 1998, on the auspicious occasion of Dasera, Mr. Neelkanth Palekar, started a new project at Village Walse, 10 km south to Satara City, costing around Rs. 2.35 crores.After about 70 years to complete, the fourth generation of Dadasaheb, Mr. Pranav Palekar is in the business of making best quality bakery products
