Arifail Mosque is one of the most beautiful mosques in Brahmanbaria. This is a wonderful example of Mughal architecture with a big Persian influence. It stands on the south side of Sagardighi lake. There is a mysterious tomb outside the mosque & a hidden tunnel beneath the tomb. There are many legends about the secret path.This white architectural beauty is now under care of Archeology Dept of BD.

This mosque was built at the year 1662. It has a beautiful architectural structure. From Bishwa road, anybody can reach this place by rickshaw.

The mosque floor occupied by 24.38 m x9.30 m rectangular area. Height nearly 8 m. Each wall is 1.6 m wide bearing weight of the roof. There is a yard affront the mosque boundary opened at a modern gate in the east. Four octagonal pillars making stronger the corners of the mosque and passing through the horizontal parapets those are topped with kalasa finials. Two bigger domes built on the roof keeping middle main dome, based on rectangular supporting structure inside the mosque like half domed vim.

This is an example of Mughal architecture, which combined Bengali, Persian and Islamic influences.Arifile Mosque is located 15km from Brahmanbaria District and 0.5km northwest from Sarail Upazila.Wonderful architectural techniques, styles and crafts outside the mosque reminds the beauty of The Taj Mahal.The mosque floor occupied by 24.38 m x 9.30 m rectangular area. Arifile Mosque stands on the south-east of Sagardighi a big water resort. It was discovered and repaired between 2009 and 2010. Now it is in good condition.Mosque is designed by friezes of blind merlons spiral scroll on the frames of mihrabs and rectangular frames. Middle, north and south doors are deep arched alcove. Half domed vim and middle mihrab ornamented with muqarnas works in stucco.

The location of the mosque to the west. This mosque is 60 feet x 20 feet in size. The thickness of the walls is 5 feet 6 inches. The mosque looks a lot like the Taj Mahar because of its architectural technique and unique construction style. The mosque, built 350 years ago, is an important monument. At present, the mosque has been declared as an archeological resource under the Bangladesh Archaeological Department. There are many myths about the mosque. Many people come from far and wide to see the mosque.How to get there:From any part of Bangladesh, you can come directly to the Bishbrod junction of Brahmanbaria district by adding CNG. Is a historical architecture of Bangladesh located in Arifile village of Srail upazila of Brahmanbaria district. It is an archaeological site listed by the Bangladesh Department of Archeology. Locally it is known as ariel or ariafile. The mosque is located on the village of Arifil in the upazila of Sadril upazila. Its distance from the headquarters is half a kilometer.The mosque was built in 122. According to local tradition, the mosque was built by Darbesh Shah Arif and the mosque was named after him.The mosque is 8x3 feet thick and the wall is about five and a half feet thick. The total entrance to the mosque is 3, of which three are to the east and the rest to the north and east respectively. There are four towers in the four corners of the mosque. It has a total of three domes. Beneath the domes, there are three bays in the upper part of the mosque that divides the interior into three. The domes are marked with a lotus flower. The outside of the walls of the mosque is adorned with a four-sided sheath It has tiles and limestone for preservation. However, the previous structure is still intact. There is a shrine next to the mosque.There is a pond on the north side of the Arifile Mosque, and on the west side of the mosque is the Arifile Shrine, known as Jorakbar and covers about one third of the area. The pond next to the mosque is known as Sagardighi.
