Good food, nice people. The kind of place where you get your food and then they leave you alone instead of bugging you every five minutes. Theyre not neglectful and the servers are there when needed, its just not like most restaurants where they wont leave you alone to have a conversation. This restaurant was a little odd. You order, pay, and tip at the front of the restaurant and then you sit down and receive bottled or canned beverages. Our food came out at the same time, but the chicken, veggies, and potatoes in my curry werent really cut up. I had entire halves of potatoes in my dish and the chicken and carrots werent in much smaller pieces. It wasnt bad, it just didnt feel like there was a lot of effort put in for $15 a plate and I was disappointed.

I’ve been here several times and the food has always been good! Doesn’t disappoint! Last night I got takeout and got the pineapple curry and pad thai. Both delish. It was A LOT of food and I’ll be able to eat it for leftovers twice for sure. The service was fast and the staff was friendly.

The best curry around! Moved out of state and still can’t find curry as creamy and flavorful! Try the massaman or the pineapple curries!

Tried for the first time. We did not enjoy our dining experience at Simply Thai. You are expected to order your food, pay and tip before being seated. Prices they charge are higher than the menu. Our bill was probably $8-10 dollars higher than the advertised price. They offer canned soda and bottled water only. They bring your food out at different times so you don’t really eat together. The food was fine, not great. Will not be going back.

The first experience I had with Simply Thai was after my sons birthday party. It had been a long exhausting day and I really just wanted to stay at home so we could eat something simple and go to bed.I have two children, a 3 year old and 1 year old. Anyone who has young children know how challenging it can be eating out with them.When we arrived. We ordered in the lounge area and paid before we ate. Which was different but not a big deal. We were then seated and our drinks were brought out immediately. The wait for our food was not long. Maybe that’s why they have you order before you’re seated, to make the wait time for the food seem short.When the food arrived at our table, it looked and smelled INCREDIBLE! I have had Thai food before, but there was something about this Thai food that sent it over the top!The Pad Thai, House Fried Rice, Fried Spring rolls and Chicken Satay were my favorite! The peanut sauce was on point. I believe it was the owner who checked on us to see how everything was. It was a nice touch to have them ask.Our server was on the ball. She was quick and easy to work with and cheerful. (This was during the pandemic and they were short staffed)We will be returning to Simply Thai as often as we can. It was a fantastic experience!

This place is awkward. I love when I feel welcome, and here the second you walk in you don’t feel welcome. They have you order and pay first, then sit down and give you bottled water. The pineapple curry was amazing! But they give out one entree at a time, 5 minutes between each. And one of the entrees wasn’t good, and the server just said “well that’s what you ordered” rather than offer to get something else..

For Thai food, this is our favorite place!! Their Num Tok is amazing. The sticky rice that comes in a cute basket goes perfectly with this dish. They have so many great items on their menu and I want to explore my options but I keep ordering the Num Tok because it’s that good!!

This is my favorite Thai food place to go to. The food is delicious and the owner has done a fabulous job keeping this treasure up and running. With restaurants opening back up to the public, its wonderful that this restaurant has weathered it all and does their best to keep customers happy. They have do/done a wonderful job.

First off I don’t understand what this restaurant is trying to be, a Thai place or a dentist office (what’s up with the tv in the waiting area??) besides the waitress being really obnoxious, the food was definitely frozen, the chicken was definitely just reheated and almost powdery and stuck to my teeth, the veggies are like semi decent and the curry they were in was just some stock that they found, there is no flavor in the pineapple curry. They can’t even make strawberry lemonade, it was just sugar and give me a glass cup for goodness sake! I’m not 5 years old, why do a need a plastic lid? Gordon Ramsey would have a field day at this place.

Always excellent food. The peanut sauce is the perfect combination.The green curry has a superb flavor! It has a slight spicy, just enough to clear sinuses.You must try the desserts. The mango with sett rice is the best we have ever tried!

The pineapple curry and the pad Thai were delicious! I wouldnt get the coconut soup again, neither of us liked it. The service was very strange. We had to order and pay and tip at the front desk. Then we were never waited on other then bringing us our food, like they literally didnt look in our direction. We had to pay for water bottles and no refills were offered. That is hard when you get spicy food. We had to wave them down to get us to go boxes. Like I said I LOVED a couple dishes, but probably wouldnt recommend very highly.

My wife and I are trying to eat at all the Thai places in the valley. This by far was the worst. Agree with the comments about it being weird and very unfriendly to make you order, pay and tip before they seat you. They brought the food out quick and never checked on us again until they asked if we wanted a box. I always get the Massaman at every Thai place we go and this is the absolute worst I have ever eaten. The chicken and potatoes were clearly cooked well in advance and there was no spice. If you want below average food and below average service this is the place for you.

Well if you look past how the actual prices are $2-3 more than listed on the menu. And the fact that one of our servers was clearly not sober. And if we look past how they brought out our food 1 person at a time over a 15 minute span and our rice after the 3rd dish. And we could look past how they tried to bust our table while we still sat and had the same plate for appetizers and the main course...The food was quite delicious

The woman who is the hostess has gotten more and more hostile as time has gone on. Good food, but when youre treated like garbage just for having the audacity to walk in the door, its just not worth it. Had multiple out of town visitors comment on how bad the service was. Highly recommend eating somewhere that deserves your business.

I’m happy that this restaurant is back to its old self. We had wonderful service in addition to their phenomenal food.I have eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants in the valley and this is the best in my opinion. The Green Curry is delicious and the Pineapple Curry is a favorite.

Absolutely amazing food! Loved everything about this place we’ll definitely be coming again, my wife and I loved Thai food and we’ve eaten at quite a few places in the valley but this was by far the best.

I have never been treated so badly. We came to this restaurant for the first time today because the Pad Thai had good reviews. Sadly we didn’t get to try it because of the way we were treated when we walked in. There wasn’t anyone at the front and nobody came and we didn’t see a “wait to be seated” sign so we sat ourself. About 5 minutes later a very aggressive female walked up to us and said “Did you seat yourself”? When we said yes, she said “let’s go back up to the front” with a finger gesture like we didn’t know where the front was. She then threw the menus on the counter and said “we order up front here and then we bring you your food”! At that point we walked out and we will never be back.She was unprofessional in EVERY WAY including her ripped jeans and half shirt and the way we were treated should NEVER happen to anyone. I was physically sickened by her attitude. When went to Thai Land in Draper immediately after and have been treated like guests! Thank you Thai Land for restoring my faith in the restaurant industry.

Super friendly and fast service. The food is also very fresh! I really love he food here and visit often. My favorite is the coconut curry soup and the pad Thai (see photos). Don’t forge the mango sticky rice. When mangoes are in season, this is incredible.

Well, Ive been twice in the past week and got the same thing each time. Coconut soup, fresh spring rolls. Also drunken noodles. Spicy and delicious. Spring rolls were very good and the coconut soup was very, very good and the small is big. The price is right and they were busy the second time. Give this place a try. Find your yummy!

The front hostess has the worst attitude I’ve ever seen. It’s gotten worse every time we’ve gone to Simply Thai. Today we walked out before we even finished ordering because she was intolerably rude. If Simply Thai wants to stay in business, they should provide better service, and start by hiring someone new for the front desk. Also, we should not need to pay and tip before service, since service is always poor when employees know they don’t need to work for a tip.

Terrible service. We walked in and there was no signage to say whether or not to seat your selves. We sat down and then were rudely told to get up and go to the front to order and had the menus thrown across the counter to order. Sad there are so many good reviews about food but I will not eat somewhere that treats their customers like they are an inconvenience.

I don’t usually write reviews unless my experience was really good or really bad. I ordered yellow curry takeout from Simply Thai last night, it was the worst yellow curry I’ve ever had. The potatoes and very few carrots in the curry were so over cooked they were literally mush which made the texture of the broth baby food like, thick starchy texture, and not very flavorful. It cost almost $15 which is very expensive for such low quality. I definitely will not be back... I wouldn’t eat it again if it was free, that’s how lame it was.

Came here at 11:30 for lunch with some coworkers. We got seated right away but the place definitely got packed. This was my first time trying Thai food. On their lunch menu I got the L11 (pork stir fry) and the L9 (sweet and sour chicken stir fry) and we got an order of chicken Pad Thai to share. The Pad Thai was definitely my favorite. I preferred the L9 over the L11. I only liked the rice if I dipped it in the juices of the stir fry. The owner was there and she was very sweet. Our waiter was very kind and super helpful. Lunch price was fair. Would come back again for the Pad Thai!

The food at Simple Thai deserves 5 stars. However, time and time again I am disappointed by the service. Today, they requested that we order and pay for our food at the counter, which is fine since we are still in Covid. However, the service today is worse than usual. We waited over 15 minutes for extra rice.

Ive been going here since she opened and will continue to support an excellent restaurant. The food is really good and always fresh. I love any of the currys no meat with extra veggies, coconut soup, spring rolls, and mango with sticky rice. She does an amazing job and she makes sure everything is up to standard so if you have questions or a problem, they will take care of you. Its always clean and fresh.

TERRIBLE experience! I have gone to Simply Thai for years now and love it, but today was the worst Ive ever experienced. The woman who took my order over the phone was VERY distracted and got my order and name wrong. When I arrived at the restaurant, the same woman did not try to solve my problem when she could not find my order under my name. She just ignored me while I was patiently waiting. When I finally approached her after 15 min to get an update on my order that I was already charged for, she questioned if I really called the right place and if they took my order. She did not even apologize once another worker helped her solve the problem and realized she put it under the wrong name. So my order was just sitting there ready for at least 20 min, getting cold. I am very unhappy and unsatisfied, especially when I got home and saw they did not get my order right at all. She gave me the wrong curry and did not include the jelly for the wantons. Zero stars if I could!

The food here is very good, and that is the only reason it doesnt get 1 star. They try to get every penny out of you. For example, they charge you for water, and you have to pay, and tip, before even being seated. Then they dont even check on you or anything.

Great food, like lick-the-plate good. Due to COVID you order first, they hand you a water bottle, and then you are seated. That water is the only water you will get, so make sure to pace yourself if you ordered something spicy.

I ordered from here and had the beef pad seiw, chicken Tom kha soup, and the chicken yellow and massaman curry. The beef pad seiw and Tom kha soup were the best parts of our meal and were held to delicious standards with delicious ingredients. But when we opened our curry’s we discovered chucked canned chicken, whole russet potato’s, and a bland taste to the dish in our containers. The standard obviously was held in a completely different way with these two meals. To pay as much as I did for a special dinner it was surprising to get such results, I hope this restaurant will better there preparation for there take out orders more professionally in the future. Only reason for the 2 ⭐️was because of the two items we received made professionally were tasty.

Staff is always on par for the amount of customers they serve here each day. Very attentive, polite and orderly. I love the free bags of coffee grounds they have near the front door, please give me more!

We felt like we were an inconvenience. The Pad Thai was good, but was cold. They were upset that I asked for it to be heated . There were 2 of us and the food came out separately by about 5 minutes.(mine was our 1st so no excuses.) Would not come back. There was no waitress, just a food deliverer. We had tipped in advance.

Nice place for a quiet Thai food. The hostess is friendly and we went on a Friday afternoon, still did not have a wait time. There is plenty of parking outside also. Recommended place.

Incredible Thai food - we love the red curry. We tried ordering takeout last night for a family party but they were backed up so we went with another local Thai place that didnt have an hour plus wait. We should have just waited as their Red Curry just didnt match the flavor and kick from Simply Thai!

Great little Thai place. Ive had a few dishes from here. Mostly different curries and Pad Thai. The portions are great. Curry ingredients are fresh and tasty and the portions are huge. The pic I posted was only a small portion (1/3) of the dish. The staff is nice, and they have enough seating that I rarely have to wait.

I have always loved this place, but its kind of disappointing this time that I ordered mango sticky rice and theres no mango....

We had to pay for our dinner before they would seat us. The hostess explained that they started this during the night of COVID and decided to continue. I always read that you should NEVER tip up before service, and that was good advice here (I saw the hostess, who turned out to be our server, too, glance at the (empty) tip line before we were seated). The service was pretty bad, and although I asked three times for a particular appetizer, it never came. They appeared to be short staffed. My wife didn’t care for the food and assured me we won’t be returning. I hope this place works out the post-COVID kinks, I like to support local businesses and have consistently paid generous tips (20-100%) to other restaurants to support the workers.

I love Simply Thai. Their food is always so good. Nally, the owner is amazing. She cares so much and if she is not in the kitchen, you will often see her going table to table asking everyone how they are doing. While I love eating there at any time, but lunch is my favorite because you get to choose 2 options. I love that because I can never decide what to get with all the yummy options. At dinner time, it is very large family style portions, perfect for sharing! I love the masaman and pineapple curries, the coconut soup, pad gra pow, and the waterfall beef.

Food has been great both times I went. I got the lunch combo with red curry and panang curry. Both excellent but I liked the red curry more.

Decent food, sub part service... Make you pay/tip before eating.... So you get that kind of service.

Born and raised in Asia - I am extremely disappointed. This place is NOT AUTHENTIC at all. Tom Kha was done all wrong, weirdly sour and lack of layers of flavors. Grilled chicken is just the saddest I’ve ever seen. Service was terrible. Front desk was not friendly, server throw my food on the table - to a point that the chicken was touching the used napkin (obviously they don’t care). They made you pay upfront, I really regret tipping before experiencing the poor service. Will never come back.

Very overpriced, for what we got! It tasted good n all... but entrées for 4, lettuce wrap app, and a rice/mango dessert, & water... for $76+ ?? And $85 with tip? Geeeeze! The Covid process is also lame as well. Ya have to order standing at the front door, and can then be seated. In addition... even though every other restaurant in the valley and beyond uses cups of water... they hand ya a plastic water bottle from Smiths (that also makes ya feel uncomfortable by asking for a 2nd or 3rd bottle). Cmon Simply Thai, you can do better & cheaper than that... right? *sigh*

I agree with another reviewer--food was pretty good, but the Covid system is awful. Indifferent order taking up front after waiting, they hand you a water bottle, no service in the dining area (had to search for someone), cold atmosphere. Perfect example of why you dont tip up front! Much better off to order takeout if you insist on eating here. Silly rules that protect no one and make it very unpleasant.

WORST lunch ever... I ordered the lunch special delivery .... the amount of food I got was paltry... my chicken curry had nothing but potatoes... they sent nothing to eat it with and when I called to complain I was hung up on after being told it was because I ordered through grub hub. I have never had an experience like this ordering through delivery... DO not waste your money you will get little to nothing to eat and apparently they don’t care now that they have my money. No apologies or trying to make it right. I did not yell call names just let them know my dissatisfaction and she blamed the driver and hung up on me. Nice way to treat your customers

Great food but the service wasnt great tonight. They were definitely getting busy but we probably waited an hour to receive our food and another large table that arrived probably 30 minutes after us received their food before we did. Also, the hostess that first greeted us was very abrupt and not very friendly.

Every time we have come here, the food has been perfect. The staff is friendly, the prices are good and the portions are sufficient. Generous chunks of meat. For the lunch special you get to choose two items out of about 30 authentic Thai dishes. My only very minor complaint would be that Id like more rice, but they brought me more upon request so it wasnt an issue. The place was packed full on a Friday when we got in at 1 pm today. Well definitely come back here.

Im not exactly sure what Covid-19 has done to a lot of restaurants, but this is just a joke!First of all you have to order and pay for your food at the front counter before you are even sat at a table.I think I know why:They delivered my husbands food and drink, but I had to wait 20 minutes to get my food, which I watched the server deliver to another table, walk back into the kitchen, then minutes later came back out and take it off of the other table and tried to serve it to me.During a deadly pandemic!The server seemed quite put out that I asked for a replacement be made.I understand that most are fed up with the process of keeping customers safe from Covid-19, but this is just a bit too relaxed for my comfort.I dont even know if she had a new serving prepared because my pad thai was served cold.Also, for Thai food, ordered extra spicy, it was extremely bland. Baby food has more flavor and is spicier.The chicken satay appetizer, which I watched as the server delivered to another table first, was delivered to us ice cold, and mere minutes before our meal was almost finished.I am getting really tired of writing these bad reviews, and Im honestly hoping its due to the year plus months of dealing with Covid-19 and lack of training of new hire employees.Seriously disappointed.Spent $50 and an hour of my time for and an ice cold (possibly contaminated) appetizer, two very disappointing entrees and two stale hot teas.What a rip off!Can NOT recommend...

The food is alright but the service is just terrible, the Covid system they have makes no sense and orders are mixed up, you are obligated to deal with it because you have to pay for it upfront. You will realize how bad the service it’s and it will be within the first minute or so.

You now must pay before ordering. Well, that is after the hostess finishes her personal conversation and is criticized in front of you by the owner. Canned soda only, not even a glass of water are your options for beverages. After you pay for the new higher priced lunch specials you will be seated to your table where the benches are so worn out you are almost sitting on the floor. But, the for the finale you get a piece of hair in your food. But, remember you don’t get a refill on your water so no one comes to check on you. At this point, you leave to never return again.

Lunch menu gives lots of choices. The Tom Ka Gai coconut milk soup was sublime! Slightly thicker and creamer than most restaurants make it, it had wonderful flavor, lots of chicken, and great fresh veggies that were not overcooked. My 2nd lunch item choice (you get 2) was a chicken stir-fry (#L18 on menu). Spice level was medium, and it took a few bites to get used to it, but once again, it was flavorful. I didnt leave even the smallest morsel on my plate.

Try the pineapple curry. Thank me later :) also the pad Thai and massaman are close seconds - I always add chicken.

Great food, terrible service. Required to order and pay up front. Drinks are individual soda cans or bottles of water despite refills noted on menu. Wait staff dont wash hands, they wear the same silly covid gloves between food, dishes, phone, menus, etc.If it wasnt for their silly covid tactics, this place would be awesome. I will never dine here again, but takeout will be fantastic.

Food is great. Great portions/great taste. But the service is trash. Got our steaming hot food and didn’t get our drinks. Had to get up and walk to the front desk to request the drinks we already paid for. Then they dropped off one of our three drinks and walked away quickly. After another ten minutes I had to get up to ask again and the employee seemed so annoyed. Food is great, but might want to just take out if you’re planning on eating here.

First problem, couldnt get them to answer their phone to order. Tried the Place your order option, wouldnt let me select Grubhub. Second problem, prices on the Maps menu not even close. Pad thai on Maps menu, 9.99. Actual price, 13.99. Third problem, pad thai noodles undercooked, and the added shrimp were 4 maybe quarter-sized shrimp with the tails still on. Fourth problem, no plum sauce sent with the spring rolls. Dont think were going back for awhile.

Food was good, but not great. And the staff seemed bristly and even a bit annoyed at having to take orders, serve food, etc. Not a very pleasant experience. There are other excellent Thai restaurants nearby so I wont likely return here.

We have been eating at Simply Thai for a long time! The owner is so gentle and kind. She loves her business and people from all walks of life.After living in Bangkok for 3 years I think it’s the best Thai restaurant in Utah. I highly recommend the Tom Kha Ghai soup (coconut milk).

Ordering situation was very unpleasant. Expect to order all your food and drinks and pay before you are seated. Then expect icy looks from the blue haired hostess the rest of your mediocre meal.

Food tasted solid, but probably the most overpriced place Ive ever been to. 13 dollars got me 2 small chicken breasts with sauce. Thats it. Ive eaten New York strip steak for less.

As what other people said, customer service is terrible. I understand they are busy, and only one person works there. I wish they are more kind in busy situation. I know it can be hard things. but whenever I asked questions, I was also stressed because of they are tone of the voice and facial expression. Food was too sweet and too salty.

I really really wanted to like this place more than I did! The people were extremely nice and I think it could be great!! The service was great, the food and pricing are where it falls slightly short for me.Heres what could have been better about the food for me:1. Portion sizes to price - great portions, HUGE portions. I could have had half of the portion for less money and still would have been very happy. Wish it was an option!2. Shrimp shouldnt have tails. I loved my dish, the taste was there! I just didnt appreciate de-tailing my own shrimp, that is usually something typical of an appetizer, not the main course.Otherwise great experience! I do hope to receive a response to this review and hope my suggestions are taken into consideration. I will change the rating and review if my concerns are addressed.

I ordered take out and the food was good but when I got home there was no rice in the bag. I called to tell them and went back to get the rice. They did not apologize either on the phone or in person. I found that to be very rude and will not be going back again.

Overall a very disappointing meal. First my meal came about 10 minutes before my girlfriends food came, so my did was cold before here arrived. And the curry dish was served on a flat plate, which the server spilled as she bright the food over. Then her food was chilled enough when it came that it had obviously been sitting for a while. Then my beef dish had a strimp tail end in it (the hard part you throw away). There was essentially no service. No one ever came by to see how our for was, had to glad down a server anytime we needed anything and then flag a second person down 10 minutes later because we never got what we asked for. Food was average, might have been better if it was actually hot when eating it. To add to the poor experience, the seat were broken, and we heard more than one other guest mentioned that their seat was broken as well. Overall, one of the most disappointing $40 I have spent recently.

The food was pretty good (pad thai and massaman curry). However, inside it smelled like cigarettes l smoke very strong and was hard to enjoy your meal with the smoke smell (felt like I was in Vegas).

This was our first time trying Simply Thai. We are big fans of Thai food, but we have yet to find a place we love here in the South Valley. Simply Thai changed that. We will definitely go again. We ordered the cashew chicken stir fry and the beef Pad See Ew. The food was delicious, and was served quickly and correctly. The restaurant was clean and well-kept. The service was friendly and attentive. Cant wait to go back and try a curry.

I went into Simply Thai and purchased the lunch menu deal - 2 for 1. To my dismay the idea was that there was going to be 2 meals. The portion size for the entire meal would be probably for a child under 10. Not a good value. Taste was average.

Great place to get some dinner or lunch as well. Prices are reasonable with the portion you get. Variety of different items, Ive tried a few and they taste great. Service is very spot on and friendly as can be. It can get full and theres a bit of wait time because of limited space.

I’ve been coming here for years for their lunch specials. We have been avoiding going out because of the virus but decided to do take out here for my birthday. If you are looking for a place that is taking sanitation serious this is the place! Everyone was being very conscious of how close they got to customers, they were sanitizing everything between each customer down to the pens. The food and service was great as always but seeing how conscious they were being about sanitation and safety in this time made us feel even better about the whole experience.
